Breaking News: Local Freckled Boy Steals Hearts, Demands Snacks Hi. Hello. Yes. It’s me. Kirby. 4-year-old, 43-lb orange & white Brittany. Freckles included at no extra charge. I am currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Love Provider / Snack Distributor / Professional Belly Rub Technician. At first I may act like a polite little introvert… you know, the whole “I must evaluate you for snack-worthiness” thing. But once you pass inspection? Congratulations. You now own a happy, wiggly, snuggly shadow with a tail that operates at helicopter speed. I just want to know the rules, learn your routine, and then supervise your life decisions from a comfy spot nearby. I love walks. I love outside time. I love making dog friends. I also love pretending I did a full day’s work after doing absolutely nothing. Important Kirby Facts (very scientific): ✨ Kennel superstar — I keep my room cleaner than most college students ✨ I am potty, crate trained, neutered, and utd on all vaccines ✨ Rawhides, toys & cookies are my emotional support system ✨ Belly rubs activate turbo cuddle mode ✨ I don’t fence fight… I prefer to win arguments with charm ✨ Snuggling is not optional. It is a lifestyle. ✨ I am 78% freckles, 20% love, 2% dramatic sighs My Dream Life Includes: A fenced yard for zoomie research & development Toys to strategically relocate around the house Treats. Let’s stay focused on what matters. A human who appreciates a loyal, slightly ridiculous best friend If you’ve been thinking, “My life needs more freckles, comedy, and unconditional love”… Wow. Story
Buddy is a one-year-old, handsome fellow. He is part Brittany, part Basset Hound. Buddy had a rough start in life, growing up with 6 of his littermates in the same house after his owner passed away. He was bullied quite a lot and didn't get much human attention. He is making up for that now. He LOVES being with one attentive person. He does not like being left alone and will be by your side every moment that he can. He is very smart and has learned not to jump up on people. He has learned to sit, give a paw, give another paw, and lie down, all within about a month. So the more time you spend with him, the more he will learn.   He does not like being kenneled and will whine loudly if confined. This will need to be worked on.  Buddy enjoys sleeping with his humans at bedtime and will lie quietly on the bed throughout the night. Buddy will need someone who can spend a lot of time with him, and he will need to be crated when left alone. He tends to be very mouthy and will try to investigate and chew on most things, so it’s important to puppy-proof your home. He is also learning to fetch and loves watching and chasing birds. With those long legs, fortunately, he does not attempt to jump fences! Buddy's adoption fee is $400  to offset the cost of vetting and to help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Virginia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad.  For more information, please contact Leslie Trenta @  leslietrentadesigns.com      March 24, 2026, 11:52 am

Story
Everyone deserves a second chance… and that’s exactly how Chance got his name.  Chance is approximately 9-year-old Brittany who was found abandoned in a ditch during the Kentucky snowstorm. He was in rough shape and very sick! He only weighed 22 pounds and malnourished.   Since he has been who has taken the best care of this little man, Chance has gained his weight back, is healthy and she has taught him what it means to live inside with a comfy bed, food and a ton of love!! Once he was stabilized and on the road to recovery, he has been neutered, had an extensive dental with 22 teeth removed due to lack of nutrition and neglect. He only has his 4 canines but that does not stop him from eating and taking treats. He now weighs a healthy 30 pounds. He has had X rays from head to toe and an echocardiogram. He has a slight vision impairment. He is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Chance is a gentle, sweet soul who loves being close to his people. Once he feels safe, he enjoys curling up beside you soaking up affection. He is adjusting to living inside and gains confidence every day. He is crate trained and doing very well with house training. He is only having a few accidents but continues to improve each day. He has learned the doggy door. Chance does well with cats and gets along nicely with other dogs. Chance would do best in a calm home with no young children, where he can feel safe and relaxed. Due to unknown old leg injuries that have healed he needs to be in a home that has very few steps to make it easier for him to move around. He needs a fenced yard so that he can stroll and sniff and do his business. He is not a candidate for an invisible fence. A quiet, laid-back low activity home would be ideal for him. He has learned to play with toys; he will go over to the toy basket and pick one out and quietly walk away with it not drawing attention to himself. One thing we’ve noticed about Chance is that he’s a very quiet boy, he rarely barks. Instead, he has the cutest little way of giving a gentle growl when he wants your attention, which just adds to his unique personality. Sadly, not knowing his background other than his body tells the story he has lived a very hard life. It is the little things watching him enjoy as he continues learning how to just be a dog… with love to give!! He is such a sweet boy!! After everything he’s been through, Chance is ready for the best chapter of his life — a patient family who will give him the love and security he’s always deserved. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion with a heart of gold, Chance might just be your perfect match. Chance is located in Kentucky. His adoption fee is 350.00 and NBRAN will transport up to 1400 miles. if you have any interest in adopting Chance please email the state coordinators:  Neca neca227@gmail.com , Karlie karliebreana@gmail.com or Amy amypgay@gmail.com if you have any questions. If you have not applied yet, please go to nbran.org to complete an application and your state coordinator will contact you.March 24, 2026, 11:52 am

