Story
Ginger is a very sweet, 8 year old boxer mix lady looking to find a family to share in her golden years. Ginger is affectionate and enjoys hanging out with her people and then napping. SPECIAL NEEDS: Ginger has an eye condition that has led to her having very limited eyesight, and she will need life-long management to be pain-free and happy. She has been seen by the ophthalmologist at NEVO and has a plan for ongoing treatment. Ginger's new family will have to help manage her medical needs and will be compensated with kisses and snuggles. Ginger can be nervous when first meeting new people, so it might take a little longer for her to really settle in. Because of her age and eyesight, we think Ginger would prefer a quieter home. She does have her moments where she loves rolling around with her stuffy toys.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. POPPERS was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 30 October 2023. POPPERS is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of January 2023 and on has an estimated weight of 33 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue      YouTube channel      and      photo albums on our Facebook page      to see a LOT of pictures and videos. POPPERS is an absolute sweetheart, brimming with affection and love with the sweetest, gentle "old soul" type personality. He can come across like a couch potato but he loves to run and wrestle with his friends. When he was in the kennels he did gain some weight, which now he is more active he is losing them - but it is important for his family to be aware to keep him active to keep those dangerous pounds off. POPPERS is a top favourite with everyone he meets. He is a hard chewer of toys and anything other than tough chewing toys he will destroy - red kongs are like scooby snacks to him lol He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving.  He is responsive and is happy to show anyone he meets lots of love. He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. POPPERS is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $250. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. Story
* Can be adopted to the Houston TX area only * Asha was rescued in January 2022. Her previous owners other dog attacked her and tore open the side of her face. Exposing her jaw and tooth. The owner wasn’t sure when it happened exactly but best guess, she had been living in pain for a couple of months prior to being brought into the rescue. Asha was brought to an emergency veterinarian in Houston. She had a severe infection and abscess. She has undergone a dental procedure to remove 2 teeth and 4 procedures to get her wound to heal. She was also HW + and is in the process of treatment. Due to her continuing care, she is only available for adoption in TX. Asha is a 2 year old boxer/shepherd mix. Asha is described as a very sweet and gentle, but skittish. She isn’t interested in chew toys or playing but she goes crazy for treats and loves cuddles. She gets along with her foster siblings, although she's kind of standoffish. Asha is definitely more a people dog than a dog's dog if that makes sense. She follows her foster mom around literally everywhere, even trying to nudge her way in to the bathroom! Asha doesn't mind her kennel and will sometimes go in there on her own when she wants some separation from the other dogs. Asha has been wonderful with her fosters kids, “especially my daughter who is calmer and gives more love than my son.” She is a bit intimidated by the fosters husband but never shows any sort of aggression, only avoidance. She's smart and understands things like "all done" (for medicine/ treat time), "out" (potty time), "get" (as in get out of my kitchen 😆), "here" (not that she's usually far away!). We're working on "sit" and "stay" now. Asha is currently in a loving foster home in TX and is currently available for TX adoption only. If you or someone you know is interested in fostering or adopting, please fill out an application For fostering: https://form.jotform.com/201836990343156 For adopting: https://form.jotform.com/201828253780154 Please submit an application instead of sending an inquiry even if you just have questions. Sending an inquiry will slow down the process, limit the ways that we can contact you and may send our reply email to your spam folder. Another application could be processed instead of yours for this dog. All of our available adoptable dogs are on Facebook, Petfinder, Adopt a Pet and our website. If a dog is no longer listed it means they have an adoption pending. We are a nonprofit organization - all adoption fees go towards the rescue and veterinary care of these dogs in order to get them ready for their forever homes. We are a shelterless rescue. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes to help them de-stress and get used to a home environment while they await adoption, giving us the opportunity to understand their personalities and needs. Ready to Adopt? The next step is to fill out our Adoption Application. A volunteer will contact you to review your application and see if your family might be the right match. My name is Murf and I'm an adorable 5month old Boxer/Shepherd mix little boy. I am located near the Greeneville, Tennessee area and am available for transport to my forever home! My mom is a pretty German Shepherd mix & my dad, well, we think he was the milkbone delivery doggo and aren't sure of his breed. We do know that I'm 100% adorable! My mom and 6 other siblings were rescued from a pretty sad situation. We were living in deplorable conditions and not being taken care of. We are now in a great foster home awaiting to be adopted! Like any young pup, I love to eat, play with my siblings, explore, follow my foster mom around, and try to get into mischief. I would love to find a home that will take me on adventures, give me yummy treats, and play with me a lot! I'm still learning and am doing great with house & kennel training. I'm super smart and will catch on quickly to anything you can teach me. I'll also need obedience training to make sure we bond together and prove I'm the smartest pup around! Story
Looking to add a fun-loving, rambunctious young lady to your life? Jaycee may be the perfect pick, she's on the journey of finding her own forever family to grow with! Jaycee is an adolescent, roughly 60lb Pitbull mix lady who came to us as a stray in rough shape from obvious neglect and abuse. But now that she's put some weight on and feeling better, she's ready to start the next chapter of her life with you. Given her background, she can be a little shy of new human friends, but once she's had a chance to build some trust she is a goofy, playful and curious girl. She just needs some people willing to go at her pace while helping her learn all about the good stuff. She'd love attending a formal obedience class once she's settled. She is VERY food motivated and eager to learn, she's been working on her leash skills and well as some basic tricks! When she isn't picking up quick on all the different food toys and awesome chew bones, she enjoys playtimes in the yard and sunbathing once she's done her zoomies. Jaycee may not mind having a similar sized, confident but easy-going male canine friend to learn from and romp and play with. Being a mature lady, it'll take the right match of personalities and tolerance as well as multiple meets to see if everybody gets along. But she also wouldn't mind being your one and only to get all the attention. She really loves watching keenly to all the small critter activity, so would be best with no kitty or small animal friends.
