Story
Hi I'm Rosie! I'm an active 5 year old gal who loves to go for walks with the volunteers. I'd love to have a person who could spend time to bring me to training and help me learn all the things I didn't get to learn when I was little. Now that I'm an 'adult', I know just what kind of family would be best for me: since I can be a bit picky with other dogs, and guarded with my space, so I'd be best as the only dog in the family. Cats are probably not a good idea either! Even though I have a couple of special living needs, I'm a great gal who just needs a family to prove it to! When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm a Boxer mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs. Here's what the Ark volunteers say about me: Rosie is a very active dog and is protective of her space. She will do best in a home with someone that is active. She would benefit from some dog training. She needs to be in a home without any other dogs. She walks on leash well most of the time and loves to run and play. She is a good snuggles!

Story
Hi I'm Ruby! I'm a happy and active 5 year old gal who has Personality Plus+++!! I'm a bit on the petite side, just about 40 pounds. I absolutely love to go for walks with the volunteers, and I always make them laugh because I just MUST carry a toy with us as we go! I'm well behaved for my baths and even know a few commands! I do love people above all else, so I'm the kind of gal who doesn't want to share her people with others, so I'd do best with just me and my humans in our home. But the up side is that I'd get to give my family 100% of my affection and spend every second making them happy and laughing too! Here's what the Ark volunteers say about me: Ruby is a very sweet girl. She will need to be an only dog. Ruby loves a bath and knows a few commands. She really would just like to be your cuddle buddy. Even though I have a couple of special living needs, I'm a great gal who just needs a family to prove it to! When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm a petite American Bully/Terrier mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.

Hi I'm Lola!! I know, I look a little serious in my picture, but that's just because I'm exhausted!! My friends here at the Ark have put me through the ringer - teeth check, ear check, bath, vaccines, vet check, nail trim... the whole shebang and I passed everything with flying colors! Of all the stuff we did when I arrived, the part I liked the best was my personality test!! My personality test results say that I'm an extrovert, independent and most of all very, very loving. That's so very true! I'll lean on you and do everything I can to cover you with kisses! I'm only about a year old and 40 pounds so I'm about as big as I'm going to get, and the perfect size to fit right next to you and cuddle on the sofa because I do love to cuddle. Now, honestly I might be a bit picky if you want me to share you with other dogs, but we can work through that once I get settled in. When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm a Boxer/American Bully mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! ** Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. Story
We got Beau Bear at 8 weeks old for a livestock guardian dog, but this ball of love and laughs became a house pet real quick. If you're looking for a best friend for your moody teenager, he was to our 14 year old, or a companion that will always be happy to see you, down for a new adventure, and make you belly laugh, this is the dog for you. He has been raised with two cats that he has no issues with, and another male dog. Unfortunately, the other dog is the reason we have to part ways with our dear boy. They have been fighting ferociously and have made it clear only one will survive. Beau was NEVER the aggressor, but the other dog is older and will not allow himself to be rehomed if we tried. Beau loves his snuggles and a good squeeky toy. However, the toy won't last long. Historically he was always the lovebug with other dogs. We have had multiple dogs escape into our yard, and Beau would become fast friends with them.

Story
Hello everyone! This is Brody and he is a Boxer mix. He is a very good boy and very quiet. He would be considered a medium activity dog that needs at least 2 walks a day, along with some fetch in the backyard! He loves tennis balls, fetch, and tug of war, and long walks most. He is house trained. He loves being outside but is an indoor dog. He is the definition of a large lap dog who will love you for life and he deserves a good forever home. If you are looking for a true bond, and a best friend Brody is your boy! Contact A New Leash on Life to set up a meet and greet today! Temperament: -Dogs: Great with other dogs. -Cats: not sure, but with the proper introduction we suspect they could be very best friends. -Small children: tolerates them, but I would not recommend he live in a home with them. -Bond: Though he will do great with all other members of the family, he will bond with one person and they will be his forever. Ideal home situations: -A high, fenced in back yard big enough to throw a ball. -A doggy door would be a plus. Ideal Family situation: -Active owners that like taking their dog on adventures. -Empty nesters that want a big ole baby boi to enjoy their days with. -Someone who works from home is a plus. -A home with older children. -A home with other dogs.

Story
Delilah May is an almost six month old boxer mix puppy. She is about 40 lbs and all legs! She has big boxer energy and loves to play fetch, go on walks, and is a great running partner (She's been clocked at an 8 minute mile!). She gets along well with other dogs and would be great in a home with another bigger dog that wants a playmate to wrestle with. She should not be with small dogs or young children as she does not know her own strength and may accidentally run them over with excitement. Delilah will help keep your house spic and span—she’s never met a shoe or basket that she didn’t like. She is crate trained and knows basic commands. If you are interested in Delilah, please submit an application at forrescue.net/dog-application

I'll fatten him up some more don't you worry 😉.Heath is looking for his forever home where he will never be starved again. He's an older puppy/young adult who has already been fully vetted. He's a good boy who's working on perfecting his good boy skills. Good with dogs 🐕. Very interested in cats and likes to see them run....we're working on fixing that. If interested in Heath, you have a recent vet reference and a secure area for him to potty and play but realize he's a FOREVER FAMILY MEMBER and not disposable or temporary, you may apply online atMadisonARF.orgHis adoption fee is $350