Story
Maple is a 2.5-year-old French Brittany who packs a whole lot of charm into her perfect 25-pound frame. Her foster family lovingly calls her “Meatball,” and honestly…it fits. She’s adorable, goofy, snuggly, and absolutely devoted to her people. Maple LOVES car rides, plush toys, and curling up next to you for belly rubs. She didn’t get much freedom or enrichment in her early life and likely spent most of her time in a kennel, so she came to us needing a refresher on potty training and some basic house habits. She’s made steady progress but still needs a patient family willing to keep her routine consistent. She can be a bit curious and may check out items that aren’t technically “hers,” so keeping tempting things out of reach and offering plenty of dog-safe toys will set her up for success. Maple does well in her kennel when her people are out of the house. She may give a little protest bark at first (she just has to make sure you know she has notes), but she settles down and rests quietly once she realizes she’s safe. Maple is not a dog that can live with or closely interact with other dogs. Through training, she has made progress in calmly seeing dogs at a distance with positive reinforcement, but pushing those interactions too quickly can cause anxiety for her. For her comfort and safety, she must be an only dog, and a fenced-in yard (ideally privacy fenced) would suit her best so she can explore and enjoy the outdoors stress-free. She’s playful, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. Maple has mastered “sit", and is working on more tricks, but needs a little patience since she isn’t very food motivated. Maple is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Now she’s just waiting for a family who sees how special she is and can give her the structure, love, and dog-free home she deserves. Maple is currently in foster care in Wisconsin and has an adoption donation fee of $400.  If you are interested in adopting her and have been approved to adopt, let your state coordinator know you are interested in her.  If you haven’t yet done so, please go to: https://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application to fill out an application.  Your state coordinator will contact you and take you through the approval process.  If your application looks like a possible fit for her, your coordinator will contact Maple’s coordinator and continue the screening process. Maple’s state coordinator is Hallie Barbara. She can be reached at Minnesotabrittany@gmail.com for questions or inquires.   Thank you for considering this sweet girl.  March 7, 2026, 3:26 pm

Story
Hello world… my name is Forest! I am the sweetest 2.6-month-old baby boy you will ever meet. I am a beautiful white and orange Brittany / Setter mix, and I weigh 23.4 lbs of pure puppy love. I even have a tail that helps me wag my whole body when I’m happy… which is pretty much all the time! I LOVE people, I LOVE dogs, and I REALLY LOVE cuddles. If there is a lap nearby, I will find it. If there is a friend to play with, I will make them my best buddy. My favorite things include snuggling, following you around, giving sweet puppy kisses, and being told I’m a good boy (because I try very hard to be one!). I am just a baby, so I am learning all the important puppy things like manners, routines, and how to grow into the most wonderful companion. What I need most is a loving family who will guide me, adore me, and let me be part of their everyday adventures. If you are looking for a darling, gentle, happy little heart to grow up with your family, I just might be your perfect boy. Love, wiggles, and tiny puppy snuggles, Forest The adoption fee for KS/Forest, who lives in Topeka, KS is $425 ($350 adoption fee plus a $75  refundable neuter deposit upon verification of neuter),  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making Forest part of your family, please complete the online application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Please let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  Also, please email the state coordinator of KS/Forest-Melinde Waddle @ macgammy@gmail.com  Once approved by your state coordinator, I will setup talking to the foster of Forest. Story
Zazu is a sweet, energetic dog. He’s also a great cuddler! He’s a smart dog and a good listener. He has an e-collar and has had professional training. He’s gotten along with any other dogs he’s met. He plays a little too rough with older cats. I think he would do best in a house with older children (6+). He has a kennel, e-collar, normal collar, leash, raised bed, and toys. He is microchipped and it can be transferred to a new owner.

Story
Meet Ripley! Ripley is an approximately 7 year-old female German Shorthaired Pointer mix who is now looking for a loving forever home. She was found running loose on Anna Cade Drive on 3/7/26 and, sadly, no one came forward to reclaim her. Now Ripley is ready for a fresh start with a family who will cherish her in her golden years. Ripley is a gentle, calm, and incredibly sweet girl who has quickly won the hearts of the shelter staff. She enjoys meeting new people and happily accepts pets and attention from anyone willing to share a little love. She also walks nicely on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for relaxed strolls and quiet time with her people. Because Ripley is still new to the shelter, we are still learning how she does with other dogs. If you currently have a dog at home, a meet and greet will be required prior to adoption to ensure everyone gets along well. Ripley's adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, microchipped, current on her rabies vaccination, and boosters are to date. She did test positive for heartworms but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, her treatment is sponsored. If you have any questions or concerns about Ripley's heartworm status, please feel free to ask RAC staff. If you're ready to give this sweet girl the loving home she deserves, please submit an adoption application here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Ripley may have a little silver on her muzzle, but her heart is full of love and ready for her next chapter.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX.
