Story
Born approx. June 2020, Edwinn is a male Border Collie. He came to us afraid of the outside world and lacking confidence. He has made marked improvements in his foster home and is now ready to find his forever family. Edwinn is potty and crate trained. He is happiest when he is with his people and other dogs, for this reason, we will require Edwinn goes to a home with another confident dog to continue giving him guidance and reassurance. We also are seeking a cat free home for him. Edwinn's forever home must have a secure 6 foot fence and one that will keep him active and mentally stimulated, breed experience is a huge bonus. Edwinn will do best in a home with adults or adults and kids over 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Connor is ready for a home of his own! This boy is was born December 2018 and is a Border Collie mix. Connor struggles with insecurities and has a hard time meeting new people-but let me tell you that once you’ve made his “friends list” it’s for life! He will never let you down or leave you alone 😂😂 Connor would do well with a confident canine companion but would also be fine as an only dog. While he currently lives with dog savvy cats, he may not do well with new feline friends. Connor is not a dog that will ever enjoy going to dog parks, outdoor eateries, etc. That's not his scene. He prefers being with his family at home. He's an introvert's dream dog! 😉 He needs a calmer home with structure and routine, for this reason, a home without young children is best. Connor is potty, leash, and crate trained. He is still working on basic commands like sit, down, etc. He loves chew toys and treats. He will play tug-o-war but hasn't mastered fetch. We do require home ownership and a 6 foot fenced yard-no children under age 10. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
...Talia was found as a stray by a member of the community on South Union Street in Kennewick.Talia is now spayed and ready to go home today!Talia currently weighs about 34 pounds and is the definition of energy. This girl approaches life at full speed and with complete enthusiasm. Whether she`s meeting new people, hunting down treats, rolling around in the grass, or exploring the world around her, Talia is all in.She absolutely loves people and is very food motivated, which should help tremendously as she continues learning her manners and basic training. At this point, she does not appear to have had much formal training, but she`s young, eager, and has plenty of potential for someone willing to put in the time and consistency. One thing that stands out about Talia is that despite all her excitement, she is a fantastic medium size. Big enough to join you on adventures but small enough to be manageable, she`s a great fit for someone looking for an active companion.Since arriving at the shelter, Talia has done well around other dogs during meet and greets, though her energy level can be a lot for some dogs. Meet and greets are required with any dogs currently living in the home prior to adoption.Since Talia was found as a stray, her history with other dogs or cats is unknown.Talia`s adoption fee is $50. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.If you`re looking for a fun, active dog who is ready to take on the world with you, come meet Talia!

Story
Meet Skinny, a one-year-old Border Collie/Husky mix weighing 63 pounds.Skinny is a gentle soul who’s ready for a fresh start. Skinny was found as a stray after spending about a week on the run before animal control was finally able to bring him to safety. Since arriving, he has shown himself to be a very sweet boy, though the world is still a little overwhelming for him right now.Everything seems new to Skinny, and while he can be nervous in unfamiliar situations, he truly wants to please and looks to people for reassurance. Despite likely having very little experience before coming in, he has already surprised everyone by walking nicely on a leash and trying his best to learn.Skinny will thrive in a patient, caring home that can give him the time, love, and socialization he needs to build confidence. With some TLC, gentle guidance, and consistency, this sweet boy has all the potential to become a loyal and loving companion. This pet is available for adoption on 5/24/2026 3:22 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
