Rosco has already been through more than most dogs ever should, but you’d never know it from the joy in his smile. This resilient little Boston Terrier survived the heartbreaking loss of not one, but two owners who passed away. An independent rescuer in Bakersfield took him in, but with too many dogs already in her care, she reached out to our team so Rosco could finally find the forever home he truly deserves. We’re really hoping the third time’s a charm for this special guy. When he first arrived, we got him a much needed dental. The vet removed 5 of his teeth, but he took it like a champ! Rosco is 6 years old and weighs 16 pounds. He’s incredibly sweet, friendly, and loves attention and pets. He has wonderful manners, is very patient, and greets people with the cutest smile. Rosco also adores lap time, snuggles, and burrowing under the covers. He’s a great walker too! He loves to explore, and is doing great pottying outside. Rosco is also easy going, gentle and does well with other dogs and kids. He would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. Fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Rosco is ready for a final loving and stable home to call his own! More from his foster: Roscoe is a sweet, calm dog with so much love to give. I’m about 8 months old now and already 50 pounds—so I’ll be a solid, medium-to-large companion. I have lots of energy and would thrive with someone who enjoys playtime, walks, and maybe even another dog to wrestle or cuddle with. I’m also super affectionate, and when I get one-on-one attention, I can be pretty calm and cuddly too. She ended up at a high-kill shelter but was thankfully rescued just in time. Since then, she’s been living in a private shelter with many other dogs, charming everyone with her affectionate personality. Now, she’s ready to find a forever family of her own! • Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Goofy Moana is truly one of a kind. She quickly won the hearts of volunteers with her gentle, loving nature. She follows people around like a little shadow, happily greeting everyone—even strangers—with tail wags and affection. Moana thrives on human interaction and loves tug-of-war, belly rubs, and being the center of attention. Her energy level is moderate, making her a great balance of playful and calm. • Affinity with - Dogs: Moana is incredibly social—not just with people, but with dogs, too. She’s often the first to welcome new arrivals at the shelter, helping them feel safe and at ease. While she would thrive as the only dog in the home, Moana also does best with calm dog companions. - Cats: Not tested with cats - Adults/Kids: Great with adults / She hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but based on her gentle demeanor, we believe she’d do well with respectful children. • Walking Manners: Moana has also started practicing her leash skills and is doing great! She underwent successful surgery for an inguinal hernia in Mar 2025 and has fully recovered. She has a clean bill of health and is ready for her new adventure!
