Story
Meet Bairn, an energetic and enthusiastic dog in search of an active, confident owner. Bairn has a zest for life and loves to stay busy, whether it’s going for runs, long walks, swimming, or cuddling with his favorite people. He thrives on learning new things and is a quick learner—definitely a smart cookie! Bairn is reactive to new people, other dogs, and some vehicles, so he will need to be walked with a muzzle as a precaution. However, his reactivity can be managed with consistent training, energy-draining activities, keeping a safe distance from triggers, and positive reinforcement for good behavior. When his mind is engaged and his energy is properly channeled, Bairn is much more balanced and in control. This wonderful boy will need a dedicated owner who is committed to continuing his training and giving him the structure he needs. While Bairn may not be immediately friendly with new people, he just needs time and slow, controlled introductions to build trust. Once he bonds with you, he’ll show you his goofy, lovable side. Bairn is looking for a home with a fully fenced yard, where he can thrive in a calm and structured environment. He would do best in a home without small children or other dogs. With patience and understanding, Bairn will prove to be the best companion you could ask for!

Story
Ollie and Lulu were surrendered to us when their owner no longer had the time to care for them. They both had untreated medical issues and severe dental disease, leaving them extremely uncomfortable and lethargic. After receiving treatment they became almost entirely different dogs. Ollie and Lulu may be seniors but they sure do like to go for walks and run around the yard together. They are a volunteer favourite because of their goofy and sweet dispositions. They are selective with dogs and would only do well in a home with another calm dog that does not intimidate or become rough with them. Ollie does bark at other dogs in passing, while Lulu ignores them. Ollie and Lulu would do well in just about any home. They have been great with respectful children that are experienced with dogs. Lulu can sometimes have grumpy moments when she wants her space to nap. It's important to look for the obvious signs when she needs alone time. Ollie is always happy and ready for a cuddle. This cute duo have great house manners, they frequently go on sleepovers with our dedicated volunteers who report they are always on their best behaviour. Story
Oakley is a sweet, very well-behaved, curious young girl. She loves people, and bonds strongly with her person. She is very calm for her age. She can amuse herself very well by playing with stuffies, chew toys, and relaxing on her bed. She also loves to be wherever her people are. She is a total cuddle bug who loves to lie next to you, and on you! She gives tons of kisses and has amazing eye-contact with her gorgeous light brown eyes. She knows her name and will come when called. She knows several commands, and learns quickly. Oakley loves walks, going to the dog park, and sniffing around the backyard. She has adjusted to being on a leash, and usually only pulls when she sees a small animal. She eats and sleeps well, enjoys being brushed, and is completely house-trained. Shes friendly and gentle when meeting new people, including children, and other dogs. She would love a forever home where she can give and receive tons of love! She will make a wonderful addition to any family. Please visit our website www.pawsaboverescue.ca to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
