Story
Some dogs have personalities that are impossible to put into words... until you meet Thor Goodwin. He's the kind of dog that somehow manages to make every day feel a little happier just by being himself. Whether he's bouncing around with excitement because someone picked up a tennis ball, proudly showing off his latest game of fetch, or simply greeting you with his goofy grin and wagging tail, Thor has a way of making everyone around him smile. He's joyful, funny, endlessly entertaining, and genuinely seems to believe that every single day is the best day ever. If you're looking for a dog that brings laughter, adventure, and plenty of personality wherever he goes, Thor is ready for the job. Watch his video and prepare to fall in love with this happy-go-lucky goofball: https://youtu.be/UXNXVX_W_Os?si=jWoURWLMyvEhd96d Thor is approximately 2 years old, currently weighs around 29 lbs, and we believe he may be a Boston Terrier mix. As with any rescue dog, breed is always a bit of a mystery, but one thing we know for sure is that Thor is 100% awesome. Thor is currently being fostered with a family that has both a 3-year-old and a 13-year-old, and it's safe to say he bounced right into that “family” dynamic seamlessly. In fact, he and the 13-year-old are practically attached at the hip. Whether they're outside playing fetch, tossing toys around the backyard, or simply hanging out together, they're almost always side by side. His foster truly believes he'd make an incredible family dog, and after spending time with him, it's easy to understand why. One of Thor's favorite things in the world is playing fetch. Throw a ball once, and you've officially made his day. He's also a toy enthusiast and loves any excuse to play. When playtime is over, though, he's perfectly content hanging out nearby with his people. He's affectionate without being overly clingy. Don't expect him to climb into your lap for hours at a time, but don't be surprised if he chooses the spot right beside you instead. Sometimes even close enough that your feet are touching. It's his quiet way of saying, "I'm happiest just being with you." If treats are involved, Thor is even more motivated. He's eager to please, already knows how to sit, and seems genuinely excited to learn. His foster says he'd do just about anything for a good snack, which makes training both fun and rewarding. Around the house, Thor has been a wonderful guest. While he doesn't use a crate in his foster home, he relaxes comfortably in the laundry room whenever the family leaves and has done beautifully there. He hasn't had accidents indoors, doesn't make messes, and his foster laughs that she almost always comes home to find he's carefully arranged his blankets into the perfect little nest before settling in for a nap. Apparently, comfort is serious business. Thor also shares his foster home with an older male Pug. Since the Pug isn't particularly interested in playing, the two mostly coexist peacefully and enjoy each other's company. If you'd like to learn more about how Thor might do with your dog, we're always happy to arrange a meet-and-greet with a dog similar to yours. Like any young dog, Thor is still polishing a few things. He gets so excited to see people that he sometimes jumps up to say hello, and when he's feeling especially playful, he can be a little mouthy with adults and the 13-year-old. Interestingly, his foster says he's incredibly gentle with the family's 3-year-old and seems to naturally understand that little humans require a softer approach. With continued consistency and positive reinforcement, we think he'll continue maturing into an exceptional companion. Thor would thrive with a family that's looking for a dog who knows how to make the most out of life. He's playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without being needy, and has the kind of joyful personality that's impossible not to love. If you've been searching for a best friend who will happily play fetch in the backyard, make you laugh on a daily basis, and remind you to find joy in the little things, Thor is more than ready to become part of your family. We are willing to test Thor Goodwin with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Female 10 weeks 9 pounds If there were an award for the cutest puppy ever, I’m pretty sure I’d win it! I’m full of puppy energy, endless tail wags, and I’m always looking for my next adventure. My favorite game? Chase! I’ll zoom around the yard as fast as my little legs can go and then come back for belly rubs and cuddles before we’re off again. I’m searching for a family that loves to laugh, play, and make memories together. If you’re looking for a fun-loving best friend with a face you can’t resist, I think we should meet. Ready? On your mark… get set… let’s play chase! This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Name: Harley Nickname: Tub. Tube. Tubey. Tubby Wubby. Wubbers. Breed: Mystery Mix. We can’t prove there’s Boston Terrier in there, but we also can’t prove there isn’t. Harley is basically a Boston Terrier that somebody accidentally printed at 150% scale. Age: 2.5 years Weight: 36 lbs (told you he was big for a Boston) Sex: Male Before OMD: Harley was found as a stray and ended up at the city shelter before making his way into an OMD foster home, where he’s been busy winning over everyone he meets. Energy Level: Harley is playful and energetic, but knows how to relax. He loves a good play session with his dog friends, then happily settles in for a nap afterward. What we love most: His incredibly sweet, affectionate personality and his expressive