Story
Bruno is a silly and awkward boy that I love so so much but can no longer take care of him as he deserves. He gets anxious when left alone and will chew his paws so it’s best he goes to a home with another dog or to a home where he’s not left alone. Bruno is house trained but he is not crate trained. He knows basic commands like sit lay down wait and break. He loves car rides runs and meeting new friends human or animal. He’s pretty submissive even to cats lol and not aggressive at all. Great with kids and other animals just gets super excited and a bit jumpy. I’m actually really sad that I can’t afford him anymore and can’t give him what he needs but I’m really hoping he can go to a kind family who will see him as a family member and not just a pet. Bruno is such a good goofy boy and has gotten me through a lot so I hope whatever family he goes to is willing to stay in touch and let me know how he’s doing every now and then. I have a crate, food bin and bowls/heightened tray 4free.

Story
You may call 919-772-2326 to speak to a counselor for more information prior to your visit. The SPCA has an adoption counseling process for adopters to learn adoption guidelines and adoption options. Hi there! I'm Reba, a sweet senior gal looking for my forever home. I've got a heart full of love and I'm always ready to shower my future family with affection and cuddles. After spending some time on my own, I'm hoping to find a special person who will cherish me and give me the love and attention I've been dreaming about. I may be a little older, but I've got plenty of spirit and love to give! I'm incredibly friendly and always eager to make new human friends. I'm looking for a calm and loving home where I can spend my golden years being pampered, loved, and becoming your absolute best friend. Are you ready to welcome me into your heart?I’m full grown at ~50 lbs.How did I get here? Transferred from Forsyth County Animal Shelter.**I am currently living in a foster home - please fill out a survey and select a phone appointment to complete the adoption process. Once that process is complete, your adoption specialist will schedule a time for you to meet us in person!**~My adoption fee is waived thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization.~Many adoptions will take approximately 1 hour or more. Adoption requirements and tips to speed up the adoption process: Please be able to provide a valid photo I.D. with your current address (If your I.D. does not reflect your current address, bring a piece of mail with your name and address on it) Be able to prove that you are allowed to have a pet where you live (proof of home ownership or a copy of your rental lease including the specific pet policy) Bring along all members of your household, including dogs for an introduction to a new dog. However, we do recommend meeting with an adoption counselor before involving children in the pet selection process. To avoid longer wait times, we strongly recommended that dog-to-dog meetings take place after 1:00pm. Participate in adoption counseling process to learn adoption guidelines and adoption options. Adoption Fees: Dogs & Puppies: $115.00 Cats & Kittens: $95.00 Rabbits: $50.00 Adoption fees include: Basic wellness exam, first vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, deworming and flea preventative. All cats and kittens have tested negative for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). All dogs and puppies have received heartworm preventative, and dogs/puppies over the age of six months have been tested for heartworms. All rabbits are spayed or neutered. Understand that the SPCA of Wake County reserves the right to deny an adoption. You may call 919-772-2326 to speak to a counselor for more information prior to your visit. August 25, 2026, 12:15 am

Story
Sarsaparilla — better known as Sass or Sassy Pants — is a one-year-old sweetheart looking for a very special forever home. She came into rescue at just four months old with her mom and siblings after spending the first months of her life surviving on their own with very little human interaction. While many of her siblings adjusted quickly to people and have since been adopted, Sass is still learning that humans can be safe, kind, and loving. Sass has made slow but meaningful progress in foster care, and watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding. She may not be the kind of dog who runs up to greet strangers, but underneath her fear is a goofy, playful girl with so much potential. Once she feels safe, she loves lounging beside her foster mom on the couch, playing with toys, wrestling with her foster siblings, and romping around the yard. She’ll even accept the occasional belly rub when she’s feeling brave. Sass absolutely thrives around other dogs and feels most comfortable following the lead of her foster siblings. Because of this, her ideal home will have another friendly, confident dog to help guide her and continue teaching her how to trust and enjoy life as a beloved pet. She is house trained, crate trained, and does very well with a consistent routine. A calm home with patient adopters and a securely fenced yard would help her continue building confidence at her own pace. Sass is what we lovingly call a “project dog.” She will need a patient and understanding family willing to celebrate small victories and allow her the time and space she needs to blossom. While she may never be the life of the party, we truly believe the bond she forms with her people will be something incredibly special. Sometimes the dogs who need a little extra love end up giving the most in return. 💛 Apply for Sass at www.pittfriends.com

Story
Omena’s beauty will stop you in your tracks. It’s not just her white‑and‑brown coat and her gorgeous face, but the softness in her expression and the tenderness in her eyes that makes this boxer mix a true beauty. At 49 pounds, Omena carries herself with a gentle curiosity, wanting to meet new dog friends and explore the world, even if she’s still a little shy as she figures things out. She’s done the hard work of raising puppies, and now it’s finally her turn. Omena is ready to find a forever family who will give her the love, attention, and stability she deserves. Her soulful brown eyes convey the bigness of her heart, her sweet spirit, and her quiet hope for a life where she can feel safe, adored, and included. She does well with other dogs and has a nice medium energy level, meaning she will walk with you but is happy to sleep in just as well! If you’re looking for a tender, loving companion who’s ready to blossom now that her mothering days are behind her, Omena is waiting with her gentle curiosity and her beautiful, open heart. Meet her today!
