Story
If you would like to apply to take CANELA DIMONE/courtesy post home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Canela Simone is a female spayed Boxer/Pitty Mix. Her doctor estimated her birthday as 3/2021 based on her size and dentition at her first few appointments. She currently lives in Western Massachusetts as a single pup with me. She is good with people, although sometimes it can take her a moment to warm up to groups that include tall men. She is very excitable when she meets new people and can forget her manners and try to jump up. She is very responsive to "four on the floor"/redirection with treats. She loves spending time with the neighbors' kids (ranging in age from 3 - 10), and does better with not jumping when around smaller humans. She is very partial to face kisses. She has not been around very many cats. The few cats she's spent time with have been for brief periods and she is too interested in them. She acts the same way with stray cats as she does with squirrels and birds, so I do not and would not trust her to live with cats. She has spent a lot of time around other dogs and enjoys them. Generally, she gets along better with male dogs that are her age and younger. She's been attacked at the dog park by two separate female dogs. So, we no longer go to the dog park and she no longer spends time with female dogs (with exceptions for female dogs with owners that I know well). When she is around male dogs she does well and is incredibly playful. She is very rambunctious and likes to roughhouse, so she would do well either as an only dog with a select group of friends or in a house with another young dog that really likes to play. I added two pictures with some of her dog friends. Canela has a few chronic illnesses (skin allergies, IBD, an immune disorder) that are being well managed by her primary vet and her internal medicine specialist. She's very much a happy, healthy girl - as long as she takes her meds and eats her prescription diet. If she eats too many foods/treats that aren't prescribed, she'll have GI issues. If she stops her meds, she'll deal with skin itching and irritation. Additionally, without her meds she'll have episodes of high fevers and lethargy. She hasn't had a full episode in almost 2 years, since she started taking Prednisone. Her only mini episode happened when we tried to taper her down to see if she could handle a lower dose; she could not. She was back to normal within hours of resuming her normal dose and she's been just fine since. She gets her oral medications mixed directly into her food (and eats with no complaints). She also receives one subcutaneous injection a week (this is done at home while she's eating, and she's perfect for it).

Story
* Special Needs Pup* Meet Boo, an adorable 10-month-old Terrier/Boxer mix who is eagerly searching for his forever home! 😍With a sweet and funny personality, Boo is sure to bring endless joy and laughter into your life. Although Boo is deaf, this does not dampen his vibrant spirit; in fact, it only adds to his charm and resilience. He approaches life with a playful attitude, proving that nothing can hold him back. Boo communicates in his own unique ways, showcasing his goofy nature and ability to connect with those around him. He loves to engage with his environment, whether he’s chasing after toys, exploring new places, or curling up for some cozy cuddle time. His affectionate disposition makes him a fantastic companion who thrives on human interaction and companionship. Due to some separation anxiety, Boo would do best in a home where someone works remotely or spends a significant amount of time at home. This arrangement would allow him to receive the love and attention he craves. While he's not a fan of being crated, Boo is proudly house trained, making him an easy addition to any household. Boo is incredibly adaptable and gets along wonderfully with kids, cats, and other dogs, making him an ideal fit for families or anyone looking for a loving furry friend. His playful antics and loving nature create a warm atmosphere, ensuring that your home is filled with joy. Boo is searching for a loving family that will embrace him and help him flourish. He is neutered, microchipped, and UTD on vaccinations. If you’re ready to welcome a spirited and charming companion into your life, Boo could be the perfect match for you! Story
Meet Mowma, the PupStars Mom (Cody still looking for his forever home who's finally ready for her forever home! Mowma arrived at Rhode Home Rescue last summer with her adorable litter, lovingly dubbed The Pupstars. She raised her pups with patience and devotion (seriously, she was the best mom), and now that they’ve all found their homes, it’s her turn to shine. After some well-deserved rest, recovery, and a spay (no more babies for this momma!), Mowma is ready to find her forever family. She's fully house-trained, loves daily walks, and can't resist a good game of fetch or chasing her beloved Jolly Egg around the yard. When the weather’s warm, you’ll find her splashing in the hose or playing in any water she can find. Mowma is a one-dog household kind of gal—she loves her humans so deeply, she doesn’t like to share them with other dogs. She’s wonderful with older kids and adults who give her a little time to settle in and show her true self. Want to win her heart? Treats and toys are the way to go. Toss her a ball, offer a few snacks, and you’ll have a loyal best friend for life. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Montana found herself at the shelter as part of a cruelty case in March of 2023. She was seized from her former owner and was patiently waiting until August of 2024, when we got the okay for her be adoptable! Montana is very smart, and quick to learn new cues. This adorable girl loves to run, chase down toys, and is working hard on her fetch skills. Montana just loves to play, especially keep away! She's a runner, and would do great in a home with a large fenced in yard to allow her to do so. She also loves to snuggle, and will gladly get all up in your business in an attempt to get pats and hugs. She is on the small side of medium, and needs an adults-only home, where she will likely need to be the only pet. Montana can be very timid, especially of new sounds, objects, and even people. This makes walking on leash challenging and something she will need patience and practice with. Everyday Montana makes new strides in her training and we couldn't be more proud of her! She comes with a Take My Lead grant for FREE training through Handsome Dan's Rescue, which is a mandatory part of her adoption to ensure her forever home is committed to working on her behaviors and to help Montana transition into her new home. Montana has been having frequent sleep overs at a wonderful foster's home where she is learning how to live the good life in a house, and she is more than ready to find her forever home with a couch to call her own!

Story
Manny is truly a one of a kind dude. With a care free spirit and an absolute LOVE for toy balls, he captures the hearts of all who meet him. His grumbly pitty noises are often accompanied by not one, but two tennis balls in his mouth and a wagging tail. Even on his walks Manny has his toy balls! A home with lots of balls isn't a want for this boy, it's a necessity! In his own way Manny can be an affectionate guy, sometimes giving kisses, bringing you his tennis balls, and asking for scratches. Have we mentioned he really likes toy balls? A home with no other pets, and teens + would be the best fit for this short stack. Those interested in Manny are encouraged to reach out to learn more about what makes this guy so special! If you are interested in applying for Manny, please fill out an adoption application! The application can be found on our website: https://www.rispca.org/adoptable-dogs
