Story
6/30/2026Bardlow is an approximately 10-week-old Boxer puppy who currently weighs about 11 pounds. He may be little now, but he's already packed full of personality!Bardlow and his littermates got off to a rough start when their canine momma couldn't care for them in the shelter. Thankfully, they were taken into foster care where they were bottle-fed, showered with love, and given everything they needed to thrive. Thanks to that dedicated care, Bardlow has grown into a happy, healthy puppy who is ready to find a family of his own. This handsome boy is sweet, funny, playful, and incredibly affectionate. While he's a little more laid back than his brother, he still has plenty of puppy energy and is always ready for a game of tug-of-war or a romp around the yard. If treats are involved, even better! Bardlow is highly food-motivated, which should make training both fun and rewarding.Bardlow is also a puppy who appreciates his routine. One of his favorite parts of the day is enjoying a quiet morning cuddle on the chair with his foster before heading outside to patrol the yard in search of the perfect stick. He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home and absolutely lights up when his bigger foster sisters give him attention. His whole body starts wiggling with excitement, and it's impossible not to smile.Like all puppies, Bardlow will need continued training, socialization, and plenty of love as he grows. If you're looking for a happy, goofy best friend with a sweet nature, a playful spirit, and an adorable full-body wiggle, Bardlow is ready to steal your heart. All known information about the animal is listed above. This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact. PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Stormy!Stormy is a healthy, beautiful 2-year-old Boxer mix with a big personality, a lot of love, and the most enthusiasm.Despite a rough start in life, Stormy has grown far beyond that. She greets each day with joy, optimism, and a tail that never seems to stop wagging. She absolutely loves people and thrives on human companionship. Whether she's joining you for an adventure or curling up beside you on the couch, Stormy is happiest when she's with her favorite humans. As a young Boxer mix, Stormy is full of energy and loves to stay active. She would be an excellent companion for someone who enjoys walking, hiking, training, or other outdoor activities. After she's had a chance to burn off some energy, she's more than happy to settle in for snuggles and affection (and watching movies). Stormy is exceptionally intelligent and eager to learn. She has earned multiple training certificates, successfully completed basic obedience, and has been professionally trained by Dogs by Doug in Connecticut. She knows her skills and does best with a person or family who will continue to reinforce the structure, consistency, and training she has worked so hard to achieve.Stormy is fully house trained, she has not had an accident in over 6 months. She is also crate trained, although she has proven herself trustworthy enough that a crate is generally unnecessary except in special circumstances or when management is needed. While Stormy can be friendly with other dogs, her ideal home is one where she can be the only dog. She loves having her people all to herself and will thrive in a household where she can be the center of attention without the stress of sharing her space with another pet.Stormy is looking for a dedicated adopter who has the time and commitment to continue her training, work with her regularly, and provide the daily exercise and mental stimulation she desperately needs. She is not a couch-potato dog and will flourish with an active person or family who can give her consistent outlets for her energy and intelligence. In return, Stormy will reward her family with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and plenty of laughter. She is a smart, loving, and resilient dog who is ready to leave her difficult past behind and start the next chapter of her life with a family who understands her needs and appreciates all that she has to offer.Could Stormy be the missing piece in your family? Story
Meet Lumos, a bright and bouncy 1-year-old Boxer mix whose name is as magical as his personality! Weighing in at 45 lbs, Lumos is full of life, love, and goofy charm. This playful pup is a total socialite—he adores other dogs and thrives on playtime, especially games of fetch and tug of war. He’s not just fun—he’s smart too! Lumos already knows several commands like sit, stay, lay, paw, and place, and he’s fully potty trained. Lumos greets everyone like a long-lost friend, bringing enthusiastic energy and a wagging tail wherever he goes. Because of his exuberant spirit (and a bit of jumping), he’d be happiest in a home with older children. Due to his energy levels, he would love a fenced in yard for playing fetch and he would prefer a home without kitties. If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate, and active companion, Lumos might be your perfect match! Lumos is currently being fostered in RI and is available for adoption throughout Northeastern states. *All breed listings are educated guesses and not guaranteed*

Story
At almost 2 years old, Cody has spent his entire life in rescue waiting for the right person to see him for who he really is: a deeply loyal, goofy, affectionate dog with so much love to give. Missing his back leg has never slowed him down for a second. Cody is fully mobile, full of life, and happiest when he’s running after a ball, exploring on walks, or climbing directly into your lap for cuddles. His zoomies are elite, his kisses are endless, and if you sit down near him, there’s a very good chance he’ll decide your lap belongs to him now. Cody is incredibly smart and eager to connect with his people. He already knows sit, down, stay, heel, center, and wait/take it, and he thrives when he has structure, guidance, and someone cheering him on. Cody isn’t the kind of dog who shines in loud adoption events or chaotic environments. Busy spaces are overwhelming for him, and because of that, he’s often overlooked. But once he feels safe and connected, his personality truly comes to life. He’s looking for a calm, lower-traffic home where he can be the center of someone’s world. Cody would do best as the only pet in the home and would thrive with someone who appreciates a loyal companion and understands that the best relationships sometimes take a little time and trust to build. Cody may not be the right fit for every home — but for the right person, he’s the kind of dog who will love you with his whole heart. If you are interested in adopting Cody, please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. Story
Mimi Robinson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    This sweet love bug is ready to steal your heart!  Mimi is an absolute angel—gentle, affectionate, and always ready with kisses for anyone who'll take them (the cats included, though one of them isn't quite as into it as she is!).  She's a little meaty hambone with a tail that never stops wagging.  She's a true velcro dog who thrives on attention and will happily follow you from room to room, just to be near you.  She loves to play, but she's just as happy snoozing beside you on the couch. Mimi is settling in beautifully—sleeping through the night in her crate, with just a few sad cries before settling down, and quickly calming when crated during the day too.  She's doing wonderfully with other animals: she's submissive with the resident dogs and has been happily trading toys back and forth with one of her foster siblings.  House training is going great, with only one accident so far.  She comes when called and walks nicely on leash.  She's currently learning sit and stay. Mimi is a LOVE—the kind of dog who slots right into family life. Whoever adopts this girl is going to be so lucky! If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Capone Provac is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! **Due to clinic delays: this puppy will be available for adoption with the collection of an additional $100 spay/neuter voucher deposit, which will be refunded upon receipt of successful procedure at our partnering clinic.   Capone is a sweet, spirited pup with lots of personality and so much potential. He’s already showing some really solid habits for a young puppy — he sleeps soundly through the night and does great when going outside. He's been working hard on potty training and almost there.  He also does well in his crate and can settle comfortably when needed. Like many young dogs, he’s still learning his manners. He can be very mouthy during play, so he’ll need an adopter committed to consistent training and positive reinforcement to help him develop appropriate boundaries.  He's learning that hands (and clothing!) aren’t chew toys. With other dogs, Capone is enthusiastic — sometimes very enthusiastic. He tends to get right up in other dogs’ faces, jumping, play-biting, and vocalizing as part of his rough-and-tumble play style.  He’s looking for a home that understands puppy behavior and is ready to help him grow. In return, you’ll get a loyal, fun-loving companion ready to take on any adventure with you. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today!
