Story
My adoption fee is 75% off thanks to a grant from the Petfinder Foundation. So, it would only be $50 to make me a part of your family and give me a new chance at a joyful life! Hi, I'm Romeo! I was brought here as a tiny puppy from a place where I was barely getting fed. I was adopted shortly after and recently got returned due to weird circumstances. I suddenly had two injuries- one was my eye which needs to be removed and the other is much more. I have a torn cruciate ligament. The shelter is currently raising money to pay for my surgery but I will need a place to stay for 6-8 weeks with cage rest so I can recover. I'm a sweet boy and get along with everyone, even livestock!  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2352756##

Story
Meet Faith, a sweet and gentle young Boston Terrier with a heart of gold. Though she is possibly deaf and a bit shy at first, her affectionate nature shines through once she feels safe. She is looking for a quiet, patient home where she can decompress and bond deeply with her new family. Faith would make the perfect, loyal lap dog for a calm household. She is very submissive and seems interested in other dogs. She is curious about new surroundings and has a very quiet demeanor. An ideal home would be a calm, patient environment.❤️🐾

Story
Karma and Journey are beautiful little Boston Terrier/Frenchie mixes (with perhaps some Chihuahua?), approximately 6 years old and around 15 lbs. Journey is a little more stocky, and Karma is taller and more lean. They wouldn't mind a home together but they do have different needs and lifestyles with Karma playing running and being silly with everyone she meets and Journey being more calm, snuggly and reserved with other dogs. They were surrendered to us, because sadly, their person becoming so sick, they could no longer care for them properly. So they are well adjusted to home life, and definitely well loved dogs! They very seldom bark. They are so sweet and love to please. Karma gets on her hind legs to beg for treats or pets and journey is a little tank of wiggles. They don't mind cats and love kids, too! Cuddling on the couch is a must, and playtime and tricks for treats are fun for them as well. Come meet these delightful little dogs! You will be thrilled you did!

Story
Sometimes, when a person dies, there are little lives left behind who don't understand where their person went—or why everything they knew has suddenly disappeared. Meet Jessie a sweet Boston Terrier who, along with Allie, lost her beloved owner in December. For months, their neighbors rallied around them, taking turns feeding and caring for the girls and doing everything they could to keep them safe. They were their little community's responsibility, and everyone pitched in because no one wanted these two senior girls to go to the shelter. But recently, the house sold. Jessie and Allie had to leave the only home they knew. Thankfully, a kind foster stepped up and gave them a safe place to land. But it's only temporary, and these two little souls desperately need a permanent home. Jessie is 14 years old and weighs just 14 pounds. She is a tiny little lady with a big heart. She takes Novox and Tramadol for neck pain, but otherwise she's a sweet, easy companion. She is spayed and current on vaccinations. Neither girl is particularly fond of cats, so a feline-free home would be best. They are not bonded and in their foster home are not bothered when they are separated so they do not need to be adopted together. If you would like to adopt, please complete an application at:  https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/  Adoption Fee: $50  Includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip. ##2820694##
