Bada’s journey is one of resilience, joy, and second chances. This lovable pup came all the way from Korea, where he arrived to our partner rescue with a fractured front leg. Unfortunately, the injury became infected due to the extreme heat and humidity, but they knew we couldn’t leave him behind. After rescuing him, it was discovered that his bone had healed improperly, and Bada needed surgery to correct it. Now, after a successful recovery, Bada is living it up in Illinois as a happy, healthy dog who’s ready to leap, run, and enjoy life to the fullest! Bada has a bright, outgoing personality and is full of energy. He’s not shy about anything—he’s all about making new friends and jumping right into playtime! Whether it's chasing after a ball or running around with a fellow dog, Bada is always up for some fun. His exuberance and excitement are contagious! This sweet boy has a friendly nature that makes him warm up quickly to people. Bada is best suited for a home with energetic and playful dogs who can match his playful pace, as he can be a bit too much for more laid-back pups. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, joyful dog who’s ready to shower you with affection and never stops running with joy, Bada is your guy! Just like the title character in the children’s book Corduroy, Apricot Ringo is cute as a button and just wants to go to a home with someone who will cherish him. He has that little kid innocence and really wants to engage but the world can be scary sometimes. And like little kids he sometimes messes up but that’s because he’s still learning. He gets along with other dogs, especially small ones. He’s starting to open up and find out how to play with others. He does sleep in his crate and will walk on a leash. There’s so much more he can learn in the right home. With a little patience he will make the most adorable, cuddly, and devoted companion. He will also need an adopter devoted to his health needs as they change over time. Ringo has a severe luxating patella that may require surgical intervention in the future. She’ll need a patient, understanding adopter who can help support her mobility and overall well-being. Despite her medical needs, Ringo’s cheerful personality shines through, and she’s ready to share her love and joy with a family who can provide the care she deserves. This 7-year-old mini poodle mix, transferred from Chicago Animal Control as a stray, has faced more than his share of challenges: blind and with dry eye disease in one eye (managed with lifelong medication), he’s still the epitome of trust, sweetness, and resilience. Recently, Minty had an incredible grooming glow-up, and he’s looking better — and feeling better — than ever. Despite his visual limitations, he navigates the world with confidence and curiosity, always eager to meet new friends and share gentle snuggles. Minty is searching for a patient, loving home that will appreciate his calm, trusting nature, keep up with his medical needs, and reward him with endless cuddles and quiet companionship. He may need a little extra guidance, but the love he gives in return is immeasurable. Bring Minty home, and you’ll find a loyal, affectionate companion whose heart is as sparkling as his new look. Dog Day Out Review: "Minty is truly as sweet as can be. He was great in the car, and just stayed in his little car seat bed and didn’t make a peep. He got a bath prior and loved to roll around in the blanket that I brought for him. It was so cute! He loves to be held! He is extremely calm, and fell asleep a few times in the sun during our time together. Whether it was in my lap, in the grass or in his bed, I don’t think he really cared where he was, he just loved to relax in the sun! Super easy going. Despite his vision impairment he loved to be outside. He was good on leash too, didn’t pull and was easy to redirect when he was going in circles :) Such a gentle soul!" Sleepover review: "Has not made a single peep (no barking or crying), he is super quiet! Slept the entire night in his gated area He is obsessed with blankets. All he wants to do is snuggle up and bury himself into a ton of blankets. The key to Minty’s heart = blankets! He doesn’t really go on “walks” moreso just enrichment sniffing outside. He will bump into things so just be cautious on that of course! Fully potty trained !!!! Despite him being blind, he’s really easy going :) and also easy to take care of He’s special in his own way. He’s kind of more like a cat lol but in the best way possible."
