Story
Meet Millie, a 2-year-old Pit Bull Mix, gracing the world with her presence at a weight of 44.8 pounds. Her journey hasn't been easy; she came into our lives through a stroke of fate, found abandoned in a park one summer, emaciated and neglected. Due to her challenging past, Millie requires a kid-free home, where she can gradually build trust and feel secure. In the loving embrace of her foster family, Millie has truly transformed. She's become an exuberant, playful, and affectionate companion who enjoys the simple pleasures of life. Whether it's embarking on leisurely strolls, indulging in a game of fetch in the backyard, or sharing a quiet moment on your lap, Millie is a dog who knows how to savor every moment. Not only is Millie house and crate-trained, but she also coexists harmoniously with feline friends. However, it's essential to note that Millie thrives as the sole dog in the household, as she tends to resource-guard her food and toys. To provide Millie with the ideal forever home, we're seeking a patient and nurturing owner who can offer plenty of activities to engage her both physically and mentally. Millie's foster mom has mentioned that she may vocalize when her active needs aren't met, a friendly reminder that this spirited pup is happiest when she's well-exercised. Once Millie establishes that special bond with someone, she becomes a beacon of happiness and loyalty. Thanks to our generous sponsors, her adoption fee has already been covered for an approved adopter. Please note there is a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents.  Millie is waiting for a loving home where her heart can continue to bloom. If you think you could be that special person, apply today to meet her and start a beautiful chapter together. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Milo! He's a 10-month-old Pit Bull Terrier who currently weighs 53 pounds. This playful sweetie would love a home with a canine playmate, yet it's not required. Although Milo grew up with young children, he might do best with children age 5+ because he's blessed with the typical big puppy high energy level. He's house- and crate-trained. You'll quickly discover that Milo is a well-rounded boy. His hobbies include: * Running around in the house * Spending time in the yard * Going on long walks * Engaging in high-energy exercise * Playing with toys * Playing with other dogs   Milo follows his foster dad from room to room. His previous family didn't have enough time for him, so he didn't get much interaction. It might take Milo a minute to warm up to new people and situations. He just wants to be loved. Can you give Milo the exercise and love that he needs? If so, he'd love to meet you! His minimum adoption fee is $145 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.  He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Introducing Fada, the loving 10-month-old pittie with a heart of gold and a zest for life! Still sporting her puppy charm, Fada is a 34.9 pound bundle of energy just waiting to bring joy and laughter into your home. One thing's for sure – she's head over heels for her fellow canine companions. While she's learning the ropes of polite play, Fada's enthusiasm sometimes leads to roughhousing, so she'll need a four-legged friend who can keep up with her spirited antics. In the realm of housetraining, Fada is making strides and nearly has it mastered. Though she'll tolerate her crate, nothing beats the company of her beloved people or her furry pals. With energy to spare, Fada thrives on playtime both indoors and out. Whether she's tearing around the yard with her canine buddies, embarking on long walks, or playing a game of fetch, she's in her element. Described as friendly, outgoing, and adaptable, Fada is a social butterfly who's never met a stranger she didn't like. While she's charmed everyone she's crossed paths with, her exuberance suggests she'd be best suited for a household with older children who can match her energy levels and playstyle. Given her penchant for yard zoomies, Fada would thrive in a home with a secure fence where she can stretch her legs to her heart's content. As for her feline friends, well, let's just say they're not on her list of favorites. When it comes to kids, they would need to be able to hold their own and we think her energy would do best with kids ages 10 and up. If you're searching for a furry companion to join you on all of life's adventures, look no further than Fada. With her infectious happiness and playful spirit, she's sure to become the heart and soul of your family. Come meet Fada today and discover why she's the perfect match for your active lifestyle! Her minimum adoption fee is $145 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Introducing Frankfort, the cutest 1 year old Pit bull mix that weighs 37.1 pounds! Frankfort is on his way to mastering the art of housetraining and excels in his crate like a true champ. But don't let his missing eye fool you – this young lad's energy levels are through the roof! He's a bundle of joy who thrives on plenty of mental and physical activity, making a fenced yard the ideal playground for his spirited adventures. With his boundless enthusiasm and penchant for play, Frankfort is a natural-born goofball who's sure to bring endless love and laughter into your home. From games of fetch to joyrides in the car, he's up for any adventure that comes his way. Plus, he's a cuddle bug at heart, always ready to snuggle up with his favorite humans after a day of play. While Frankfort's energy and jumpiness may not be suited for very young children, he'll thrive in a household with kids ages 6 and up who can match his spirited nature with a bit of balance. And as much as he loves to play, Frankfort may not be the best match for feline friends due to his rough play style. According to his foster mom, Frankfort is a cyclone of chaos in the best way possible – a true testament to his playful spirit and boundless love. While he's still learning the ropes of polite play with other dogs, he's making great strides and would benefit from continued puppy training and socialization. If you're searching for a furry companion to keep you on your toes and fill your home with love and laughter, look no further than Frankfort. Come meet him today and discover why he's the perfect addition to your family! His minimum adoption fee is $145 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Story
