Story
Qira is a sweet Boxer mix that came to Faithful Friends Animal Advocates as a stray in March 2017, when she was 11 months old. After being at FFAA for whopping 3 years, she was finally adopted and had a home of her own for a couple of years before finding herself being abandoned when her family surrendered her to Animal Control. When Faithful Friends received the call that she was there, we gladly took her back, even though our heart was broken for this poor girl. Unfortunately when she came back to us the second time, she was blind in in her left eye, but she doesn’t let that slow her down!If you count the days Qira was here before being adopted (995 days) and the days she has been here since being brought back (561+ days), she has been here for a combined total of 1,562+ days. She has spent over 4 of her 7 years inside of a shelter and that is FAR too long. She NEEDS and deserves to get out of this stressful shelter environment and finally have the home she has always dreamed of. She loves her stuffed animals and to play tug of war. She also enjoys going for leisurely walks and is always ready to snuggle up on the couch! With the blindness in her left eye, she is occasionally prone to startling easily. Because of this, she would do best in a home without young children. She is not reactive towards other dogs when she is out and about, but she tends to be selective when meeting them up close--she doesn't like excitable, hyperactive dogs to be in her space.

Story
Melon came to the Haven of the Ozarks with another dog by the name of Cantaloupe they are two very shy, reserved pups that were found roaming a neighborhood. We later found out that their owner had passed away and that's why they were out roaming, probably in search of food and water. But lucky for them they picked the perfect neighborhood to seek out their basic needs because once everyone noticed them, they all came together and began putting out food, water and trying to gain their trust. This process took about two months because these two caught on to what people were trying to do and would not go into traps, they had set for them so they could get them to us so we could help these sweet pups try and understand that not all people are bad and that we just wanted to help. We at the Haven of the Ozarks believe that with a lot of time, basic training and patience that these two sweeties can grow to trust someone and be able to eventually live the happy healthy life's they deserve. We think that it would need to be someone that is willing to come out for a few days and spend time with them in their kennel and shower them with treats and love to gain trust before they went home just to make the transition from our shelter to a home easier on them. We've recently brought both pups into the office to hang out and Melon warms up much more quickly than his sister. His estimated DOB is 7/19/21. All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647....All pets have lifetime sanctuary at Haven of the Ozarks. If they cannot remain with their adopter, they must be returned to the Haven.Adoption fees are as follows: Puppies under the age of 6 months - $150Dogs weighing 30 pounds and less - $200Dogs over 6 months old- $90Cats under the age of 6 months old - $75Cats over the age of 6 months old - $65

Story
Joy came to us literally from a joyous occasion!Joy was found at a wedding venue with her 11 puppies, hidden under a deck having just given birth. A photographer saw her struggling to feed her babies and was her hero, and brought her into Big Paws .She is a boxer/mastiff/lab with a reverse brindle coat that has grown more and more beautiful as she recovers from raising those puppies. She was a doting momma in her foster home, raising 11 beautiful chunky puppies! She is now ready to find her forever home and while she loves the puppies, she's glad that this is her last litter. She is currently around 70 lbs but will probably be around 80 lbs after she fully recovers from nursing those puppies. During her vet visit , she had xrays showing that she had had a broken leg at some point in her life, and while it has healed, she does walk with a slight limp. It doesn't stop her from getting around at all, but she will need chondroitin supplements to help her as she ages. In her foster home, she loves to play with her foster brother and sister. She plays tug with her Great Pyr foster brother and loves to run with her pit mix foster sister. She is calm and snuggly with her hoomans, sleeps on a dog bed anywhere there is one, She loves to be outside and is learning to walk on a leash. She is always up for treats. She ignores the cats and has been housetrained from Day 1!Big Paws of the Ozarks is a foster-based dog rescue in Northwest Arkansas. We require an approved adoption application on file before scheduling meets with our dogs. You can find the application here (www.bigpawsozarks.org/adoption-application). Please email info@bigpawsoftheozarks.org if you have specific questions about an available dog.

Story
Meet Jethro 6801 It is a little tricky to compute but Jethro, the male Boxer mix, Our canine, Jethro arrived at the Humane Society accompanied by their true uncle. With the help of the Humane Society volunteers, he is enrolled in the Courtesy 101 class and are working on his good-manners. He has a way to go before he receives his diploma, but he is providing some great unintentional moments of canine entertainment. They haven’t yet hopped into the bark park doggie pool but perhaps they are waiting for an opportunity to dive into a much more famous cement pond. Jethro interacts nicely with other canines. He also shares lots of smiles and oodles (seems to be the best descriptive) of spirited fun…..come on down and spend some playtime himat the Humane Society for Animals in Rogers, AR.