eyes. Harley often wears a hilariously concerned expression, as though he’s carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, despite living a life that mostly consists of snacks, naps, and cuddles. What he loves most: Blankets, chew toys, dog friends, vegetables, his people, and finding the coziest place possible to cuddle. Working on: Harley is working on his excitement manners. He gets so happy to meet new people that he sometimes forgets all four paws belong on the floor. Dogs: Excellent with other dogs and would strongly prefer a home with a canine companion. He loves to play, wrestle, and be part of the pack. Cats: Yes! Harley has lived with cats and generally leaves them alone. Kids: Yes. Harley is gentle and friendly with children, but because he can get excited and jump when greeting people, he’d do best with kids who won’t be easily knocked over while he continues working on his manners. House Trained: Yes, completely house trained with zero accidents. Crate Trained: Yes. Harley does great in his crate when home alone and settles quietly. What else: If you’re looking for a professional cuddle buddy, Harley is your guy. He doesn’t just like to snuggle…he fully commits to the lifestyle. Whether he’s burrowing under blankets, hiding beneath couch cushions, or sprawled upside down with his lips flopped over his face, Harley is guaranteed to keep you laughing. He’s playful, affectionate, goofy, and has never met a stranger. Between his permanent look of concern and his dedication to being as close to his people as possible, Harley has a way of making everyone fall in love with him. His dream home includes a comfy couch, a dog friend to play with, and humans who don’t mind sharing their personal space. Harley is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He’s available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If interested in adoption, please apply on our website

Story
Meet Frankie! 🐾 Frankie is a 5-year-old mixed-breed sweetheart who is looking for a family to call his own. This handsome "mega mutt" has all the qualities that make a wonderful companion and family dog. Frankie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, house trained, and crate trained. He has successfully lived with children, dogs, and cats and is known for his sweet, friendly personality. He enjoys being around his people and is happiest when he is included in everyday family life. Frankie's current family loves him dearly and has made the difficult decision to seek a new home for him due to changing family circumstances, including the demands of a growing family and multiple pets. This decision comes from a place of love and a desire to ensure Frankie receives the time, attention, and environment he deserves. Frankie is a well-mannered boy who has adapted beautifully to life in a home. He enjoys companionship, settles nicely indoors, and is already familiar with the routines that help dogs succeed in family environments. Like many dogs, he can become nervous during thunderstorms and fireworks and appreciates a safe, comforting place to relax when loud noises occur. If you're looking for a loyal companion who is already past the puppy stage and ready to become part of the family, Frankie may be the perfect match. He has so much love to give and is ready to start his next chapter with a family who will cherish him. Could Frankie be the missing piece your family has been looking for? If you are interested in learning more about Frankie, please contact SDBP CT Rescue. We would love to introduce you to this special boy.

Story
Our sweet Dixie was found as a stray on the loud and scary streets of Houston. She was brought to a high-kill shelter but was saved from euthanasia just in the nick of time. She was brought up to our foster in Salem OR, where, for the first time in her life, she was finally safe and loved. When we first met her, she was scared and unsure of the world around her. But today she is a HAPPY baby who loves playing with other dogs and soaking up all the love she can get. At first, she can be a little nervous around new humans, but with a little time and some yummy treats, she warms up pretty quickly. She is incredibly smart and highly food motivated. She learned how to walk on a leash in a single day and then how to "sit" the next day in just a couple of hours. She is a year old but still has the puppy playfulness and curiosity. She has learned to LOVE going for walks and running and playing with other dogs. But she also loves napping, chewing on her bones and snuggling on the couch. Dixie has the cutest underbite, which causes her lip to get caught on her teefs. Her nose has the slightest upturn, and her eyes are slightly turned outward. She is literally one-of-a kind, and we think she is just perfectly imperfect. She has been spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She is potty trained, leash trained, and crate trained. She is currently fostered with dogs and a cat, so we know she is good with them. Based on her docile temperament, we believe she would be perfect with kids too but may need some time to warm up before she played with them. Dixie is currently in a foster home in Salem, Oregon. She is available for meet and greets with approved applicants. Dogs like Dixie are the reason rescue matters. One chance can change everything. If you have fallen madly in love and would like to make this baby girl a part of your family, then please fill out an adoption application found at SpringBranchRescue.org or email rachel.springbranchrescue@gmail.com for more information about her. ##2735778##
