Roscoe was seized by a local police department due to neglect. We dont know how anyone could neglect this sweet boy, he is such a gem. He is a loving and playful boy, being socialized in foster around other dogs, cats, and kiddos. We would love to find Roscoe a forever home where he never has to feel neglected ever again.

Story
This is Rocket Man. He is a 2 year old, 40 pound, Husky/Boxer Mix, He was brought in by animal control as a county stray along with 4 other dogs that all had a bit of Husky in them. He is great with other dogs and has been cat tested. He avoids cats, so he passed the test. He is treat motivated and walks well on leash as well. Rocket Man has a bit of the Husky personality in that he is aloof around new people at first. He will not come to them for a few minutes and actually avoids them for a little bit. It's just best to sit on a bench, read your book and ignore him right back. It may take a few minutes, but he will come over to see what you are doing and take a treat. That's all it takes, and he warms right up to you. He would do best with another dog in the family. It is a joy to watch him playing with other dogs. It's all out run and fun! He has great dog social skills and would be a great pal looking for a friend to their other dog. He needs a fenced area as he will take off if he doesn't know you well. It took almost 20 minutes in the bark park session before the photographer witnessed the reason for the Humane Society volunteers awarding Rocket Man’s descriptive name. He performed a dash and a zip and a zoom as he took a quick “check it out” tour of the park. At the end of the excursion, 2-year-old Rocket Man settled back into his easy-going personality and shared his disarmingly endearing smile with all the visitors in the bark park. Then Rocket Man turned his attention to a flying squeaky and accomplished a perfect Boxer stare down of an always in season Christmas Elf. Rocket Man is in tip-top shape, weighing only a svelte 39-pounds and easily convinced the squeaky to contentedly surrender. Join him as he gazes at you through his sky-blue eyes with a mischievous grin showing on his face which lets you know that he is silently singing…. ”I’m a Rocket Man……………”

Story
Nova didn’t come to us with a name… just a story written in every step she took. She wandered onto one of our volunteer’s properties like she knew—this is where I’ll be safe. Wet. Cold. Far too thin. Quietly asking for help without making a sound. So her foster gave her a name: Nova. A fresh start. A new beginning. A light after darkness. And that name couldn’t fit her more perfectly. Despite whatever she’s been through, Nova is incredibly soft, gentle, and full of love. The kind of dog who leans into you like she’s been waiting her whole life to feel safe. She’s slowly gaining weight, healing both inside and out, and will need a dental to get her feeling her very best—but her spirit? That’s already shining. Nova is: 🐾 Great with kids 🐾 Good with other dogs 🐾 Unbothered by cats She’s the definition of resilience wrapped in a quiet, loving soul. Nova didn’t just find a yard that day… She found her second chance. Now all she needs is a home to make it permanent. 💛 Nova’s adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Meet Booker: Looking for a Confident Leader 2 Years Old | Pro-Cuddler | High Potential Booker is a handsome 2-year-old who didn’t get the typical "puppy starter pack." Having spent his first year in a majority outside shelter, he’s still figuring out the ropes of being a family dog. He’s made incredible progress in his foster home, and now he’s looking for a dog-savvy, adult-only home that enjoys the rewarding work of guiding a resilient dog. The Perfect Match Booker is a "follow the leader" kind of guy. He is happiest when he’s with a confident handler who can make the big decisions for him. When he knows his human has the situation under control, he can finally let his guard down and just relax. He’s looking for a partner who understands dog body language and is happy to be his advocate in the world. Safety & Boundaries Because Booker is still learning how to handle his big feelings, he’s not afraid to use his teeth to ask for space when he feels overwhelmed. For this reason, he’s looking for a family that is pro-muzzle. He’s already a total champ with his muzzle and wears it on outings like a pro! His new owners should be comfortable continuing this routine in busy or new places to keep him feeling secure and successful. The Sweet Side Once you’re in Booker’s "inner circle," he is the ultimate companion: • The Best Cuddler: He loves a good movie marathon on the couch and is a world-class snuggler. • A Growing Socialite: While he warms up to women a bit faster, he’s learned that guys can be pretty great, too! • Animal Friends: He’s currently living peacefully with cats and most other dogs. • The Basics: He’s fully vaccinated, house-trained, and ready for a structured routine. Booker isn’t just looking for a house; he’s looking for a mentor. If you’re a confident handler who loves seeing a dog's potential turn into reality, Booker is ready to meet you! Booker's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are.
