Story
Kota is a friendly, happy, and playful girl who loves to run laps around the yard. She will play on her own but loves to play tackle and toy keep away with her foster siblings. She would enjoy a nice sized yard to run around and play in or someone that will be active with her. She has the cutest bouncy ears! Kota does bark at new people and needs a bit to acclimate to them. But once she knows they are ok, she is happy and friendly.  She also barks when there is a new or unexpected sound. So she would not be a fit for apartment or shared wall life. She would benefit from someone willing to help her meet new situations in a calmer manner. She is a smart girl who is easy to train and is treat motivated to make it easy! May 29, 2023, 9:39 am

Story
Hi, my name is Bruno! I am as happy in real life as I look in my photos! While I am still a puppy, I am a well-behaved boy! I love to spend my day romping around with my foster siblings and soaking in all the love and attention I can get! I enjoy playing tug-o-war with my rope toys! I would make a great buddy for anyone! Little humans are fun because they love to play as much as I do and never tire out! Did I mention that I will be coming home with you potty, and crate trained? Apply now if you want to bring home this fun-loving, goofy, big-hearted pup! Adoption fee is $299. Available now. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heart-worm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Due to the construction of our state of the art facility, none of our pets are on site, they are all located in foster homes at this time. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within 72 hours or less. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on those days. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey: A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pets availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents via a meeting app). We do require that adopters discuss all questions before pickup via phone or email in order to minimize direct contact with our staff/volunteers at the time of adoption. After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system* *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Drive-in adoption! Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the Pet Central Helps semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Adopters should pull up to the curb in front of the facility. Adopters should stay in their vehicle. Please be prepared with items such as a crate, leash, blankets, paper towels, cleanup spray, garbage bags, etc. Call 309-846-9534 when you arrive. A PCH representative wearing a mask will carry or walk the pet out and place in the client's vehicle. Social distancing practices should be respected during this process. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with family and new pet through the window of the vehicle. Thank you to all for saving the life of a shelter pet! Story
Ares is a 5 year old high energy, loving boxer. He is fully deaf but knows sign language. He doesn’t know his size so he thinks he is a lap dog. He loves going on walks and playing at the dog park. His rabies vaccine was due back in March. He is pure bred but I can’t find the paperwork. He is also neutered. When he gets excited he tends to pee a little. He does not tolerate being kenneled while people are home. I am in need of rehoming him asap due to moving and I can not take him with.

Story
This sweet girl is Bridges. She is an 8-year-old Boxer mix. Bridges is currently enjoying her time in a foster home! Bridges has two animal foster siblings, as well as two young human foster siblings that she does very well with. Her foster mom reports that she does very well in their home, has not had to be crated since going into foster, is potty trained in their home, and will only bark in their home when she can't see her people!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Grow old with me, the best is yet to be...there is a lot to be said about welcoming a senior dog into your home. At 10 years old, Alley likely has several years left to spend with her family and those years will simply be spent enjoying her company. You won't have to worry about leash manners, the chewing phase, wearing her out so you can enjoy 2 seconds on the couch. She's past the puppy phase and will simply enjoy being your faithful companion. Alley has previously lived with another dog that was surrendered as well. They initially were surrendered to animal control and we are not sure why they were surrendered. Alley seems to be a great fit for most homes willing to give a rescue dog time to settle into their new home.

Story
Meet Zane! This 2 year old boxer mix had a severe fracture of his front leg, so it had to be amputated. It doesn't stop him though. He can jump on beds and navigate at least some stairs (the foster doesn't have a lot of stairs, so we don't know how he would do in a two story house). He's very good with larger calm dogs, but will correct annoying puppies. Good either cats and kids, but can be protective of kids if strangers come by. He does adjust to new people fairly soon.   He is house trained and crate trained. He should be kept at a healthy weight because of his leg, and his joints should be monitored for arthritis.   The $300 adoption fee covers his neuter, vaccines, heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, deworming medication, and microchip registration. He will need a recheck at our vet around 5/24. You can apply at https://gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/ ##1720009##
