Story
Rocky is a 4 year old pit bull terrier. He was on his last day at the animal shelter before euthanasia. He was pulled out last minute to buy him time in hopes of finding a new home for him. He needs and experienced owner as he has high stress from being in the shelter for too long. Preferably he'd need a lot of space and he can be stressed, also has some separation anxiety. Not sure if he'd get along with any other animals. He's highly energetic and comfortable with other people. He's up to date with his rabies vaccine.

Story
Good Afternoon, my name is Russell and I'm a Wilderness Explorer in Tribe 54, Sweat lodge 12. Are you in need of a new puppy today? I'm an 8-month-old, Bull Terrier mix that will possibly be between 70 to 80lbs as an adult. I'm a happy go lucky, energetic, and playful guy. My friends here at PHS say that I'm super affectionate when cuddling and a full body player with equal parts goofball energy. I think I would do best in an active home with a family that is familiar with Bull Terriers or large breed dogs like me. If there are kids or dogs, they should be comfortable with my rough and tumble play sessions! My future family should be prepared to teach me all the rules but also be patient and loving enough to give me space to learn. I promise I'm a total sweetheart; I just have to get my wiggles out first! If you are looking for puppy kisses and wiggly tails, I can deliver! Russell ID# A0978323 I recently went on a fieldtrip with a PHS volunteer! Here's how I did: Russell is so sweet and friendly. After some coaxing, he was a great car passenger. I went straight to my house and walk from there since it's a quieter neighborhood. He was a little hesitant about going into our house but decided to be brave and check it out! He was very good on our walk. He checks in with his handler frequently and likes being a good boy. We went to the big field at the school near my house and hung out for a while. While he was curious about his surroundings, he was also very focused on me and interacting with me. I had him on a long line, and he was super good! We played a little bit of fetch with the ball and then just sat while he chewed the ball. We walked back to my house, and he investigated all the things. He is pretty good in nosework, so we played some 'find it'. He did great. He went into the crate several times and tolerated me closing the door. He wasn't scared or anxious. He sat on the couch with me for a bit. He's a very sweet, affectionate guy. Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Meet Potato. She's seven years old, strikingly pretty, and fully aware of it. Pink is her color — she insists — and she turns heads wherever she goes.Potato arrived at the shelter around the time of the L.A. fires, history unknown. What is known: she's in excellent health, almost entirely deaf, and completely unbothered by it. She navigates the world on her own terms, thank you very much. Those terms include: drowsy naps, car rides, and being velcroed to her favorite person at all times. She's crate-trained, a lovely walking companion, and the kind of dog who follows you from room to room just to be near you. She would thrive with someone who works from home or is retired — someone who appreciates a snuggly, low-key shadow with a little bit of sass. One firm request: Potato needs a one-dog household. She's perfectly friendly with other dogs out in the world, but she has no interest in sharing her home with them. She's not asking for much. Just everything.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog M:5Egg – Silly, Affectionate, and Full of Charm Egg is a Bull Terrier mix just over 2 years old, weighing about 45 pounds. With his goofy personality and signature “talking” grunts, he’s a fun and engaging companion who loves both people and treats. Engaged walking buddy: Egg may pull moderately but he checks in often and will sit when asked. Smart and food motivated: He also excels at catching treats mid-air, and is making great progress at “find it” and gentle treat-taking. Affectionate and social: Egg enjoys greeting people and likes to stay close, leaning in happily for pets and scratches. Signature grunts: Egg’s adorable “talking” grunts never fail to amuse and add to his unique charm. Dog awareness: He may show interest and pull toward other dogs, but is easily redirected with guidance. Egg would do well with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with dog friends.         View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Claudia San Martín (@dogtownadopts) May 10, 2026, 11:44 am

Story
Zoé is a pure breed English Bulldog that loves company, she is the cutest dog. My wife got her since she was a puppy around 5 months of age and today she’s almost 12 years old. We brought her from Mexico to California and she has all her vaccines. She is reactive to other dogs and people that approach from behind, but I wouldn’t say she’s and agressive dog. We are looking for someone who can give her the attention she needs since we have a 2yo daughter and we can’t be with her as we used to.
