Story
Rin is a petite brindle beauty, about two years old, with a massive zest for life packed into her small pittie frame. She’s sweet, playful, and fast on her feet—especially when there’s a tennis ball involved! Fetch is her absolute favorite game, and she’ll happily chase after the ball as long as you throw it.This high-energy girl is still very puppyish in her behavior, despite paperwork suggesting she’s closer to 2. Luckily, she settles well in her crate after playtime and loves nothing more than being close to her people. Rin’s love language is touch—she wants to climb into your lap, wrap herself around you, and soak up every ounce of affection.Rin is incredibly social with humans and wants to meet every person she sees. With other dogs, however, she’s still learning her manners. She can be a bit too pushy and insistent, which has led to some altercations with tolerant males she’s been introduced to. With training, structure, and patience, Rin has excellent potential to mature into a more respectful playmate. For now, she may do best as your one-and-only pup while she learns. This gal is very smart and she already knows several basic commands. Check these out in this video:https://youtube.com/shorts/mnnSy7AHaEoIf you’re looking for a fun, loving, athletic companion who will make you laugh and keep you moving, Rin is your girl!Name: RinBreed: Boxer/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 47.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Loves all people she meets, not specifically tested with childrenGood with Dogs: Yes, but needs to learn social cues - she's an "in your face" puppy.Good with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00 Location of dog currently: Connecticut  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
We are obsessed with Pippa. She is a 9 month old, female, Boxer mixed breed. *Please note: Pippa is currently in a foster home and can be met by appointment only. Please email us at HeartofRIAdoption@gmail.com or call (401) 467-3670 to schedule an appointment to meet her.* Her soft, expressive face that tells a story of both hardship and resilience. She was found on the side of the road with her sibling, painfully thin and searching for food wherever she could. During intake at the southern rescue, she was so hungry that she tried to eat her dewormer. The crushing memory of that moment has stayed with everyone who has met her. Even with all she has been through, her sweetness remains. She is slowly learning that meals come regularly now, that hands can be kind, and that people can be safe. Each day she relaxes a little more, leans in a little closer, and begins to trust the world in front of her. Staff and volunteers have quickly fallen for her quiet bravery. She accepts love with growing confidence and is discovering the joy of soft beds, full bowls, and gentle voices. Pippa will blossom beautifully in a patient home where she can continue to learn what it means to be secure and adored. She has already come so far and has so much love ahead of her. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. ADOPTION INFORMATION HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: - Come in during adoption hours to apply and fill out an application completely. We look forward to hearing from you. I am a very sweet girl… I am shy at first but I will open up my heart you. It took me almost 3 weeks to settle down into my foster home. I loved having the foster puppies around they were fun to play with. I now like to play with the big dogs I am learning to be a dog. I get to get up on the couch and the bed with my foster mom. I like the bed she keeps telling me it’s okay I have never been on the bed before… I don’t like crates but I like my pen I get to stay when my foster mom is gone. I have learned the doggie door and it’s so much fun going in and out of it. I am learning being outside can be fun especially when all the other dogs go outside. I am working on sits and stays but I am still a little nervous with the trainer. Give me time and I will give you love… I would loved to be called your girl…. I just need some patience and some love and we will best friends forever!!!!

In his foster home, Cody is doing wonderfully. He enjoys exploring at his own pace, soaking up sunny naps, and settling into a comfortable routine. Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting. Charlie was abandoned with another dog on the side of a rural Alabama highway in August 2024. That's how losers unload their responsibilities on society. We didn't have an open foster home and couldn't leave them there so we rescued the dogs and took them to the vet for medical and boarding. Charlie spent 7 weeks at the clinic, then he moved to a foster home in October and he's still there waiting on you! Charlie is estimated 3-4 years old and he is medium size at 55 pounds. He eats 2 cups of food and a few biscuits each day. Charlie lives in a home with a senior couple and 6-8 adults dogs at most times. He's perfectly crate trained and doesn't bother anything in the house when not crated. Charlie enjoys time outside in the yard running the fence with deer and chasing the other dogs in the yard. He has no resource or behavioral issues. He shares antlers and toys. He will bark at any cats he sees in the yard. Charlie is a good boy eager to have a meaningful relationship with his person! Charlie does have a one inch wide scar around most of his neck. A bandanna would look great on him! So many good dogs like Charlie are chained and neglected in the south. He doesn't remember those times. He had no other marks or scars, just his neck. All of our dogs live in Alabama foster homes and transport to New England when they are adopted. If you are approved to adopt one of our dogs, you will speak to the foster family and you can request FaceTime, video or more pictures once your application is approved. This method of long distance adoption works for hundreds of pets every year! We have been sending Dogs and cats to homes for 15 years and strive the make the adoption process as smooth as possible. Charlie is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, multiple dewormings, heartworm negative, and he receives monthly parasite prevention. He comes with his records. We pay a transporter for every dog we send to a New England home. We do not own the van or service. Every dog sees a veterinarian before they leave for a health check and health certificate, which also comes with a cost. These costs are built into the total fee. Total adoption fee and investment for this nice dog is discounted $395.00 and includes the transport and health certificate from the vet. $200 adoption fee $195 transport health certificate Serious adopters should fill out the application online and someone will get back to you ASAP. We prefer a vet reference, current or previous, to adopt a puppy. Please call your vet to release information on your account. Story
Montana found herself at the shelter as part of a cruelty case in March of 2023. She was seized from her former owner and was patiently waiting until August of 2024, when we got the okay for her be adoptable! Montana is very smart, and quick to learn new cues. This adorable girl loves to run, chase down toys, and is working hard on her fetch skills. Montana just loves to play, especially keep away! She's a runner, and would do great in a home with a large fenced in yard to allow her to do so. She also loves to snuggle, and will gladly get all up in your business in an attempt to get pats and hugs. She is on the small side of medium, and needs an adults-only home, where she will likely need to be the only pet. Montana can be very timid, especially of new sounds, objects, and even people. This makes walking on leash challenging and something she will need patience and practice with. Everyday Montana makes new strides in her training and we couldn't be more proud of her! She comes with a Take My Lead grant for FREE training through Handsome Dan's Rescue, which is a mandatory part of her adoption to ensure her forever home is committed to working on her behaviors and to help Montana transition into her new home. Montana has been having frequent sleep overs at a wonderful foster's home where she is learning how to live the good life in a house, and she is more than ready to find her forever home with a couch to call her own!
