She's house-trained, enjoys the company of other dogs, loves children, and has so much affection to give. And one more thing worth celebrating: Dove has officially completed her heartworm treatment! 🎉 She's done the hard part. Now she's just waiting for the best part.m Her very own person. Her forever home. Her happily-ever-after. Could that be you? Don't let Dove keep waiting. She's ready to be someone's whole world. ❤ï¸Â Dove is around 2-3 yr old Terrier mix .Her hair is not wired it is soft . Story
Scout is a beautiful, fun-loving girl looking for a new family to call her own!Scout currently weighs approximately 25 pounds and is about 11 months old. We believe she is some sort of scruffy terrier mix, but her exact breed mix is anyone’s guess! She has a very unique look, with beautiful coloring and gorgeous blue eyes that make her stand out from the crowd.Scout’s family has made the difficult decision to rehome her due to a change in work schedules and limited help at home because of a family member’s allergies.Scout is a very friendly, social girl who loves everyone she meets! She adores both adults and children and is always excited to make new friends. She also loves other dogs and enjoys playing with pups of all sizes, both on and off leash. She has even learned to respect dogs who aren’t interested in playing. This smart girl knows lots of commands, including sit, stay, come, back up, go to your room, go potty, leave it, and drop it. She’s house trained and crate trained, although her crate is affectionately known as her “room.” She sleeps there and is comfortable going in when left home alone.Scout is good on leash and enjoys walks, beach outings, and even running alongside a bike! She does need some continued reinforcement with pulling and jumping up when greeting people, but she responds well to consistent boundaries and positive reinforcement.Like many young dogs, Scout is still learning what is and isn’t appropriate to chew. She generally knows to stick to her toys but will need a home that keeps tempting items like shoes and electronics out of reach. She has not been around cats, so we don’t know how she would do with them.Scout’s ideal home would be an active, loving family where everyone can participate in her training and continue reinforcing good manners. She would absolutely love having another playful dog in the home, but a family without a dog could also be a great fit as long as they are committed to giving her plenty of opportunities for doggy socialization.Scout is a wonderful young dog with so much love to give! She’s friendly, smart, playful, and eager to be part of a family. She’s just looking for a home that can give her the time, attention, and companionship she deserves. Story
Meet Leo! Leo is a 5–6-month-old scruffy terrier mix weighing about 20 pounds. He should be a medium-sized dog when fully grown.Leo can be shy and nervous at first, but once he trusts you, he is the sweetest boy! He loves being near his people and will happily hang out under your desk while you work. He learns routines quickly and is doing great with potty training!Leo LOVES other dogs and especially adores his little girl foster friend. He would love a playful dog sibling in his forever home. He also enjoys playing with toys, carrying them around outside, and keeping watch out the window. Leo would do best with a patient family who understands that he needs time to warm up. Older, respectful kids (14+) may be okay, as long as they understand his nervousness and give him space.Once Leo trusts you, you’ll have a very sweet, loyal little companion. He’s ready to find a family who will help him feel safe and loved forever! Apply to meet Leo at www.bcaaofnj.org!Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
Tiffany and Dodger are an adorable bonded pair searching for a family who will open their heart and home to both of them. Our Rescue took them in when they were dumped on a dirt road in a rural area of SC. These sweet little border terrier mixes are approximately 2.5 years old and apx 15 pounds each. They are dog friendly, kid friendly, and perfectly sized to fit beside you on the couch—and into your heart. Tiffany is the precious darker girl with the white markings while Dodger is the handsome tan boy with the adorable upright ears. They each have their own special personality, but what truly makes them shine is the love and comfort they find in one another. They have already built a beautiful bond and depend on each other for companionship and security. Separating them would mean taking away the one constant they know, so they are looking for a forever home where they can remain together. Two little dogs may mean twice the paws, but it also means twice the love, twice the cuddles, and twice the happiness. Tiffany and Dodger aren’t asking for much—just one family willing to promise that their best friendship will never have to end. 💜🐾 ———————————- ❗️Important note about the adoption fee: This pair are among the handful of Arcadia Animal Rescue’s “Hero Dogs” and we want to explain what that means. Arcadia has helped save thousands of animals and currently have over 250 on our caseload. We are run by unpaid volunteers and our only form of income is adoption fees and donations. Yet we continue to take in the animals who are the most overlooked—the pitties and other large breeds who take longer to place, all the while continuing to provide medical care, medications, training and/or boarding when needed, food/supplies, transport, etc. for as long as it takes to get them adopted. Instead of going to a breeder who is profiting off the lives of these animals, by adopting a “Hero Dog”, you are literally saving not just one, but the lives of many others since every single dollar goes directly to the care of the animals in the rescue. The funds that a “Hero Dog” brings in to the rescue are *critically* needed now more than ever, and it gives us the ability to say yes to the next animal who needs help. Thank you for partnering with us in this mission to save these innocent lives!
