He has a calm, gentle presence and truly loves being near his people — whether that’s relaxing on the couch, following you around the house, or heading out for a car ride. Pudgy is affectionate, easygoing, and so sweet. He leans into pets, enjoys cuddles, and has the kind of loving personality that makes him an instant favorite. He’s doing great in a home setting and continues to show what a wonderful companion he’ll be. Pudgy Boots is going to make an amazing addition to a lucky family, and we can’t wait to see him find the forever home he deserves.  About Me: No seriously… talk to me and watch my whole butt get involved. I traveled all the way from Alabama to Minnesota after a pretty rough start in life, and now I’m ready for the good stuff — love, snacks, snuggles, and car rides (SHOTGUN ONLY, please). I’m a bulldog/boxer mix with an elite underbite and a big, squishy heart. I’m a mellow dude who absolutely adores human attention. Couch cuddles? Yes. Being near my people? Always. Going into the crate? Not my favorite but I still rock it. Car ride? ABSOLUTELY!! Cats are very interesting to me — I want to play and be friends, but sometimes I forget I’m bigger than they are, so I might need a little help learning my manners. I promise my intentions are pure. With his adorable underbite, gentle nature, and affectionate personality, Pudgy Boots is the kind of dog who quickly steals hearts. He’s ready for a home where he can soak up love, enjoy adventures, and keep those happy wiggles coming.     May 1, 2026, 7:31 pm

Story
Meet Brooks (Brindle, 8 years old) & Dunn (White, 6 years old)🐾🐾 These two sweet old gentlemen have been with us for almost four months now, and they’ve completely stolen our hearts. Brooks (the brown one) and Dunn (the white one) came to us from down south, and while we don’t know much about their past, it’s very clear they are wonderful, gentle souls. They are very bonded and truly do best as a pair... Where one goes; the other isn’t far behind. Both boys are neutered and up to date on core vaccines. They are fantastic with children, get along great with other dogs, and are even pretty respectful of cats. They’re the kind of dogs that just fit in. Despite their age, they’ve adapted beautifully to changes and new routines. They’re happy to lounge, explore the yard, and enjoy the simple things in life. They stick close while off-leash, have hearty appetites, and yes... they’re delightfully chunky 😄. Brooks is the goofier of the two and is OBSESSED with Kongs and chew toys. Dunn is a bit more reserved and thoughtful, but just as loving in his own quiet way. If we didn’t already have a full house of dogs, we would keep these two in a heartbeat. Their need for a new home is absolutely no fault of their own — we simply don’t have the space to add two large dogs long-term. Brooks & Dunn are truly special, and they deserve a calm, loving home where they can spend their golden years together. They’re perfect just as they are. 💙 These pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered & up to date on vaccinations. The adoption fee is $500 for the bonded pair. Story
Meet Pickles! Pickles is a vibrant, affectionate, and "super fun" puppy who is ready to find her forever lap! She is the perfect blend of puppy play and world-class snuggling. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will follow you around and a playmate who loves everyone she meets, Pickles is your girl. Personality & Play Social Butterfly: Pickles is a total extrovert. She has loved every person and dog she’s met so far. Play Style: She follows the "play hard, nap hard" philosophy. She is a wrestling pro and a tug-of-war champion with her toys. Outdoor Adventurer: She absolutely loves being outside, enjoys going for walks, and is fascinated by everything from squeaky toys and balls to the simple joy of a good stick. The Ultimate Snuggler Pickles has a deep desire to be near her people. The moment you sit on the couch, expect a puppy in your lap or tucked right against your side. She’s not a fan of the "solo life" and has made it clear that she prefers sleeping in the big bed, where she impressively sleeps through the entire night without needing a potty break! Training & Boundaries Work in Progress: Like any young puppy, Pickles is still mastering the art of house training and walking on a leash. She’ll need a patient family dedicated to a consistent potty schedule. Good Listener: She lives with an older dog who sets firm boundaries. When she’s told "enough is enough," Pickles listens and respects the correction beautifully. Star Pupil: She is highly food-motivated, which is a huge plus for training! She has shown zero reactivity or resource guarding, making her a great candidate for a home with other pets. Ideal Home Pickles will thrive in a home with boundaries, training and lots of play and love! She’d love a yard to explore and a family (perhaps with another dog friend to wrestle with!) that can continue her training with plenty of treats, play and love! Ready to add a little "relish" to your life? Pickles is waiting for you! If you would like to meet Pickles, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Story
