Story
Hello my name is Wink. At just 8 months old, I’m a big, handsome 70 pound pup with an even bigger heart, searching for a forever home to call my own. My journey hasn’t been easy—I was surrendered to a crowded, high-risk shelter in San Antonio, Texas, for reasons I’ll never understand. The noise, the stress, the uncertainty… it was overwhelming. My time there was running out, and I needed someone to see me—to believe I was worth saving.Every day, I did my best to shine. I kept my kennel clean, wagged my tail nonstop, and greeted everyone with gentle affection, hoping they’d choose me. But no one did. Maybe it was my size, or my age, or my right eye. I have a condition called microphthalmia, which means my right eye is smaller and doesn’t see well—but it doesn’t slow me down or cause me pain, and the vet says it doesn’t need to be removed. The shelter called me Skunk, but my foster dad saw something different—he named me Wink, and it fits me perfectly.Just hours before I was set to be euthanized due to overcrowding, Project Hope Animal Rescue stepped in and saved my life. From there, I began a 1,200+ mile journey north, carried by kind-hearted volunteers who gave me a second chance. Now, I’m ready to start my next chapter.I’m a sweet, affectionate boy with the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and gentle companionship. I adore people and have a special way of leaning into you for pets—it’s like a full-body hug. I may be big, but I’m all soft on the inside and thrive on love, attention, and being part of the family.I’m still young and eager to learn. I’m very treat-motivated and want to make my people happy, which makes training fun and rewarding. I’ve already learned how to shake and I’m getting the hang of “sit.” I walk well on a leash and am excited to keep learning with someone who will guide me with patience and positivity.I’d do best in an active home where I have room to run, play, and grow—a fenced yard would be required. More than anything, I just want to be included in everyday life, whether that’s going on adventures, playing outside, or relaxing close to my favorite people. The basics:• Fully vetted• Potty trained• Dog & cat friendly• Working on crate trainingAll I need now is someone willing to take a chance on me—and in return, I’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty, love, and companionship.Wink is fully vetted, vaccinated, neutered & microchippedHis adoption fee is $300.If you have any questions or concerns about Wink,  please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Story
Meet Jack: A Diamond in the Rough Looking for His Person At just one year old, Jack is still discovering that the world isn’t such a scary place. Because he didn’t get much socialization as a puppy, he starts off a bit "introverted" and cautious around new faces. But here is the secret: once Jack decides you’re his person, he transforms into the ultimate snuggle bug. He is a sweet, soulful boy who just needs a patient leader to show him the ropes. If you have a quiet home and a big heart, Jack will reward you with a lifetime of loyal tail wags and cozy couch cuddles.

Story
Looking for a Loving Home Together – Bonded Pair Meet Jack & Diane, two sweet, bonded rescue dogs who are looking for a new forever home together. About Them: Approximately 3 years old Boxer/Pit Bull mixes Fully vaccinated Double microchipped Bonded pair – they have been together since being rescued and need to stay together. Jack is the shorter, chunkier guy. He's laid-back, easygoing, and loves relaxing. Diane is a little more energetic and playful. She enjoys being active and exploring. Both dogs are a bit timid at first but are loving once they feel safe. They especially enjoy spending time outdoors, and we'd love to find them a home with a fenced yard or someone who can give them plenty of outdoor time. Their owner is moving and, unfortunately, cannot take them along. This is a heartbreaking decision, and we're committed to finding them a safe, loving home where they can stay together.

Story
Hey, hey, hey! My name is Miles, and I’m a 7-year-old Boxer mix with lots of energy and even more love to give!I’m not the biggest fan of most other animals, but that’s only because I think there’s more than enough of me to keep my family entertained! I’d be happiest soaking up all of your love and attention.I’m great with kids 12 and older. Sometimes I get the zoomies and forget just how big I am, so I could accidentally knock over smaller kiddos—even though I’d never mean to!I do pull a little on the leash, especially if I spot a squirrel, but I’m a smart, lovable guy who just gets excited about the world around me. After I’ve burned off some energy, I’m more than happy to relax, soak up attention, and earn a few treats (my favorite part of the day!).I’ve been waiting at the shelter for over a year, and I’m more than ready to find a family to call my own. If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate best friend, please come meet me! I can’t wait to finally go home. ❤️

💎 Meet Ruby: CEO of Taking Things Slowly 💎Ruby is not the kind of girl who falls in love on the first date. She prefers a background check, three references, and a respectful amount of personal space. But once Ruby decides you’re her person? Congratulations—you have been promoted to Most Important Human in the World. ❤️Ruby is a sensitive girl who can feel overwhelmed by busy environments. She is scared around small children and is looking for a calm, patient home where she can be the only pet. Think peaceful evenings, predictable routines, and a household that understands trust is earned—not rushed. She may need a little extra time to settle in, but when Ruby feels safe, she is sweet, devoted, and truly an angel.Ruby isn’t looking for a perfect person. She’s looking for someone patient, consistent, and willing to let her bloom at her own pace. The best things in life take time—and Ruby is absolutely worth it. 🐾Think you might be Ruby’s person? Story
If you're looking for a sweet and sassy red head to share adventures outside and cuddle time on the couch with, then we may be perfect for each other. My name is Miss Margo, my birthday is May 13, 2025 so I'm just a little over a year old. I'm UTD on all my shots, spayed and microchipped. I currently weight 53 lbs. I've also graduated from the RPSM prison program where I learned all my manners and even some tricks. I'm in a foster home with 2 other dogs and I get along well with them. We play together and sleep together but sometimes we get carried away and we get time out in our crates or on our beds. I don't mind this, as a matter of fact my crate is my safe place and sometimes I just go in to rest. Before I entered training I had help from a 7 year old boy who helped me learn to sit and played fetch with me so I'd learn recall. I really like kids but can get carried away so no toddler children are recommended. I tried to meet a cat who was resting on a couch, but she hissed at me, swatted me on the nose and ran away, if you can imagine, I pancaked and my foster mom said I did good because I didn't chase her. I think a slow introduction to a cat would be best for me. I haven't jumped the outside fence but I have jumped the inside gate to get to the other dogs to play so a fence is recommended to keep me safe from exploring. I enjoy walks and have gotten really good on a leash. If I start to pull I can easily be redirected by hearing my name, it helps if you have a treat too. I enjoy cuddle time on the couch; stuffed animals are my favorite toy as is the bone with peanut butter in the end. I'm still young, playful and learning. I'm a lover, full of energy and inquisitive. I'm excited to find my furever home and family. If you're interested, please fill out an application with RPSM. Margo is UTD on all her shots, HW, and FT. Margo has a microchip in case she gets lost. Margo will require a 6 ft fence in yard to keep her safe. RPSM recommends a home with children 6 years and older. If you are interested in adopting Margo, please fill out an application by going to www.rpsm.org today. Margo’s adoption fee is $300 ##2693468##
