Story
We may not know Benny's exact breed, but we do know his heart and it 100% cuteness! Benny was found in sweltering Texas heat when he was only 9 weeks old. With the love of his foster Mom, he is blooming into a wonderful companion. He is almost fully potty trained - he can wait about 6-8 hours in his crate at night before needing to go outside. He has lots of puppy energy and loves his rope toy! Like most puppies, he can be a little nippy as he learns appropriate ways to play with his humans so it might be best for him to have a home without little kids. He needs appropriate chew toys in his new home too. Benny is very food motivated and goes crazy for canned puppy food! His foster Mom is working on good behavior training and basic commands like sit, down, and come. He shows interest in wanting to play with other dogs but has not been introduced to cats yet. Benny is a confident tyke that loves to explore! If you are interested in providing Benny with an enriching, loving forever home, please contact us and give him a new leash on life!To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

Story
Introducing Marlo, a delightful and exuberant pup who thrives on love and playtime. This spirited fellow is bound to bring joy to your life with his infectious happy-go-lucky nature. Marlo revels in the company of other lively dogs and enjoys frolicking in playgroups, where he can let loose and have a blast.Marlo's journey hasn't been without its challenges; he was discovered tied to a tree before finding refuge in the compassionate arms of AAR. In his pursuit of becoming the best version of himself, Marlo received training at The Mannered Mutt, where he learned essential manners and skills. Now, Marlo is seeking a devoted family who can shower him with the attention, exercise, and affection he craves. His ideal home will be one where his training is reinforced, ensuring he continues to grow into a well-mannered and obedient companion. While Marlo has grappled with bouts of exuberance and reactivity during his time in the shelter, we believe that a calm and structured environment, filled with patience and love, will help him blossom into an extraordinary lifelong friend. It's recommended that Marlo find a home without children under the age of 12.Are you ready to open your heart and home to Marlo? Get ready for a lifetime of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments with this lovable pup. Come meet Marlo today!Est. DOB: 4/6/2250 lbs.AAR does not transport for adoption.

Story
Roxy is a very loving 3 year old boxer mix. She was an emotional support dog who’s owner passed. We adopted her to be a companion for our other outside dog. She craves laps, hugs and car rides but is also extremely active and energetic. She needs a home with more human contact than we can offer. We have her on an anxiety prescription to help her stay calm, but believe if she was an inside dog it would help her be more balanced. We have a big yard so she is used to running all day and has not had any crate training. The ideal home for her would be space and time to run and play - but then come inside to cuddle. Human interaction is what she was born for, she doesn’t like being without people.
