Story
You have found Polo! A beautiful brindle Boxer/Pit Bull mix who stands tall at 1 year old and 48 lbs. New introductions bring out his timid side, but once he knows he's safe, with some patience and love, he will be your best friend. Polo becomes the sweetest & most loving guy!  He is a happy and playful dog.  He loves toys, a good bone to chew on, and running around in the yard. He knows "sit" and he is highly food motivated, not to mention a very good listener. Polo keeps his run clean at the shelter and was previously in a home, so we believe he is housetrained. He is dog friendly, though he has a pretty energetic play style. Though he had a little hard time adjusting to shelter life, Polo here is coming out of his shell and showing his sweet side. Let him show it to you!  His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
This cute boy is Ezekiel. He is an almost 2 year old pit bull. He was picked up as a stray, seemingly have been abandoned, with a swollen neck and a fractured skull. Ezekiel made a full recovery and is now a happy go lucky boy. He can be a little indifferent at first but once he warms up, he`ll be your best friend furrever! As much as I loved all the dogs that I shared time with yesterday, Ezekiel pulled ahead as my favorite. Granted, he had been running and playing in the outside pen before I walked him, so maybe that contributed to our leisurely saunter on the trails, but he has the biggest smile and a patient “sit” as he gently takes an offered treat. He came to the shelter with a cracked skull and a swollen neck- yet here he is obedient, inquisitive and still willing to love humans. We love Ezekiel and his kind, resilient spirit. If you are interested in Ezekiel, apply at tapsshelter.org!

Story
Tallahassee spent the beginning of her life as a house dog. Once she grew to full size, she was sentenced to life outside on a chain. Luckily for her, the owners let someone else take her to surrender to TAPS! She is a sweet and friendly girl who loves to sleep in bed, is dog friendly, and loves people, kids, and toys...but she doesn`t know her size so a home with toddlers probably would not be the best fit. However, she loves training and is doing fantastic!
