Story
Fern Fern is a Female Boxer mix DOB: November of 2025 Adoption fee: $200 I know I look serious in my photo, but I really am just a wiggle butt! If you know Boxers, then you know about the wiggle butt and that’s what I have! I wiggle while I eat, and I wiggle with a toy in my mouth, I wiggle when I walk. (I do have a full tail). I am a little bashful and need a little confidence building. In a home with consistency in my routine and training, I should gain the confidence I need to be the best friend you’ve ever had. Pending observed interaction, I should do well with children 8 years and older. Pending a meet and greet, I may match with another dog. I have not been tested with a cat, but if properly introduced to cats, I adapt fine. I have not been on a leash at this time and would do my best with a physically fenced yard. I may require it pending your previous experience, location or other plans for containment. I am a very nice pup with lots of potential. I just need a family to help reach that potential.

Story
Hello my name is Wink. At just 8 months old, I’m a big, handsome 70 pound pup with an even bigger heart, searching for a forever home to call my own. My journey hasn’t been easy—I was surrendered to a crowded, high-risk shelter in San Antonio, Texas, for reasons I’ll never understand. The noise, the stress, the uncertainty… it was overwhelming. My time there was running out, and I needed someone to see me—to believe I was worth saving.Every day, I did my best to shine. I kept my kennel clean, wagged my tail nonstop, and greeted everyone with gentle affection, hoping they’d choose me. But no one did. Maybe it was my size, or my age, or my right eye. I have a condition called microphthalmia, which means my right eye is smaller and doesn’t see well—but it doesn’t slow me down or cause me pain, and the vet says it doesn’t need to be removed. The shelter called me Skunk, but my foster dad saw something different—he named me Wink, and it fits me perfectly.Just hours before I was set to be euthanized due to overcrowding, Project Hope Animal Rescue stepped in and saved my life. From there, I began a 1,200+ mile journey north, carried by kind-hearted volunteers who gave me a second chance. Now, I’m ready to start my next chapter.I’m a sweet, affectionate boy with the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and gentle companionship. I adore people and have a special way of leaning into you for pets—it’s like a full-body hug. I may be big, but I’m all soft on the inside and thrive on love, attention, and being part of the family.I’m still young and eager to learn. I’m very treat-motivated and want to make my people happy, which makes training fun and rewarding. I’ve already learned how to shake and I’m getting the hang of “sit.” I walk well on a leash and am excited to keep learning with someone who will guide me with patience and positivity.I’d do best in an active home where I have room to run, play, and grow—a fenced yard would be required. More than anything, I just want to be included in everyday life, whether that’s going on adventures, playing outside, or relaxing close to my favorite people. The basics:• Fully vetted• Potty trained• Dog & cat friendly• Working on crate trainingAll I need now is someone willing to take a chance on me—and in return, I’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty, love, and companionship.Wink is fully vetted, vaccinated, neutered & microchippedHis adoption fee is $300.If you have any questions or concerns about Wink,  please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Story
Lexi is a 1 year old boxer filled with so much love! She gets along great with our 6 year old golden moutain dog but she is very reactive to the outside world. Lexi has gotten along with other dogs but it takes a very slow introduction. Lexi needs a home where people are home more often with the time to put into training her more. She needs a large yard to run and play in. Lexi does not get to live her best life in our home and we want the best for her. Lexi is recently spayed and is all caught up on shots for 1 year.

Story
At Christmas time, holiday tinsel is one of the best ways to spruce up your home with some cheer and festivity; but wouldn't it be great to have some of that same tinsel cheer for the whole year? I'm pretty sure that's where I got the name, because that's exactly what I do! I think it's pretty safe to say we all love the gifting aspect of the holiday season, and I am no exception. As you can see from the video, I love toys! Personally, my favorite aspect of every day, is quality time spent together. I am full of that "in front of the fireplace" warmth that is the highlight of the season...or really any season. Snuggling in the laps of all my friends, giving kisses, joy, and laughs every day of the year would be a dream come true! While I can appreciate some kitty-time snuggles, I am much more apt to be in my person's lap cuddling, but I am happy to share a home with a feline friend. I would be happiest in a home with older children that can handle my occasional puppy-like playstyle (that...and I can be a little vocal and pushy about my need for attention sometimes). I would love to have a doggy playmate, but I do need proper introductions with dogs, as I am dog selective. Being dog selective means that I have made several canine friends, but much like humans, I don't care to be friends with every dog I meet. Any potential fur siblings will get the chance to meet me for a play date before I go home, to make sure we get along as well as ribbons and bows! If you would like a little bit of every-day Christmas magic in your home, submit an adoption application to the website below, and I promise to decorate your heart and home with all my love! DOB: 2/6/2020 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
Meet Pete 👨‍🦳Good ol’ Petey here is an estimated 8 year old mix. He’s an older boy, but he doesn’t let that slow him down (too much). Pete still gets some “zoomies”, or at least his version of it. He’s not the fastest or the strongest boy around, but he still likes to be at least a little active. So long as he gets some space to prance around and some toys to play with, he’s a happy guy. He’s a well mannered boy who tends to keep his kennel clean. As much as he likes to play, he doesn’t tend to chew or be destructive with any of the blankets or dog beds he is given. He’s also a very gentle boy who gets along with everyone he’s met. He can be a little intimidating to other dogs at first, but he gets along with them well. Same with feline friends.Above everything though, Pete is a goofy, loyal snugglebug at heart. His desires are simple: a home to call his own and a person to snuggle up with at the end of the day. If you’re looking to add an older, certified Good Boy into your life, Pete is the perfect fit for you. 🐾
