Story
Sierra--EVERYONE'S FRIEND! Sierra is 5 years old this month and we celebrated by getting her dressed up for Easter (7 yr old granddaughter's idea). She is a marshmallow-NOT a mean bone in her body. She is a mixed boxer with beautiful tricolors-about 50 pounds/24" high/35" long. She will become your most loyal friend after many pettings and/or scratches of her smooth, silky coat. She is excellent on a leash at any pace on the right side (rather than the left). She is an excellent car rider. She is the calmest dog with no barking, no jumping up, and no begging. She lounges on a canvas bed, a soft fur bed, a towel, or a blanket on the floor. She would love to join a sister or brother--she simply LOVES other dogs. Okay with kids as long as they understand not to hug her around her middle! She has no known medical issues--updated shots, chipped, fixed, house broken. She eats twice daily and will adjust to your schedule. It will take Sierra a few weeks to adjust but then you will have an amazing pup! Please consider making her a part of your family and the first step and the best way to do that is to email storkwoods@comcast.net directly for an adoption application. Sierra is being fostered in Middle TN but we do have transport available to areas in the NE area.

Story
We call Desperado, King Desperado for a good reason. He fiercely protects and defends his foster dad and his domain there in the foster home.  You see Desperado lost his owner to bad times and bad things that his owner decided to do.  5 months ago his owner ended up behind bars and so did King Desperado and his brother end up behind the bars in a small town rural shelter. His brother fell ill in the shelter and passed away.  Miraculously Desperado was spared and there he stayed and languished with no one visiting the shelter to adopt many of the dogs there.  Just at Christmas the shelter was cleaning house.  Taking all the dogs that had been there for a while and putting them on the euthanize list.  Desperado was on the list but Critter Cavalry Rescue had fosters who stepped up to take him out of the shelter and literally save his life.  Desperado is a work in progress but here are some fun facts about him that foster Joshua says you really need to know about this great 2 year old boy dog that weighs 65 pounds. 1: He will kennel with no complaints when you need to leave the house or go to bed, tho he much prefers to occupy the same space as you in bed as opposed to being kenneled. 2: He does not know what personal space is, his favorite thing in the world is giving kisses and snuggling his people. 3: He has med/high energy, but is also very much a couch potato. 4: He plays like a boxer and walks like a hound. We are working on leash etiquette. 5: He is dog reactive on leash, but we have not tested him with other dogs free in the yard. 6: We are working with a trainer to try and curb this reactivity, as well as some basic obedience. 7: A 4 ft fence will keep him contained, and is highly recommended. He will bolt if he gets on an interesting scent. 8: He has liked every human he has met both big and small, tho he may be a bit excitable near little kids, I'd say 8+ is good to go. 9: 100% house broken, and easily learned the bathroom routine in my house. 10: He is EXTREMELY food motivated. 11: He is a bit jumpy but is gentle about it.  It probably comes from spending 5 months in a shelter and not having his confidence built up in his life.  All this can and will change. His foster dad knows that Desperado is going to be an amazing dog with just a little more work and stability in his life.  He only got out of the shelter just before Christmas and boy was that a gift to him!  His foster dad has him in training for the leash reactions which many dogs have.  He adores people…he loves life and you will love Desperado and his devotion to YOU and your family!  We request that you have a fenced yard if you adopt.  Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  mention where you live please…city and state. We transport all over!!! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 28, 2023, 9:50 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
My name is Momma Abby but you can call me QUEEN ABBY.   I am a recent momma dog that gave birth to six beautiful puppies on Thanksgiving of 2022, November 24th to be exact.  I came from a sad overcrowding situation at a home that would be considered hoarding.  I gave birth in a clean home and my babies are being adopted to great new families right now.  I was a great momma to my babies and I live with a single woman who just adores me and I adore her.   I am housebroken and I have learned how to live very well with her other 4 dogs, big and small.  I am crated when she is gone and I look forward to her returning to give me attention after her work day.  I am truly on my way to getting my figure back.  I am mostly a Boxer breed and I came from the Memphis Tennessee area and am in a foster home in Nashville, Tn right now.  I am very sweet and enjoy people but I will protect and guard my foster mom’s home if I think someone is a danger to my foster mom.  I love the new life that is ahead for me.  I am currently guessed to be 2 years old and weigh 48 pounds. I am being spayed on March 14th and then I will be absolutely your girl forever and every again.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving me the home that I have always dreamed about. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 28, 2023, 9:50 pm

Story
Deja is a really great girl that found herself in a very bad situation. When she was turned in to the local kill shelter, we knew we had to step up and save this sweet girl. When the girls like Deja get admitted to an already crowded small town kill shelter, it takes a miracle from God to save their life.  Well Deja got that miracle and as a young Bulldog/Boxer/Lab mix around 2 years old, this girl is going to really bring some sunshine to their life.  This dog is a true athlete and is a very fit and strong girl of 54 lbs. All Deja wants in life is to please you and spread her happy attitude and personality with everyone she meets.  She would be the perfectcompanion for an active person that enjoys hiking, running or just being outside. She loves her toys, almost too much, so you can only give her those indestructible Tuff and durable toys.  At her foster place she loves to spend her days playing outside or just lounging in the sunshine with her current best friend. Deja is fully vetted and ready to find her new home. Her best friend is Polar. (FYI - her current best friend is also available for adoption! We could certainly make a DEAL for a double adoption).  Contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 28, 2023, 9:50 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   SLINKY-Girl was transferred to GaDaH from a high kill shelter in Texas on 22nd April 2023. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos.      SLINKY-Girl is spayed rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick tested negative. She is on monthly prevention, microchipped, has an estimated date of birth of 8 January 2023 and at the time of transport weighed 18.4 pounds. We have no way of knowing what the actual breed is, so it is up to people to look at the pictures and video's to make up their own mind. SLINKY-Girl is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine for an adoption fee of $550.       This adoption fee covers the cost of running a brick and mortar rescue as well as any transport, veterinary, food,   treats, toys costs and the many expenses that rescues endure to keep the pets in their care safe, and happy.     Be sure to read all the information and if interested, go to the rescue website to submit an adoption application. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 The rescue buys food in bulk, by the truck load and there are a variety of brands and flavors. None of the food given is less than a 4* food rating. There have not been issues with eating any of the varying foods. It is important that you do your research on the ingredients and speak to your vet or a nutritionist on grain vs grain free! &#226&#128&#139You MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the kill shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the "3 Point Rule" Days 1-3 your dog is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your dog is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3-month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 1-2 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then we can schedule your appointment to come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine for meet/greet/adopt Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx. 8 miles) and approx. 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
