Socks is in a foster home and this is what they have to say:If you are looking for a family man Socks is the guy! He is definitely one of a kind! He enjoys going on walks and riding in the car with the window down. When you get home he doesn't just welcome you, he asks you how your day went and then he tells you about his exciting adventures. He loves to talk. If he needs to go potty he makes a woo woo sound. It's so adorable. He is great and has had no accidents and is completely house broke. He has very good house manners. He leaves things alone that he knows are not his. He will always ask permission to get on a piece of furniture. He loves his late afternoon naps on the couch and to cuddle with one of his foster brothers in bed each night. He is awesome with kids of all ages. He loves the attention and being part of the pack. He has been spending most of his summer days outside with them pool side waiting on the splashes and chance to run and play fetch with a stick. He is always alert and on squirrel watch. Socks is a very intelligent boy. We are learning more from him each day that he knows. He is beyond simple voice commands. Socks also knows hands commands. He can follow the simple sit, stay, say please and thank you, roll over and lay down. He also knows fun tricks like hug, high five, dance, sit pretty, bang bang, sing, play dead and so much more. He is very treat oriented. You would never guess this guy to be older in age. He keeps up with kids like he is one of the. This family man is ready to find a home full of love and pack full of energy to keep up with him.

Everyone, meet Lonnie!Lonnie has become a very familiar face to FDHS and we aren't sure why this cutie patootie is still hanging out with us. Lonnie was surrendered to to us back in September of 2023 after he was abandoned while in the care of someone not in a position to keep him. He's a really good boy and from the sounds of it, he's been passed around a lot in his life.Although Lonnie isn't a pup, he has a ton of playful energy and has a very loving and vibrant personality! He's a big ol' goofball that's guaranteed to give his future family a ton of fun. Lonnie could use a little brushing up on his manners but he's a smart guy and very obedient if you're able to keep his attention and focus. Need a buddy to play fetch with? Lonnie's your dude! When it comes to other animals, a Meet & Greet is always ideal for any potential furry siblings! He does great with kids and would make an awesome family dog. **Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and UTD on all vaccines & monthly prevention. He weighs about 64 lbs**

Hello world! My name is Keanu Reeves (the dog version), but you can just call me Keanu! Although I'm not stealing the spotlight on the big screen, I am aiming to steal a spot on your couch!I was surrendered to the nice people at FDHS several months ago after my previous owner could no longer keep me. I wasn't in the best of condition when I arrived, I was pretty skinny and missing some hair. In the time that I've been here I look like a completely different dog! I'm a sturdy boy with a large head and a tail that NEVER stops wagging. I really am the happiest of boys.I've done pretty well in the shelter environment. I'm always eager to meet new human friends and I love to run around in the fenced yard out back. I can get a little sassy with some of the more "intense" dogs but I think with slow and proper introductions, I wouldn't mind having a canine sibling. I did very well when I was cat-tested and would likely be totally fine going to a home with them. The staff praises me for keeping a clean kennel (other than the occasional mud from my paws...I like to play!) and I do excellent with routine.Overall, I'm a big goofy guy that's just looking for my fur-ever love....could it be you?**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 60 lbs**

Everyone meet Jasper! Jasper came to us after his owner could no longer take care of him, to no fault of his own. He was very scared and confused about his new environment. But now he is starting to warm up and is a good boy. He is happiest when he is outside! He loves to go on walks or simply hang out in the back yard! Since it has taken him a bit to warm up to us, slow introductions and multiple meet and greets would be best. He is a good dog but may need a calmer environment with a more experienced family. He would do best in a home with older (15+) or no children. He does struggle with going back into his kennel here at the shelter, so we think he would do best with a home where he has free range of the house or at least a room that he can hang out in while you're away. **Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 50 lbs**
