History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: My name is Nyx (pronounced Nix). I also go by Nixy (Nix-eeeeee) But enough about how to say my name.... HI!!! Nice to meet cha'!!! I'm a Texas gal by origin, but landing up here in the Northland hasn't been a big bother. I kinda like the snow to be honest. Its fun to play in & on. My foster parents tell me I'm adapting real fast. Guess that's a good thing? They tell me I'm very good in my crate. I do keep it clean and dry. I know I'm supposed to do my business outside. Sometimes my tells aren't great, but they catch them and we go out. No accidents so far. They also tell me I walk pretty good on a leash for being 4+ months. I just love to go where ever they go. Being on a leash isn't too much of a bother at all. They tell me I have a healthy appetite. Mmmmmm, yes, I love food, mine and everyone else's. I'm learning whats mine and what isn't. That includes, food, toys, chew bones, and dog beds. Some days I get it, some days I can't help myself....WHY ISN’T EVERYTHING MINE??? My foster hooo-man parents and foster K9 brother & sister are helping me figure things out. I hear its "a process, but I'm learning" YEAH ME!!!! It says I'm a "Boxer mix"... Maybe? Only a DNA test knows for certain. Foster Mom & Dad and others are saying Anatolian Shepherd?? Great Pyrenees? Saint Bernard? Lord only knows?? I'm 4+ months old and 29+lbs... Foster Dad says even tho I'm a skinny wiggle-butt, I'm a Big Girl and going to get nothing but bigger. That's why I LOVE food, I have some missed meals to make up for!!! If I'm not eating, playing, or crash napping, I love to snuggle... if the TV is on, even better. I love to watch TV, and fish tanks are fun too!! Can I snuggle or romp with you?? Can't wait to meet you!!!!

All cats and dogs adopted from the Chequamegon Humane Association are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Dogs are tested for heartworm. A minimum adoption fee of $185 is required for adult dogs, puppy adoption fees start $300, and dogs over the age of 10 are $100. Adult cat adoption fees are $85, kittens under one year are $135, and cats over the age of 10 are $50.

Colter is a high energy, fun loving guy who is down for any adventure, hike or a run any day! Cotler loves going for car rides, walking, running, and playing with his dog and human friends. He is also content hanging out in his kennel and enjoing a chew toy while his humans go away from the house without him. Colter would do best in an active home with with no cats and no small dogs. He loves his big boxer brother and loves to play and snugle with him. He also loves to hang out at night on the couch and chill while the humans enjoy a show. He loves doing anything to please his humans, has learned many commands, and is excited to learn more. He would do great in a home with a fenced in back yard. He gets the zoomies and loves to greet everyone walking and driving by, so front yard time has to be supervised on a leash. Colter knows no, ok go, sit, paw, shake, lay down, wait, drop it, no bark and night-night (among others).
