She is in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS and can transport once an adopter is matched. Meet Trix – The Shy Girl with the Sweetest, Smartest Soul Trix and her brother were surrendered to a shelter in Houston, and it was clear from the start that she was the more shut down of the two. While her brother has already found his forever family, we knew Trix needed extra time in foster care to build confidence before beginning her own journey home. Trix was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans. That said, she has never shown any reactivity — no growling, barking, lunging, nipping, or biting. When she’s unsure, she simply looks for a safe place to hide (a closet, under a deck, a quiet corner). She is gentle — just scared. She is also very quiet and incredibly observant. Trix watches everything going on around her and picks things up quickly. She is VERY smart. Doggy door? She had that figured out within just a couple of days. She may be shy, but she is always learning. After a few days in a new environment, you can see her begin to soften. With patience and intentional time spent building trust, she grows more comfortable being near her people. Over time, she’ll surprise you — playing with toys when she thinks no one is watching, running and sunbathing with other dogs, and eventually choosing to curl up on the couch or sleep in bed with her humans. Trix does well with other dogs after proper acclimation, and we strongly believe she would thrive with a confident canine companion to follow and learn from. While not an absolute requirement, adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building. Just before her life was about to end in an overcrowded shelter, Anabelle was rescued and given the opportunity to discover what it means to be safe, cared for, and cherished. She has embraced that second chance with an open heart, and now she's searching for the family that will love her forever. Anabelle is a playful, affectionate girl with a wonderful mix of curiosity and sweetness. She may be a little shy when meeting someone new, but it doesn't take long before her personality shines—especially if there's a toy involved! Plush toys, squeaky toys, treats...they're all favorites. Once she trusts you, she'll happily lean in for pets, rest her head in your lap, and soak up every bit of affection you're willing to give. She enjoys spending time with other dogs and has done especially well with larger canine companions, though she's also been friendly with smaller dogs. Anabelle has a playful, moderate energy level and loves running around the yard, but she also knows how to settle down after a good play session. Spot, 12 weeks, male, Pitbull Terrier mix, currently weighs 18 pounds and expected to be a larger size when full grown. He is in a foster home in Houston, Texas. Spot was abandoned with a couple other puppies. A woman found them and brought them home. Unfortunately, this is an all too common issue plaguing Texas. While we don't know how they came to be dumped, we do know they are happy and healthy puppies. Spot is the thoughtful one of the duo—the curious little guy who likes to take a moment to observe before jumping into new adventures. Once he knows everything is okay, his playful, loving personality shines. Whether he's romping around the yard, chasing toys, or wrestling with his sister, Spot is always happy to join the fun. He has a wonderful balance of energy. Spot loves to run, explore, and play with other dogs, but he's just as happy curling up for cuddles after a day of puppy adventures. His favorite toys are pumpkin ring toys, and at the end of the day, you'll often find him snuggled up with his sister, resting his head on hers as they drift off to sleep. Spot has been wonderful with other dogs, playing respectfully and recognizing when it's time to take a break. He's also lived peacefully around cats, showing little interest beyond a quick glance. Although he hasn't met children yet, his gentle, affectionate nature suggests he would do well with respectful kids, with the supervision that all young puppies need.
