🤎🐾 MEET LULU — 61 LBS OF BRINDLE BEAUTY, ZOOMIES & UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! 🐾🤎 ✨ Big girl. Bigger heart. Absolutely NO idea how big she is! 😂💕 Meet Lulu, a gorgeous 10–12-month-old brindle girl who we believe may be a Boxer/Great Dane mix, although her exact breed is unknown. At 61 lbs, she's already a big, beautiful girl and we believe she's close to her full-grown size. But here's the thing about Lulu… she thinks she's about 10 pounds! 🤣 💔 FROM SURVIVAL TO SECOND CHANCES Lulu and her brother, Canelo, were found wandering the streets near the Texas/Mexico border. They were painfully skinny, hungry, and covered in fleas and ticks. Thankfully, a kind Good Samaritan couldn't stand to see them suffer and stepped in to help. Today, Lulu and Canelo are safe at a sanctuary in South Texas, and our rescue is stepping up to help find them the loving forever homes they deserve. ❤️ Now it's Lulu's turn to find her people! 🐕 SHE LOVES OTHER DOGS! Lulu absolutely LOVES her canine friends and would do best in a home with another friendly, playful dog. She's an active girl who thrives on having a buddy to run, play, and share adventures with. And when we say run, we mean RUN! 😂 🏃‍♀️ Run around the property. 🐎 Gallop like a little horse. 💨 Get the cutest zoomies imaginable. 🔄 Do a few more laps for good measure! Lulu has energy to spare and is always ready for another round of fun. One of her favorite playmates at the sanctuary is a 30-pound dog. Lulu will come charging over, ready to play, only for her smaller friend to stop her in her tracks. And what does Lulu do? She rolls straight onto her back and shows her belly! 🥹 Despite her size, Lulu is incredibly submissive, gentle, and sweet with her dog friends. She has such a soft heart and a wonderfully goofy personality. 💕 A GENTLE GIANT WITH A LOT OF LOVE TO GIVE Lulu is the kind of dog who could make a wonderful companion for the right family. With her gentle nature, she may even have the potential to become a therapy dog with appropriate training, exercise, and assessment. She does need some continued training, though! Lulu sometimes jumps up on people because she's excited and doesn't realize just how BIG she is. Basic manners and polite greetings will be important for this lovable giant. 🍗 A LITTLE FOODIE WITH A BIG APPETITE! Lulu loves her food… perhaps a little TOO much! 😂 She eats from a slow feeder to help slow things down, and she may be tempted to investigate anything left on the counter. Counter-surfing could become her next hobby if her humans aren't careful! She'll need a family willing to manage food safely, maintain a consistent feeding routine, and continue teaching her those all-important manners. 🏡 THE GOOD NEWS? SHE'S ALREADY HOUSE-TRAINED AND CRATE-TRAINED! That's right! Lulu has a wonderful head start on settling into family life. 🐱 She's seen cats from a distance but hasn't met them up close. Given her sweet, gentle personality, we think she may do well with cats, but a careful introduction and proper supervision would be essential. 💦 She LOVES hopping around in the doggy pool to cool off before heading straight back to her favorite activity… Galloping around! 🛋️ And after all that running? Lulu believes she deserves a spot on the couch, preferably snuggled right up against her humans. In her mind, she's still a tiny lap dog. This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. Rosie is a 5 year old, cane corse/boxer mix who was brought to ARC when her previous owners could no longer care for her. We have helped Rosie settled in here at the shelter, but we know she would do so much better somewhere where she can run around and roll in the grass all day. Her zoomies are the best thing about her- and she’d LOVE to show them off for you! She has the biggest smile which means her choppers are perfect at catching things mid air and if its not a toy you`re throwing her way make sure it is a treat because she loves those just as much. Rosie enjoys going for walks and is learning to walk properly on a leash. She has been such a sweet girl to everyone she has met so far and would love to find a home where she can be loved and cared for. Rosie is open to meeting other dogs (a meet and greet would be required at our shelter for any canine siblings, *NO CATS*). Rosie is spayed, microchipped & up to date on all vaccinations. Chanel is an adorable girl estimated to be around 1½ years old, and our best guess is that she’s a Boxer/Lab/Pit mix.She is an incredibly sweet and lovable girl with a gentle personality. Chanel can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but give her a little time to get comfortable and you’ll quickly see just how much love she has to give. Meet Melany, she is a cheerful three-year-old Boxer mix who weighs about 50 pounds. She handles car rides with ease and enjoys being around people, having loved everyone she’s met so far. Melany has a soft spot for her fur friend, Beatrice, and is especially happy when they play together. They were both pulled off the euthanasia list at Barc.Melany has a heart full of joy and a sunny disposition, making her a wonderful companion for a loving home. Melany’s story is one of resilience and happiness, a true happy girl who is ready to bring warmth and laughter to her future family.Located in Houston, Texas. Tony is very urgent. He is a really great dog just has high energy and needs more to life than a kennel. He has lived with kids previously and done well but he is so active that he may knock them over. He was found as a stray a couple years ago and now the family couldn't handle him. We are looking for the right home for Scooby. We received him from a friend, and his DOB is August 26, 2025, so he is just over a year old. Scooby is a very loving and affectionate dog with lots of energy. He is also strong and would do best with someone who is comfortable handling an energetic, powerful young dog and who has the time to give him plenty of exercise, attention, and structure. Unfortunately, Scooby does not get along well with two of our smaller dogs, which is why we feel finding him a more suitable home would be best for everyone. We want to make sure he goes to a safe, loving home where he can thrive. This is not an easy decision for us, and we want to be thoughtful about where he goes.
