Story
Meet dear Zorro, your future happy best friend, adventure buddy, and personal shadow all wrapped into one adorable 1-year-old pup.Zorro’s story began on the streets of Memphis, where he was left to fend for himself—but you’d never guess it from the dog he is today. This handsome boy has blossomed into a sweetheart. He is full of personality and charm — including the absolute cutest little head tilt whenever you talk to him. He loves people and genuinely seems to believe everyone he meets is a new friend. He’s affectionate, curious about everything, and hands out kisses freely. Because of his energetic and enthusiastic play style, he would likely do best with children ages 7 and up.Zorro loves other dogs and plays beautifully with them—respectful, social, and happy to share both toys and attention. He also does well with cats when given proper introductions. He is potty trained, crate trained, food motivated, and rarely barks. He’s still learning how to fully relax outside of his crate, since he always wants to be part of the action, but with structure, enrichment, and consistency he continues to make great progress. He loves being outside exploring, sniffing every leaf and stick he can find, and he’s doing really well working on his leash skills. He’s eager to learn and happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing. This medium-energy pup loves a good balance of adventure and downtime. One of his favorite hobbies is chewing on toys and bones, and having appropriate things to chew helps him settle. Like any young pup, he’s still polishing up a few manners. He gets excited and can be a bit jumpy when meeting people, and because he loves being close to his humans, he tends to follow you everywhere (sometimes directly under your feet). He’s also been known to sneak in a little counter surfing now and then if something especially tasty gets left within reach.Zorro boy is so loving, goofy and endlessly entertaining — the kind of dog who will make you laugh daily and love you completely.More than anything, he’s ready for a forever home where he can finally feel safe, adored, and included.Name: ZorroBreed: Boxer/Pittie (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).Sex: MaleAge: 1 year (estimated)Weight: 45Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $550.00 $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.Location of dog currently: MA IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
