Story
Meet Emma! She’s a 10-month-old boxer mix, and just look at that sweet face! With her sleek black coat, floppy ears, and big soulful brown eyes, she’s the kind of pup that turns heads everywhere she goes. Emma has such a soft, gentle presence, and there’s something about the way she gazes up at you that feels like pure love and devotion. She’s the kind of dog who makes you smile without even trying. Emma is incredibly sweet, gentle, loving, and affectionate. She’s the perfect companion for little adventurers or anyone looking for a fun hiking buddy. She’s very social and does wonderfully with kids and other dogs, and she would thrive in a home with another canine friend to play and snuggle with. A feline-free home would be best for her, as her instincts may lead her to chase cats. She is crate trained, doing fantastic with house training, and eager to please her people. Emma is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to bring so much love and joy into her forever family’s life. Whoever welcomes her home will truly be lucky to have her!

Story
Adoption Donation  $ 599 Located: RI Age: approx. 2 years old Weight: 45 lbs.   Iris is a sweet, smaller boxer mix at 45 lbs. that would love to be part of a young, active family with kids. She was surrendered by a mom with 4 kids when they became homeless and are hoping she finds a family to love her like they did. She would do best with a stay at home or work from home parent and a fenced yard for her to run and play in. She's hoping for a life filled with love and adventures. She is up to date on vaccines and her spay is included with the adoption fee.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  mmm651@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
Meet Lumos, a bright and bouncy 1-year-old Boxer mix whose name is as magical as his personality! Weighing in at 45 lbs, Lumos is full of life, love, and goofy charm. This playful pup is a total socialite—he adores other dogs and thrives on playtime, especially games of fetch and tug of war. He’s not just fun—he’s smart too! Lumos already knows several commands like sit, stay, lay, paw, and place, and he’s fully potty trained. Lumos greets everyone like a long-lost friend, bringing enthusiastic energy and a wagging tail wherever he goes. Because of his exuberant spirit (and a bit of jumping), he’d be happiest in a home with older children. Due to his energy levels, he would love a fenced in yard for playing fetch and he would prefer a home without kitties. If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate, and active companion, Lumos might be your perfect match! Lumos is currently being fostered in RI and is available for adoption throughout Northeastern states. *All breed listings are educated guesses and not guaranteed*

Story
Meet Apollo! 🐾 Apollo is a 4-year-old neutered male Boxer who is a total ball of energy and ready to find his new best friends! He perfectly embodies the classic Boxer personality—playful, goofy, affectionate, and always ready for fun. If you love the typical Boxer zest for life, Apollo will fit right into your heart (and probably your lap!). Apollo previously lived in a home with a baby and seems to think everyone he meets is his new best friend. He’s a social guy who loves being around people and being part of whatever is going on. Like many enthusiastic pups, Apollo could use a little help polishing up his manners—but who couldn’t? With some consistency, training, and plenty of outlets for his energy, he has all the potential to be an amazing companion. We don’t have any history of Apollo living with other dogs or cats, but we’d be happy to discuss introductions and what a successful transition might look like in your home. Experience with the Boxer breed would be wonderful, but it’s not required. Apollo is just looking for an active home that will embrace his playful spirit and help him continue learning and growing. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who will keep you smiling, Apollo might be your perfect match! Apply to adopt today, and/or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐶💛

Story
Sunny lives up to her name in every possible way. This beautiful girl recently joined rescue and has already proven herself to be an easygoing, happy companion who is ready to brighten someone’s world. While we don’t know much about Sunny’s past, we do know she found her way to safety when she showed up one day at a home in rural Mississippi. Thankfully, the homeowner contacted our southern rescue partner, and Sunny’s journey to a better life began.Sunny does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around, but she would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one-and-only. She’s always up for an adventure but is just as content soaking up ear scratches and curling into the nearest soft dog bed when the day winds down. She is also doing amazing with her foster mom’s 6-year-old grandson and has shown herself to be gentle and affectionate with kids. One of her absolute favorite pastimes? Finding the perfect sunny spot and basking like the radiant girl she is — which makes her name especially fitting. As for her breed, Sunny is keeping us guessing. From the front she gives off strong boxer vibes, while her profile hints at a possible shepherd mix. Whatever her DNA may say, one thing is certain: Sunny is 100% sweetheart. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bring warmth, joy, and plenty of sunshine into your life, Sunny is ready to shine her way straight into your heart.Name: SunnyBreed: Shepherd/Boxer (no DNA has been done and therefore no guarantees are made with regard to this dog’s breed mix.Sex: FemaleAge: 9 monthsWeight: 60lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the adopter's responsibility.Heartworm: Negative at most recent testing Housetrained: YesMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:   Mississippi     Puppy Adoption Fee:  $600.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)                                      $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee applies to Massachusetts residents. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee when applicableATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
As a rescue, We do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanise. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. Cinderella is a sweet little girl that weighs 20.6#s and is around 2 years old.Heartworm negative and other dogs didn't bother her, neither did the cat. Seems to be a boxer mix possibly? She’s just really tiny!
