Unfortunately, the injury became infected due to the extreme heat and humidity, but they knew we couldn’t leave him behind. After rescuing him, it was discovered that his bone had healed improperly, and Bada needed surgery to correct it. Now, after a successful recovery, Bada is living it up in Illinois as a happy, healthy dog who’s ready to leap, run, and enjoy life to the fullest! Bada has a bright, outgoing personality and is full of energy. He’s not shy about anything—he’s all about making new friends and jumping right into playtime! Whether it's chasing after a ball or running around with a fellow dog, Bada is always up for some fun. His exuberance and excitement are contagious! This sweet boy has a friendly nature that makes him warm up quickly to people. Bada is best suited for a home with energetic and playful dogs who can match his playful pace, as he can be a bit too much for more laid-back pups. He has interacted quite well on two play dates and was observed to initiate play with a somewhat smaller dog. Treats have been inadvertently left in accessible places and he has not bothered them. Leash manners need some work but was better with a no pull harness."

Here is what Rex’s foster family had to say: “Temperament: Rex is very quiet- I still haven't heard him make a sound! He's very gentle and a bit clingy. He follows his people around every chance he gets and he's very sweet. He doesn't seem attached to his foster brother but they get along just fine. He's also very low energy which is surprising. Rex will need a home in a quiet place - the hustle and bustle of city living and loud noises is not for him. Training Needs: Potty training is pretty much there and he's still doing great walking on a leash (he walks a bit slowly though). He has started some new behaviors like jumping on cabinets to see what's on the counter, and we're making sure to stop that as much as possible. He is afraid of stairs and we've paused working on it for now because it was a major struggle, and he doesn't really need to go upstairs. I'd like to him to learn eventually though Adorable behaviors: He loves belly rubs and just any rubs in general. If you stop, he gets closer and sort of nudges you to keep going and it's hilarious. His nesting sometimes gets so intense that it's funny (other times it's kinda annoying) and I love when he sits with his paws crossed 🐾 Since January 11th, Rex has made tons of progress in my house and I'm so proud of him. I think he would do best in a quiet household, and it would be good for people to know how low energy he is because Aussies have a reputation of being the opposite. He's very easy to take care of and he doesn't necessarily need another dog in the house IMO. I think my dog is helping him through the foster process but once he's adopted he should be fine being the only dog. He seems to be way more attached to people. Attached are some more updated pics.
