This shy guy is Dallas! Dallas is a 1 year old Boxer mix. Dallas is timid, so he needs a patient family and one with another confident dog to show him the way. Dallas would thrive with training to help build his confidence.  If you would like to make Dallas a part of your family, fill out an application at www.barktownrescue.org. DALLAS' ADOPTION FEE IS $175The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Charming Billy has been calling the shelter home for over two years now, but he’d happily pack up his leash and bid farewell to his shelter buddies for the comfort and space of a real house, with a loving, happy, caring, patient family who will help him make the transition from shelter resident to amazing family member and best friend. Billy is smart, playful, energetic, and happy and has only known love, kindness and patience during his lengthy stay at the shelter. The past two-plus years, he has had plenty of walks and playtime with his siblings, regular baths and routine vet care so these things are not new concepts. Billy will need patience as he learns about car rides, televisions, stairs, and furniture. Billy is an awesome boy with a heart of gold. If his story tugs at your heartstrings and you’re looking for a new fur baby, stop by the shelter and ask to meet him. Potential adopters with other canine family members will be required to bring their dogs in for a meet and greet with Billy prior to approval of adoption.
