Story
Tina may be a little unsure of the world at first, but once she decides you’re her person, prepare to become her entire world.
This sweet girl can be nervous around new people and tends to be on the anxious side, but she has been kind and gentle with everyone she’s met. With the people she trusts, Tina is incredibly affectionate and has absolutely no concept of personal space. She wants to be as close as possible, whether that means cuddling against your neck on the couch, wrapping her paws around your arm during belly rubs, or placing a paw right on your cheek to make sure you know she’s there.
At bedtime, Tina is more than happy to join you. She sleeps in bed, loves burrowing underneath the covers, and has already perfected the art of being an adorable little bed hog.
Once she’s feeling comfortable, Tina has a surprisingly playful and energetic side. She loves zipping around the house, running up the stairs with her toys, sniffing everything she can find, and throwing herself onto her back in some truly creative positions when she decides it’s time for pets. She’s curious, playful, and has the energy of a puppy — just without quite as much of the chewing and potty-training chaos!
Tina has been doing well with her potty training and seems to understand that outside is where she’s supposed to go. She’s still learning about leash walking and is currently pretty nervous when asked to walk, so her foster family has been carrying her while she gradually builds confidence. A little patience, basic training, and positive experiences will go a long way in helping her feel more secure. She also likes to announce when someone is outside, so her future family should expect the occasional little watchdog report.
What she really needs is a patient home that will give her time to adjust, help her discover that the world isn’t quite so scary, and appreciate just how much affection she has to give once she feels safe.
Tina may need a little encouragement to come out of her shell, but underneath that nervousness is a goofy, cuddly, playful little companion who is very ready to love her people with her whole heart.
They were rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.

Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by using the link in their approval email. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog.
If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded.
Adoption fees are non refundable once a pet is taken home.
Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.
The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up in Colorado, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances delaying pick up.
