Story

Winnie is 12 years old. Very sweet, we have never heard her bark, growl or make much of any noise, she loves to be on the couch and loves to sun bathe. She loves to be outside, but will get bored and dig. She is the sweetest dog I have ever met, she is very shy and can be skittish. She just wants to be loved. She sleeps a lot and can only go up stairs by being picked up. SOCIAL STATUS: She has been a total sweetie pie with our other dog and she completely ignores our cats. She loves little kids. ENERGY LEVEL: Very low energy, she sleeps about 8 hours out of the day. she knows how to sit and has good manners. She cannot walk up or down stairs without being picked up. She also takes encouragement to get off couches / furniture / etc. She takes encouragement to get up after sleeping as well. She does have allergies, which she takes a daily pill for. She does not play with toys, but the only toy she has ever seemed interested in is a soft bunny we got her for Easter. She loves to cuddle with it and use it as a pillow sometimes, it will be going with her. We also give her 1 dental stick a day and a treat bone a day. SPAY: Will be before she’s rehomed Up to date on all shots, takes monthly heart worm prevention. Will be spayed & microchipped before going to a home. We take her on daily walks on leash, she loves them. We also let her outside for about 2 hours daily (alone) and she wanders the fenced in yard and plays., she needs to be in a fenced yard because she only has 25% vision and will get lost without one.

She also jumps when she is excited. Lizzy is all about people yet picky about other pups. While we know she would do well as the only pup in a home, we welcome you to schedule an appointment to meet her and bring your pup to meet her. It's always a good idea to do a brief dog-to-dog assessment with pups like Lizzy. Lizzy is fully vaxed, dewormed, spayed, and HW negative! She is ready for her people to fall in love with her and take her home!

She would love another dog in her forever home that is confident and well behaved, to help show her that new things aren't scary. She does have some anxiety, and is currently taking medications that are making a huge difference for her. She would do best living in a home with experienced dog owners who are patient with her, and willing to provide a consistent environment for her to thrive. She would do well with kitties, but they should a dog savvy cat would be best. Cassi can be vocal, so she would not do well in high density housing. Cassi needs humans who are not gone for long hours. All humans in her forever home must be 12 years of age, or older. She requires a fenced in yard (physical fencing no invisible fences please). She is up to date on preventative medications, vaccines and has been spayed and micro chipped too. Her favorite activity is to go on walks and hikes, so she definitely requires an active home that will supply regular exercise. Her second favorite activity is fetch, so sessions of retrieving between exploration sessions is a winning combo for her in life. But don't worry, one this girl has an outing- she's all about the cuddle sessions too- fair warning- she's a total couch and bed hog... She lives with cats in her foster home, but does best with a confident cat who will not be timid in her presence. We have had Ivy in rescue since December of 2023 when she was just a pup. She’s now 9 months old and so ready for a home to call her own! We understand the thought of adopting a #specialneedspup can be fairly daunting, but we’ve done the hard part for you! Ivy’s medical needs post-surgery were definitely akin to having a newborn baby. Schedules for her medicine, small meals throughout the day and weekly weigh ins….not to mention the meal prepping! Thankfully through trial and error we have a diet that works great for Ivy which is very manageable and she has no hindrances to leading a normal dog life!
