Story
Ziggy is a super happy, bouncy puppy who is always looking for his next adventure! Everything is a toy to this sweet boy, and he will make sure he plays with everything...whether he is supposed to or not! If it squeaks, crinkles, bounces or lays still on the floor, it is fair game to become his next favorite toy! Ziggy isn't all play, however. He loves nothing more than cuddling up to his people and snoring away! He loves other dogs and especially loves when they play, too! He would love a laid back dog friend who can tolerate his sometimes mischievous ways. He has met three cats in his foster home and he was very curious about them. Once they set a boundary with him, he respected it. He has done very well keeping his kennel clean. He even will put himself down for an afternoon nap in there! He is working very hard at potty training and is doing well! He hasn't gotten it totally down, but it is only a matter of time. He absolutely loves the kids in his foster home! He is learning not to jump up on them, but hasn't mastered it yet and may knock down some very young kiddos. He is 14 weeks old and will likely be 60-70 pounds when fully grown. Ziggy is all puppy all the time, but really eager to learn about everything this big world has to offer! Ziggy's $300 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea/tick prevention, and microchip registration. You can apply at  https://gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/ ##1976258##

Story
My name is Binx. I am an 18 week old energetic puppy who loves to play and have fun. I have 2 great dane foster siblings and I play with them all the time. I have also interacted with other dogs and puppies and have behaved really well. I am a huge fan of squeaky toys, the more the better. My foster mom and dad call me a “goat” because I love to jump around like a baby goat. I am really good at going outside to potty. I love being outside. Right now I have a fenced in back yard and I love to run around with my foster siblings. Don’t just judge me by my good looks, I am also really smart. I am very treat motivated and willing to learn all kinds of tricks with someone who is willing to invest the time. I do well with children also. I appear to be a boxer/husky mix and should be 50-60 pounds once grown. I'm looking for a forever home where i get alot of attention, love, and exercise. Binx's $300 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea/tick prevention, and microchip registration. You can apply at  https://gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/ ##1979870##

Story
BT is a cuddly, young pup who cannot wait to climb into your lap and show you all the love in the world. He is the perfect balance of sleep and play and can be found snoring away on the couch shortly after a game of fetch. BT is also potty and crate trained and cannot wait to show you how good of a boy he can be! Because of his gentle nature, he is good with everyone he meets and will happily accept pets from whoever happens to walk by. If you're looking for a smart and loyal companion, BT is your boy! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Athos

American Pit Bull Terrier German Shepherd Dog

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Athos needs a special champion. He was born here at the shelter a little over 2 years ago and has been adopted and returned twice since then. Each experience carries its scars and unfortunately, Athos's scars will take commitment to overcome. There are many things that make him good, lovable, and even ideal in many ways: he rides well in the car, loves to play ball with people, doesn't beg for human food or get on the furniture without permission. He listens well on walks, even when he notices a squirrel he'd probably like to chase. He likes to people watch out the window and gives kisses when he's feeling cuddly and affectionate. However, something has happened to Athos that prompts him to react true to the expectations of his breed when triggered, and he will need the work of a strong handler who understands the Belgian Malinois makeup. They are instinctively protective and benefit highly from early socialization, and it is evident that Athos did not receive that. Athos has completed a board and train program with a trainer specialized in his breed, but that doesn't override his instincts in the moment when he is startled. For example, Athos has fallen asleep comfortably on the couch with a trusted person, only to be startled awake when an unexpected family member entered the room. Hackles were up, teeth were shown, and growls were heard as his instinct told him he was protecting his person from an intruder. Once he realized he recognized the visitor, he was fine and calmed down but it is in those moments Athos can be menacing. People with hoods up (like sweatshirts or coats) spark the same kind of fearful reaction. Because of his lineage, combined with the unsteadiness of a life in and out of the shelter system, Athos will only be considered for adult-only homes with a history of dog experience, preferably with the Malinois or GSD breed. He is gorgeous, smart, and affectionate with the people he knows, so the person with the right experience who can help him work through his reactions when startled will have an amazing dog for life. If you are interested in Athos and would qualify, please give us a call and a manager will discuss him with you further. Story
Moodonna is really enjoying her time in her foster home, but this sweet girl is ready to be adopted!Moo's foster mom says: "Her favorite things to do are to creep on the neighbors, watch the neighborhood critters, or pass out on the hot concrete. As far as the outdoors goes, we have her on a tether whether she is in the front or back yard. I'm a helicopter pup parent so I'm always out with her. She very quickly learned that when I say "careful" she is close to the end of her tether so she can slow down.Moo gets so excited she jumps on people impulsively still, but listens as soon as you say "off". She gets the zoomies often some days, especially when she is seeing the boys or my partner after they've been gone/busy for a few days. When she is inside, no potty accidents, no getting into things she isn't supposed to. After slowly testing her, we now are more than comfortable with leaving her to roam the house freely when we are out. Moo prefers the days where I work from home or my partner is working on the truck outside. You guys must have done some amazing work with this girl! Thank you!Moodonna is 5-years-old and weighs 48 lbs!Adoption Fee: $100Estimated Date of Birth: 12/1/18Intake Reason: Transferred in from animal control with mom and littermatesAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
By appearance, Loretta has had one main purpose in life until this point and it is being a money maker for a greedy owner who let her continually have babies. No more! Her recent litter was just weaned, Loretta has been spayed and is looking for a forever family of her own. Loretta is a love with humans. Everyone is her best friend. We aren't certain if she has lived as a house dog before so she may take some time learning to live as a house pet but we predict her favorite activity will be Netflix and chill, though she may take some time to decompress, relax and learn the comforts of living in a home. We've done two dog intros with Loretta and right now, she's very nervous and unsure and stiff in posture which makes our team uncomfortable pushing her for more interactions. At this time, we think it would be best for Loretta to go home as an only dog to allow her time to relax and decompress and see once she's used to just being a dog, not a puppy maker, if that changes. After all, if every time you encountered another dog you ended up with a litter of puppies, you'd be nervous too.Cat test done in controlled environment, she had no reaction to themLoretta weighs 67.2 PoundsAdoption Fee: $100Date of Birth: 11/7/2019Intake Reason: Transfer InAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption.
