When we pulled her from a shelter in Kentucky, she was in heartbreaking shape - covered in a severe yeast infection, with almost no hair left on her body and open, bloody sores around her neck. Scared and neglected, Trish was an owner surrender who had clearly suffered from a lack of care and compassion. But despite it all, Trish never gave up. With time, patience, and lots of TLC, Trish has blossomed. Her gorgeous red coat is growing back in, and her gentle, affectionate nature has started to shine. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, doesn't mind cats, and is crate trained. Many of our rescue dogs come from challenging circumstances and may not have been exposed to housetraining. Housetraining is typically the responsibility of the adopter.2. Do you transport to other locations?Currently, we transport to Wilmington, Ohio, Greenwood, Indiana, Washington, PA, and Lake City, FL.3. Is this cat/dog still available?If the cat or dog is listed on Adopt-A-Pet and does not have an "adoption pending" tag on the website, we are still accepting applications. However, please be aware that we often receive multiple applications for each animal.4. Hi, I’m Spartacus! I’m a handsome Boxer/Hound mix with expressive eyebrows, adorable spots, and a personality that gets better the more you know me. I’m a sweet guy who enjoys spending time with my people, getting out for walks, and taking in the world around me. I have pretty nice leash manners, but I’m just as happy slowing things down. Give me a plush bed or a good patch of sunshine and I’ll gladly show you how seriously I take relaxation. I’ve lived with other dogs before, too! Like with any new roommate, I’d still want a proper introduction to make sure everyone is comfortable, and the staff can tell you more about what they’ve seen from me. One thing I know for sure? Cats and I are not meant to be roommates, so I’m looking for a feline-free home. At almost 7, I’m past the puppy stage, but I still have plenty of life, personality, walks, sunbathing, and love ahead of me. I’m just missing the place where I get to enjoy all of it. I’ve already found my favorite way to spend an afternoon. Now I just need a sunny spot to call my own. Hi everyone, Rocky here! I came to Woodford Humane looking for my second chance after my person passed away, and I’ve been working pretty hard on myself while I wait for my next chapter. When I arrived, I weighed about 93 pounds, and these days, I’m rocking a much healthier 63 pounds! I’m past all that puppy chaos, but I’m not quite ready to call myself a lazy senior either. I’m a sweet, laid-back guy who appreciates the good things in life: a nice stroll, some time sniffing around the yard, and, most importantly, a comfy place to settle in with my people. I’ve had some knee trouble in the past, so keeping me at a healthy weight and giving me appropriate exercise will help me stay feeling my best. But don’t let that fool you, I’m doing great, and losing 30 pounds is proof that I’ve been putting in the work! After everything has changed in my life, I’m more than ready for something permanent: a family to love and a couch to call my own. If you have another dog at home, I’d love to meet them first just to make sure we’re a good match! I’ve worked hard, lost the weight, and I’m feeling better than ever! I’m ready for my final and biggest transformation yet: from shelter dog to somebody’s best friend. Think that could be you? Calypso is the perfect blend of a clever companion and a total sweetheart. One minute he will make you laugh with his witty antics and playful puppy pounces, and the next he will be curling up right next to you to show you his deeply loving side. He is looking for an active family who will take him on outdoor adventures and give him plenty of training, mental stimulation, and cuddle time.

Meet SNEAKERS!! Sneakers is easily a staff favorite around here! He has stolen our hearts, and probably snuck off with our lunch too. Kidding! However, Sneakers can be a rather curious boy at times. Sneakers has really proven himself these last few months that he's determined to be the best boy for a forever home. He is super treat motivated and has already learned a couple tricks! We love this big love bug and hope someone else will too!
