Story
Unfortunately, due to my new job schedule I am looking to rehome my boy, Spike. He’s a 3 year old 55 pound Lab/Boxer/Am Staffordshire terrier mix. He’s neutered, potty trained, and listens well indoors. He loves to play and cuddle. He’s good with other animals, he’s lived with cats and been around dogs before. Spike is also a little shy and doesn’t like loud noises. He’s had all his shots and vaccines. I give him heartguard every month. He’s been very well taken care of. He was last seen at the vet in May. We just moved here from New Jersey a few months ago, so his main vet was at Wayne Animal Hospital in New Jersey and I’ve tried everything to make accommodations for him with my new schedule here in Illinois. $50 rehoming fee just to show you can pay for his food for the month (which I will be giving you a supply of as well as his toys, bed, and treats.)

Story
Mamba is a 4-year-old Boxer weighing just under 63 pounds, and she’s as loving and loyal as they come. This sweet girl wants nothing more than to make her people feel adored every second of the day. In the house, she’s relaxed, easygoing, and happiest simply being part of whatever you’re doing—following you from room to room, curling up nearby, or settling in for a quiet moment. She’s very reliably housetrained, will go to the door when she needs out, and even potties on command. She tolerates a crate but doesn’t need one—she can be trusted loose and sleeps soundly in bed with her foster family (often with the 8-year-old!).  Mamba is wonderful with children of all ages and has been incredibly patient and gentle in her foster home—even letting the baby hand-feed her breakfast. She loves giving kisses, resting her head in laps, and being a comforting presence. She’s also great with other dogs, is friendly with strangers, and would likely do well with cats. She enjoys car rides, walks nicely on leash, and knows a couple of tricks, including sit and shake. While she can get excited and occasionally jump up, she’s already working on keeping all four paws on the ground. Above all, her personality shines as friendly, quiet, submissive, loyal, and deeply people-oriented. Mamba would fit beautifully into almost any home. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who’s as devoted as she is easy to live with, Mamba might just be your perfect match. Her adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