Meet Niko, the vibrant 9-month-old Pit Bull with a heart full of joy and energy to spare! Weighing in at a solid 54 pounds, Niko is a bundle of fun and love waiting to find his forever home. Niko has mastered the art of being both house and crate trained, proving he's a smart cookie ready to learn even more. However, he's had a bit of a rocky start in life and is in need of guidance and plenty of love. Despite his age, Niko still exhibits puppy-like behaviors, especially in his boundless energy and eagerness for play. One thing to note about Niko is his exuberant personality. He's the life of the party, always eager to meet new people and make friends. However, his enthusiasm can sometimes get the best of him, leading to some rough play and overexcitement. He's a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs, but he may need some help in understanding their cues and playing more gently. While Niko may need a bit of refinement in his manners, he's a quick learner and would thrive in obedience classes where he can channel his energy into positive behaviors. With consistent training and plenty of exercise, Niko is sure to blossom into a well-behaved companion. For potential adopters with other pets, Niko's rough play style might need careful consideration. While he gets along well with cats, his boisterous nature might be overwhelming for other dogs. A patient and equally energetic canine companion would be the perfect match for Niko. Due to his exuberance and tendency for rough play, we recommend a home with children over the age of 12 who are familiar with dogs. Niko loves nothing more than playtime with his favorite toys, a game of fetch in the yard, or a leisurely car ride to explore the world around him. Speaking of yards, Niko would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can burn off his energy to his heart's content. His foster dad describes him as a sweet boy who's eager to please, and he's certainly a hit with everyone he meets – including college students when he joins his foster dad's class! If you're ready for a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure with a furry friend who's always up for fun, then Niko might just be the perfect match for you. Come meet this charming Pit Bull with a zest for life and see if you're meant to be his forever family! His minimum adoption fee is $145 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Story
Elvis is in the building! This hunk of love is your classic Pit Bull Mix who is 1.5 years old and weighs 33.5 lbs. Elvis learned how to shake those hips from the best because he is described as the the wiggliest, happiest guy!  This energetic pup is ready to serenade his way into his new family's heart and home. Elvis loves to play, be near his people, and receive endless belly rubs. He's a social butterfly who adores making new friends, both human and canine alike. He also is a big cuddler and would love to get all the attention he can.  If that's not all, he is housetrained! Doesn't love the crate, but has already made great progress with it in a short time. Elvis likes to be on the move! While he enjoys taking naps, he often likes to be playing. A little less conversation and all the action! Exercise needs are: playing in the house or yard with his canine pals, running, or other high energy exercise. He will benefit from a home that gives him plenty of mental and physical stimulation. Elvis loves toys to keep him occupied when he's worn out playing with his dog friends. While he loves playing with them, he'll need one to match his energy and play style - he doesn't quite understand correction from other dogs right now. He hasn't been exposed to kids in his foster home, but he's done well with every person he has met. He does sometimes jump when excited, so a family with small kids would have to continue to teach him manners around little ones. Elvis just wants to be your teddy bear! This rockstar pup is eager to please and looking for a family who will welcome him into his forever home. Thank you, thank you very much for considering adopting Elvis! His minimum adoption fee is $195 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Lelani is a beautiful 4 year old pitbull, she just turned 4 on September 13th. She is very sweet, loving and playful but she can be easily triggered because she was neglected by her previous owner. My ex and I decided to take her in when a friend was looking to rehome her after his roommate moved out and abandoned her. She used to pee when you called her name and when approached too quickly. I've tried to work with her but have no experience training dogs and can't afford to hire a trainer so I'm looking to rehome her so that she can get the help she needs. I have another dog and they used to get along great but she has now attacked him a couple of times completely unprovoked and I'm afraid I can no longer safely keep her. I'm looking for someone with a little experience with dogs, with no children or other pets as she likes to be the center of attention and has previously bitten one of my nieces who she knew very well while they were play fighting. Please help me find her a good home!

I would love to go for walks and adventures. I have a fenced yard now so I can do a lot of running and playing! I also like settling in with you for a good cuddle! Story
Molly has not always been treated with kindness by humans, but that doesn't affect her gentle and sweet disposition. Molly recently had a litter of puppies at the ripe age of 9 years old, and she's also working through some skin issues, so she more than deserves a quiet home where she can curl up on a soft bed, preferably with a calm dog friend. She is dog and cat friendly, walks gently on a leash, is house trained, and knows "sit". Molly is a perfect foster house guest and is looking for her perfect forever place to rest and be spoiled while she lives out her golden years. Story
Meet Bunny! Bunny is super friendly and good with other dogs. She does great on walks and in the crate. She loves tough toys and loves playing fetch. She has a lot of personality and is always excited for running around or plopping her big head in your lap for cuddles. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions).
