Story
Meet Nani! Nani is a beautiful German Shepherd Border Collie mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She absolutely adores people and is the kind of dog who will happily soak up all the attention, affection, and belly rubs you’re willing to give. Her sweet nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone who wants a loyal and loving best friend.Nani is also a playful, energetic girl who enjoys being active and having fun. One of her favorite games is being chased by her dog friends around the yard—she’ll zoom around happily and keep the party going! When the roles reverse and she’s the one doing the chasing, her Border Collie side shines through. She stalks and chases on overdrive. Her ideal dog companion would be an active male dog who doesn’t mind letting Nani take the lead. She enjoys being the boss and thrives with dogs who are happy to follow her cue during playtime.Because of her strong prey drive, Nani cannot live in a home with cats.Overall, Nani is a loving, lively, and intelligent dog who will make an amazing companion for an active home that can give her plenty of play, structure, and affection. If you’re looking for a sweet, spirited dog who will bring joy, energy, and loyalty to your life, Nani might be your perfect match. Come meet Nani and see if she’s the missing piece to your family! What her adoption fee covers:✅ Spay✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Nani? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgApril 29, 2026, 7:20 am

Story
Molly is a bright, energetic Lab/Border Collie mix with a goofy streak that will keep you smiling every day! This playful girl is always ready for her next adventure—whether it’s a game of fetch, a long walk, or just zooming around the yard showing off her silly side. She thrives on activity and would love a home that can keep up with her fun-loving energy. Because of her enthusiasm, Molly would do best with older kids who can match her playful spirit. She absolutely loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion to wrestle and romp with. However, Molly has a strong chase instinct and will chase cats, so a feline-free home is a must.Molly is looking for an active family who will embrace both her energetic nature and her goofy personality. In return, she’ll be a loyal, entertaining companion who fills your days with laughter, love, and plenty of playtime! What her adoption fee covers:✅ Spay✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Molly? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgApril 29, 2026, 7:20 am

Story
WOOF! I'M ROCCO! I'm a 2-year-old Border Collie-Flat-Coat mix in need of a foster or forever home! I was recently rescued from a crowded California shelter, where I was impounded as a stray. I then was adopted, but returned less than 24 hours later as someone in the house had allergies. Fortunately I was rescued and now am ready for a foster or forever home! I have done great with other dogs and am a happy, playful boy. I love to play with other dogs and hang out with humans. I weigh 59 lbs. Could you foster or adopt me? I'm currently in California but can be transported to Oregon. Please email for an application.

Story
MEET LUCY – Love sponge! Are you looking for a dog who adores people? Lucy thrives on affection, praise, and treats, and she’ll happily soak up all the love you’re willing to give. She enjoys riding in the car, going for walks, and lounging on beds or couches right alongside her humans. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants to be near you, Lucy is your girl.Lucy is a beautiful 2-year-old, split-faced Border Collie with a permanent smile.  She weighs 47 lbs.  She is potty trained and doing very well with kennel training. Lucy knows her basic commands, walks nicely on a leash, and is incredibly smart, true to her Border Collie roots. She learns quickly and is eager to please, making her joy to train.  Lucy will melt your heart. She is sweet, loyal, and ready to devote herself to a family who will continue to guide her and love her.LUCY DOES WELL WITH:·         Other dogs – Lucy generally gets along well with other dogs, especially the boys!  She is playful and adapts her play style to the other dog.   Sometimes dominant female dogs don’t care for Lucy, so we would want her to meet female dogs in the household.  Lucy is appropriately submissive to the female dog at her current foster.·         Kids – Lucy loves teens.  She shows no reaction to strollers.  She has not been around young children.·         Adults – Lucy loves people!·         Horses – Lucy grew up around horses and does well with them.LUCY WOULD NEED HELP WITH:·         Cats – Fast movement excites Lucy. She has shown interest in cats, so a cat-free home or a very slow, structured introduction would be best.LUCY DOES NOT DO WELL WITH:·         Livestock – Lucy has a history of chasing livestock; however, she has never killed or injured another animal.THE REST OF THE IMPORTANT DETAILSLucy is spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations.  She will be microchipped before adoption.  Lucy is currently in Aurora, Oregon. Her adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in adopting Lucy and are pre-approved, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com. If you are not already approved, you can fill out an application here:https://www.herduneededahome.com/adopting-with-hunah-1
