Meet Sugar Cube! She’s our new resident gardener here at CPHS. She enjoys pruning our trees and bushes on the regular. She can’t stand a yard that’s not properly manicured ??.She is 5 years old and a Pitbull Mix. She was an unclaimed stray so we can’t tell you much about her past. Sugar Cube tested well with dogs; she will present unsure at first meet, but then gets into play mode. She absolutely hates cats. She can live with kids. Her selling point? Her butt wiggle. You can’t live without it.** Sugar Cube is in our care in Altoona PA. She is available for adoption. Each animal gets microchipped, 4DX tested, spayed/neutered and vaccinated. The adoption fee covers those costs. Adoption fees are listed on the application. An application must be filled out in order to visit with any dog or cat. They can be found on our website www.centralpahumane.org under the Adopt A Pet tab or at the shelter. Our animals are posted on Facebook and Petfinder when time permits. A Petfinder inquiry is not an application, and they may not be responded to. We can only accept so many applications for each animal. We do adopt out of state, but we cannot hold the animal. **PA Kennel License #1333.

Story
Gonzo is a stunning, exuberant, lively young boxer mix who is ready for a new family to call his own. Unfortunately, he is in this position due to an unforeseen health issue with his previous owner. Gonzo is extremely friendly, loving, sweet, and extroverted. He thrives around people and loves to spend quality time with his human companions. As a 1-year-old dog, he is very energetic and excitable, and has high enthusiasm when he receives attention from people or other dogs. He is still learning how to control his body and reign in his excitement and would benefit from some training as well as lots of exercise! He loves being outside, playing outside, and getting multiple walks a day. In addition, Gonzo is quite strong and still needs quite a bit of leash walk training. However, he is coachable, very attentive, and listens well. He already knows several basic commands and is very responsive to vocal cues. Gonzo loves everyone, including other dogs and is compatible with kids as well. He also previously coexisted very successfully with an adult who had special needs. Gonzo is a ball of life, joy, and excitement and he is ready to bring a lot of fun to a new lucky family. Do you think you can provide Gonzo with a forever home? Run D.O.G. is a 6 year old male. He unfortunately was part of another Bedford hoarding house. We are suspecting he will need help with house training. Otherwise, he is a very happy guy! He has a lot of energy and would be a great outdoor hiking companion or a sport dog. He is a food thief and will take advantage of short children and steal their food lol! He will need to learn some manners, or he will be counter surfing. We know his high energy will not be compatible with all dogs. He is unsure about cats so we are still testing him to see what we think.** RUN D.O.G. is in our care in Altoona PA. He is available for adoption.
