You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bree is a 10-year-old, female, pure bred Boxer. She is in the process of learning how to be a dog. She was rescued from a puppy mill and had never been out of a cage, so everything was new to her: grass, stairs, carpet, couch, house, etc. However, Bree is loving her new freedom and is making great strides every day. She loves other dogs, cats, people, and Pup cups! Bree is very smart and loving. She is almost fully potty trained and learned in only 2 weeks. Bree is scared of outside noises, such as cars going by on the road, so we haven't taken her for a walk down the road yet. She walks fine around our yard on a leash, but if there's a loud noise, she will try to hide. Bree is a sweet heart who is loving her new life. Rocco came to us from Up North where he had been living in a homeless encampment and somehow ended up in impound scheduled for euthanasia when one of our partners rescued him. He is the sweetest boxer/pug? mix you will ever want to meet. Born October 2023 he is a lover of all people he meets, but is best if his new home is cat-free. He has been around other dogs, rides perfectly in a vehicle and is simply a joy to know. He is dreaming of a new Home for the Holdays! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. Maxton came to BENCHS from the Mankato Animal Impound as an unclaimed City of Mankato stray, and he has quickly shown us what a bright, animated boy he is. Estimated to be about 3½ (nearly 4) years old and weighing just over 50 lbs, he’s the perfect mix of youthful energy and grown-up charm. This handsome guy is very smart — he already knows sit, shake, and high-five, and he’ll proudly show them off for a tasty treat. He’s incredibly food motivated, eager to learn, and would thrive with someone who enjoys continuing his training. Maxton is affectionate and expressive, often leaning in for attention or chatting with you in his vocal, goofy way. He’s a dog with personality and heart, and he’ll keep you entertained every day. He may be selective with other dogs, and we’re not sure how he feels about cats yet. We are recommending a home without very small children, simply because when he gets excited, he can take treats a bit rough — nothing a little polishing and consistency won’t help smooth out.
