Story
George was found on my company campus, in January. He was very cold, malnourished and visibly neglected; no collar and with confirmation from the vet, no microchip. George was immediately examined, at Banfield Hospital in King of Prussia, they ran blood panels, physical assessment and additional testing - all results were clear and healthy. The vet says he is 6 months-1 year old. He was 21 pounds with almost 1 pound of matted hair patches all over his body. Rabies and Distemper vaccines on 1/23 and full groom session 1/24. He's eating and drinking well, improving on understanding simple commands and currently being crate trained. He's not fully house trained but is gaining a better understanding on how things work (bathroom outside vs. in the house). He's very sweet and still scared. We need to rehome him because he's not taking to my 6-year-old son and that's not fair to either of them. Waiting on DNA results - breed is guessed by look. Fee is to help with some of vet fees

Story
Jelly, a 3 year old, 14 pound Border Terrier mix is very skittish at first and super shy.His foster says, &#194&#147 I personally don't think he was used to human touch; we have been working very hard to make him familiar with us, and to accept our affection. He now lets us pick him up, he loves to be held and get scratches, he will run to the gate whenever we come in, and he gives us a little bark to say hey!!! Success! We do think he needs to go to a home where it is just him and his owners, to be a less stressful environment. (He is also crate trained)&#194&#148. Do you think you can offer this boy such an environment? (Posted 3/15/ 26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **March 19, 2026, 5:17 pm

Please read the bio in full for answers to common questions. If you have a question not covered here, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/. Because all of our dogs live in foster homes, meet-and-greets are scheduled only after a completed application is received. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance of Mays Landing, NJ so our volunteers can conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Brodie 🐾 Brodie is an 11–12 year old, 8-lb terrier mix. He is fully housebroken, leash trained, and absolutely loves being with his person. He enjoys walks, cuddling, and spending time close to his human. He sleeps in a dog bed and would do fine in a home without a yard. That said, Brodie is a behaviorally complex dog and will require an experienced adopter. He has a history of biting and is not appropriate for homes with children. He can be nippy, especially if: • He is startled • He is forced to do something uncomfortable or painful (he has arthritis) • He is having his eyes handled (dry eye care is part of his routine) • He feels pressured or overwhelmed Because of this, nippy dog experience is absolutely required. He needs someone who understands canine body language, respects boundaries, and is committed to management and structure. Brodie is also sensitive to loud noises and can seem fearful of certain situations. He appears to carry some past stress, but with routine, predictability, and calm handling, he does well. His ideal home is quiet, consistent, and willing to follow clear guidelines. He is: • Good with dogs and cats • Not suitable for children • A cuddle-loving couch companion • Sensitive but sweet when he feels safe Medical notes: • On dry eye medication, Rimadyl, and Gabapentin (~$50/month) • Stairs are not recommended Brodie is not a beginner dog. He is not a casual adoption. He is looking for the right experienced home that understands that his needs come first. If you love seasoned, sensitive little dogs and have experience with dogs who need structure and respect, Brodie may be your guy. 🐾