Meet Maple — your future best friend (and possibly the most underrated gem in rescue right now). While Maple is a cutie (those ears!!), her photos don’t do her personality justice—she’s truly charming in person. She’s the dog who will happily curl up nearby while you work or snooze the day away while you’re out, then be ready to cuddle up for a movie after dinner. Maple is low-maintenance, doesn’t shed, is 100% house trained, a great car traveler, and has excellent manners around the house (no chewing, no counter surfing, etc.). As an older gal, she’s calm without being boring- she loves to play with toys! Maple can be reactive around other dogs, so she’ll do best as the only pet or with an experienced owner who can help her feel comfortable—but with people, she is all love and adores every person she meets. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, easy companion, please consider Maple…she is ready for her forever home! If you would like to meet Maple, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Miss Sammy. I was a sidekick for a truck driver since I was 6 weeks old. Then I could not easily get in the truck and my dad's new company said I could not ride with him any longer. The transition has been confusing to me after I made a long road trip from Ohio to MN where I met my foster family. I would bark at the door and outside. My foster mom thinks I was hoping my family would hear and find me. But I have lots of love in my heart and have opened it up to my foster family. I follow my foster Mom around like a Velcro dog. My favorite pastime is when the kids play with me. They squeak my toys and crinkle the paper inside. I get so excited when they do this. Sometimes I even bark at them to ask them to play. I have a white face but don't let that fool you. I still have bursts of energy. My foster kiddo discovered I fetch the ball one day. I love to bring it back. But when the foster dog jumped in front of me and grabbed the ball I got pretty upset. He is bigger than me so I feel like I have to let him know who is boss. It would not be a good idea to play fetch with another dog present. I growl at him through the baby gate when we eat our food so I food guard, as well. Otherwise, I am chill around him and we get along. I am 60-65lbs and I look so tiny. But I am pretty solid. I have not asked to jump on the couch, but I did whine a little to get on the bed. However, I am fine sleeping on my dog pillow next to my foster parents' bed. I fuss a little bit when put in the kennel, but then I calm down and nap. I do not pull on a leash. I do bark at other dogs. When I am riding in the car, I bark at anything that moves. My foster mom does not know if I am doing it out of anxiety from the move or if this is typical of me. But I am an all-around great dog. I am trained and my foster mom says I am easy to have around. If you have stairs in your home my foster mom wants you to know I am a little slow going up steps, but the vet did not find arthritis. He did say I need to lose 5lbs, otherwise, I am healthy. He said with my cute personality I will go fast. If you are looking for a pretrained smart, playful, but also calm companion I am the one for you. I will melt your heart with my soulful gaze, when I am trying to tell you something. And I am pretty vocal once I know you. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Darlene Mannino for more information about this pet.Poppy update!   My name is Poppy. I was returned after 6 years with my last home. I was not so friendly with my foster sisters when I got here. I finally got use to being around other dogs and am learning to be part of a pack. I'm gonna need a strong alpha parent to help me to continue to grow out of my shell. I've never been around other puppers. I'm potty trained and have never had an accident in the house. I like to eat by myself and I may take all day to eat my food. I'm a lovey dove and love to be loved on. I try to be bossy and need reminding that I don't have to be bossy. I will follow you around anywhere you go.   Her DNA test results: 66% Boxer 14% German Shepherd 14% Chow Chow 6% Labrador Retriever  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 5:12 pm
