Story
Hi I'm Ruby! I'm a happy and active 5 year old gal who has Personality Plus+++!! I'm a bit on the petite side, just about 40 pounds. I absolutely love to go for walks with the volunteers, and I always make them laugh because I just MUST carry a toy with us as we go! I'm well behaved for my baths and even know a few commands! I do love people above all else, and I'm friendly with big and little people too! I might even sneak in a smooch if you let :)! I'd be fine in a home with older kids because I can be pretty spunky and excited when I play. I'm a little particular about some dogs, but some are just fine, so we can work though that. I'm a great little gal who just needs a family to prove it to! When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm a petite American Bully/Terrier mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs. September 7, 2024, 10:05 am

Story
Hi I'm Rosie! I'm an active 5 year old gal who loves to go for walks with the volunteers. I'd love to have a person who could spend time to bring me to training and help me learn all the things I didn't get to learn when I was little. Now that I'm an 'adult', I know just what kind of family would be best for me: since I can be a bit picky with other dogs, and guarded with my space, so I'd be best as the only dog in the family. Cats are probably not a good idea either! Even though I have a couple of special living needs, I'm a great gal who just needs a family to prove it to! When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm a Boxer mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs. Here's what the Ark volunteers say about me: Rosie is a very active dog and is protective of her space. She will do best in a home with someone that is active. She would benefit from some dog training. She needs to be in a home without any other dogs. She walks on leash well most of the time and loves to run and play. She is a good snuggles! September 7, 2024, 10:05 am

Story
Thor is a sweet boy. He's energetic and loves to play, but he also loves to cuddle and to get pats while snuggling. He loves car rides (he needs to ride in the back seat or he gets car sick) and playing outside. Thor's full name is Thor Ragnarok and he's a boxer mix. He does have separation anxiety. He has to go in his crate when his person goes anywhere, or he'll get into things. Some of the commands Thor knows: sit, stay, come, lay down, leave it, drop it, go get it, back up, quiet

Story
We adopted Brody from a shelter when he was just a puppy. He’s around 8 years old. He’s a lap dog who loves being inside! He’s not the type of dog to bark all night but he is protective over his humans! He is what we were told a pit/boxer mix. We live in a small apartment and now have a toddler. Brody deserves room to roam and more attention than we can give him. We’d love to find him a new place to call home.

Story
A beautiful brown and white, Earl is a 30-pound, 2-year-old Boxer mix. Very high energy, as can be expected with a young pup, Earl is so excited to see people that we have nicknamed him Happy Feet! We are taking care of his mild case of heartworms (what happens when any dog isn't on prevention). Once clear, he would be ideal for a family with school-age children to run and burn off excess energy. Would your kids like to meet a new best friend?

Story
So I adopted Beans from her previous owner and she was great and didn’t have any problems but she is not very fond of new dogs and that owner said she would really leave other dogs alone if they were knew. However this has not been the case and she has nipped at other dogs if they get in her space. With that being said Beans is an excellent dog outside of this behavior, and really just wants to be petted and be the center of attention.
