Story
Coco is a heartwarming testament to resilience and recovery. As a boxer-bulldog mix, she carries the distinctive traits of both breeds—a muscular build, broad chest, and a face that’s impossible not to love. Rescued from a harrowing situation of abuse, Coco's journey is one of triumph over adversity. When she first arrived at the rescue, the signs of her past were evident, both in her physical condition and her wary demeanor. However, thanks to the unyielding care and affection she's received, Coco has undergone an incredible transformation. Now, Coco is a beacon of joy and strength. She has impressively gained weight, her coat gleaming with health and her eyes sparkling with newfound confidence. Her blend of boxer and bulldog heritage gives her a unique appearance—she possesses the strength and alertness of a boxer along with the loyalty and courage of a bulldog. Coco’s recovery journey showcases not just her fighting spirit but also the boundless love and rehabilitation animals are capable of with support. Despite her challenging start in life, Coco's spirit remains unbroken. She approaches each day with an infectious enthusiasm and a tail that wags with hope. Coco is not just surviving; she is thriving, eagerly awaiting the day she finds her forever home where she can share all the love and loyalty she has to offer. Her story is a powerful reminder of the resilience inherent in animals and the transformative impact of compassionate care. Coco, with her mix of bravery and sweetness, is truly an inspiration to all who have the privilege of crossing paths with her. ##2004006##

Story
Ginger is a very sweet, 8 year old boxer mix lady looking to find a family to share in her golden years. Ginger is affectionate and enjoys hanging out with her people and then napping. SPECIAL NEEDS: Ginger has an eye condition that has led to her having very limited eyesight, and she will need life-long management to be pain-free and happy. She has been seen by the ophthalmologist at NEVO and has a plan for ongoing treatment. Ginger's new family will have to help manage her medical needs and will be compensated with kisses and snuggles. Ginger can be nervous when first meeting new people, so it might take a little longer for her to really settle in. Because of her age and eyesight, we think Ginger would prefer a quieter home. She does have her moments where she loves rolling around with her stuffy toys.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. POPPERS was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 30 October 2023. POPPERS is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of January 2023 and on has an estimated weight of 33 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue      YouTube channel      and      photo albums on our Facebook page      to see a LOT of pictures and videos. POPPERS is an absolute sweetheart, brimming with affection and love with the sweetest, gentle "old soul" type personality. He can come across like a couch potato but he loves to run and wrestle with his friends. When he was in the kennels he did gain some weight, which now he is more active he is losing them - but it is important for his family to be aware to keep him active to keep those dangerous pounds off. POPPERS is a top favourite with everyone he meets. He is a hard chewer of toys and anything other than tough chewing toys he will destroy - red kongs are like scooby snacks to him lol He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving.  He is responsive and is happy to show anyone he meets lots of love. He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. POPPERS is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $250. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats.
