🐾 Meet Amos! 🐾
Looking for an adventure buddy who can keep up with your active lifestyle AND double as your favorite snuggle partner? Amos might just be your perfect match! 🐶❤️
Amos is a handsome black-and-white Border Collie mix, approximately 7 months old and weighing around 50 pounds. He's a happy, playful, curious youngster with a whole lot of puppy enthusiasm and an equally impressive amount of love to give!
This sweet boy was found wandering as a stray in KCK. The kindhearted person who found him searched for his family through lost-and-found pages, but sadly, no one came forward. Now Amos is getting a fresh start with Melissa's Second Chances, and he's ready to find the forever family who will never let him go. ❤️
And what a wonderful companion he's already proving to be!
Amos loves to play, explore, and stay busy. He's a very high-energy young dog who approaches life with curiosity and excitement, and he'd thrive with an active family who can provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to learn.
But here's the really adorable part: Once Amos has had a chance to burn off that puppy energy, he transforms into an absolute snuggle bug! 🥰
That's right. This enthusiastic adventurer has a wonderfully affectionate side, too. After a busy day of playing and exploring, he's ready to settle in for some well-earned cuddle time.
Amos is also quite the social butterfly!
🐾 Other dogs? He gets along wonderfully with his canine companions! He enjoys their company and does great sharing space and even water bowls.
🐾 Cats? He's met a cat in his foster home and seems more fascinated than anything else! He's curious and interested, but hasn't shown any chasing, jumping at the cat, or other signs of prey drive.
🐾 Kids? Amos is great with children! However, he's still a big, bouncy puppy who can get jumpy when excited. His foster recommends a home with older children, since his enthusiasm could accidentally knock over a smaller child.
And Amos is already developing some wonderful household habits! He's crate trained, sleeps peacefully in his kennel through the entire night, and hasn't had any overnight accidents. What a good boy! 🌟
There is one important thing his future family should know: Amos can be protective of his own food bowl around other dogs. His foster has found that feeding the dogs separately works very well, and with that simple routine in place, Amos gets along beautifully with his canine friends. He has no trouble sharing water, either! His future family should be prepared to continue feeding him separately from other pets so everyone can enjoy mealtime comfortably.
At his age, Amos is still very much a puppy, and he's going to need continued guidance, patience, and positive reinforcement as he grows. His ideal family will appreciate his intelligence, embrace his enthusiasm, and help him channel all that wonderful energy into becoming the best dog he can be.
And in return?
They'll get an enthusiastic playmate, an eager explorer, a loving cuddle buddy, and a whole lot of puppy personality all rolled into one very handsome package. ❤️
Amos has already experienced what it's like to be without a family. Now he's ready for a lifetime of adventures, belly rubs, cozy naps, and people who will love him forever.
