Story
Rosy was a stray found in Stockton. She was just a puppy and had already had a litter. She was a terrified little thing, and we had to give her a chance at a better life. We cleaned her up, got her fixed, all shots up to date, and gave her lots of love. She has since turned into the puppy she was meant to be. She is a mix of several breeds but looks most like a terrier. She loves to hunt and chase and enjoys sniff walks. She is not very social with other dogs or cats. She will sit next to me at the dog park and ignore them. She is not aggressive at all, nor a big barker. She loves our cat... he does not love her, but they seem to secretly have fun together. The cat chases her more! She is very sweet and loves her belly rubbed. She is still a puppy and likes to mouth things and nibble. We are trying to get her to not do this. She clearly never had toys before because she has no idea what to do with them, but she loves shoes, toilet paper, and boxes!!

Story
Grateful Dogs Rescue is seeking a foster or adoptive home for sweet senior Muffin. Muffin was adopted from GDR in 2017 by a wonderful man who took in the shy dogs and the grumbly dogs. Muffin was on the shy dogs that Francis took and loved. Unfortunately, Muffin's dad passed away, and she came back to Grateful Dogs. Muffin is 14-15 years old. She's just 11 lbs. Muffin asks for very little. Sun spots, a yard or patio and lots of treats. She also would love to "sneak" up on your bed if you aren't home. First time, her foster found her on the bed was a big surprise. It made us smile to see her seek out the comfiest spot in the house. Muffin is very shy and so she is not one to cuddle or claim a spot on your lap. She has never been comfortable being held or on a lap. She does like to be brushed and needs it with the cute crazy fur of hers!  If you are open to letting a little geriatric dog hang at your home, please consider Muffin. She is potty trained. She goes outside due do her thing but at night, she will use the piddle pad. Muffin is quiet. Muffin has no separation anxiety.  Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for MUFFIN is $200. If you are interested in adopting MUFFIN, please complete our online adoption application at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/   . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.  August 19, 2026, 12:14 pm

Story
Hi, I'm Mash! If you're looking for a fun-loving sidekick who's always ready for an adventure, I might be your guy! I love to play, explore, and stay active, and I'm happiest when I have something to do and someone to do it with. That said, I'm not all go-go-go. I'm pretty good at reading the room. If it's time for fun, I'm all in—but if everyone's relaxing on the couch, I'm happy to settle down and enjoy the quiet too. I like having a balance of playtime and downtime. When it comes to meeting new dogs, I can be a little nervous at first. I appreciate slow introductions and a chance to get comfortable. Once I feel secure, though, I really enjoy having a canine friend around and would love a home with another friendly dog to keep me company. I'm a great dog with a lot of love to give, and I think I'd do best in a home with older kids who can join me for playtime and adventures while also understanding when I need a little patience as I adjust to new situations. More than anything, I'm looking for a family that will make me part of the pack—a place where I can play hard, relax easy, and be loved for exactly who I am. Do you think we could be a match? Love, Mash "Adventure buddy by day, cuddle companion by night—that's my kind of life!"

Story
(📍San Francisco,CA)Why we are looking for a new home:I adopted Boo from a rescue in February, five months after losing my 15-year-old senior dog. My 8-year-old cat had been best friends with my late dog, and after she showed signs of mourning, I thought another dog might help. Unfortunately, my cat has not adjusted well to Boo and spends most of her time hiding when he’s around. I don’t think it’s fair to either of them. It’s also become clear that a young dog needs more time, training, and attention than my senior dog did. I work 10-hour days most weeks and can’t give Boo the consistency he deserves.About Boo:Boo is truly a wonderful dog, which makes this incredibly difficult. He is sweet, cuddly, playful, and crate trained. He needs 3–4 walks a day, and we’ve been working on potty training. My work hours make it difficult to take him out as often as needed. I want him in a home where he can thrive with someone who has the time, patience, and commitment to be home more often.
