Story
Good afternoon, my name is Russell and I'm a Wilderness Explorer. Are you in need of a new buddy today? I'm a 1-year-old, Bull Terrier mix and I weigh around 62 pounds. I'm a happy go lucky, energetic, and playful guy. My friends here at PHS say that I'm super affectionate when cuddling and a full body player with equal parts goofball energy. If you are looking for a happy go lucky dude that loves nothing more than running, playing with soft toys and frolicking in the kiddie pool here at the shelter then look no further! I'm a total sweetheart; I just have to get my wiggles out first! If you are looking for puppy kisses and wiggly tails, I can deliver! Russell ID# A0978323 I recently went on a sleepover! Here's how I did: Russell was such a good boy during his sleepover with us! On the drive home, he jumped into the car after some encouragement, though he was a bit adorably clumsy. He seemed nervous at first but was being a brave boy. On our way back the next day, he did great in the car! He was able to relax more and even laid down!  In the house the first day/afternoon, he was a little restless. He wanted to be close to us the entire time and had a bit of a hard time settling in at first but he played well with some chew toys. The day after he was so much more relaxed and seemed more at ease! He's not quite potty trained yet but didn't have any accidents while he was with us! We took him out pretty often and tried to read his body language to see if he had to go. At night, he slept a couple of hours in his crate, as well as a couple of hours in bed with us. He wants to be close to people at all times. When he went in his crate, he'd rather be with us, but didn't whine or try to get out. He would relax after a couple of minutes and take a nap.  Overall, Russell was a sweet, affectionate and goofy house guest! Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around! To check on an animal's adoption status, please call 650-340-7022 during normal business hours to speak with an adoption counselor. Emails will be returned as soon as possible, but please allow up to 48 hours during busy adoption periods like weekends.August 17, 2026, 9:42 pm

Story
Cleo's owner threatened to starve her and her puppies to death when he left them at a high kill shelter. She is currently in foster care and doing wonderfully. Good with other dogs - with proper introduction and kids. We suggest a family with older dog-respective children although she has been around toddlers. runs as fast as a bullet. She loves tossing her stuffies 🧸 in the air. She also loves to just chill on the couch 🛋️ and be with her people. Cleo deserves a home where she can be her silly 🙃 self. She needs a home with a family that will include her in what they do. She’s fabulous in the car 🚗 and would love to go on camping 🏕️ trips, trips to the park or beach. Please get in touch with Reunion Rescue and learn about our holistic program and nutrition. Ask about our foster to adopt process.

Story
How it started: Mack is a loyal and loving little dude who just wanted a chance to love you and snuggle with you and play ball and be there wagging his tail when you get home from work. He was picked up in LA on the street clearly had been someone’s pet and got lost, but he wasn’t tagged so he ended up in a shelter but now he wants a family again. Neutered, vexed, and full of love. More on Mack: Mack is a phenomenal dog. He came from California and fits in anywhere with proof. Mack actually comes with a resume. Having spent time on a couple of dog facilities, he is so chill and so friendly with any and everyone, he's always an instant favorite. Mack is the dog you want to raise your kids with. He is the "Old Yeller" of our day and age, a loyal and loving companion to create memories with. A little bit about Mack - he's great GREAT on the leash! Loves nature walks and if there's water, all the better. Mack is a totally social dog, great with other dogs and engaging as a companion. He can be playful and zero down to chillin' on the couch - a great combo! He is an extremely affectionate and loving soul looking for that person or family to give his love to. And he has lots of love to give! Give us a call today and find out more about sweet Mack who we all love so much. Ask about the Reunion Rescue holistic support plan, which comes with every dog and our foster-to-adopt program.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:7Bennie is a 2-year-old, 46-pound pittie mix who's really come into his own. Once a little unsure, he now happily plays fetch and flops over for full-body wiggles. On field trips, Bennie enjoys running on the beach, exploring trails, and greeting people with a wagging tail. He walks nicely on leash, often checking over his shoulder to make sure you're still with him. Squirrels definitely bring out his bouncy side, but he responds well to hand signals for "sit," and is a quick learner when treats are involved. After an adventure, he's happy to nap in the car. Bennie may be a little hard of hearing. Our volunteer groomer reported he startles easily, but recovers quickly with a little reassurance. Otherwise, this sweet and cuddly guy was wonderful for his bath and nail trim. While Bennie has been social and relaxed meeting other dogs, he had a disagreement during a playgroup session and might be best as the only dog in his future home. That way he can focus on what he loves most: exploring with his people, chasing tennis balls, and claiming a well-earned spot in your lap.           View this post on Instagram                        August 18, 2026, 2:08 am

Story
Meet 3+ year old Kiwi!  FOSTER TO ADOPT Kiwi is a sweet, affectionate bully mix with a playful streak and a heart full of love for her people. Tennis balls are the pinnacle of canine joy as far as she's concerned, and she'll happily fetch one for you (though "drop it" is still under negotiation). When she's not playing, she's nuzzling up close for quality cuddle time. She's adjusting beautifully to indoor life. She's figured out the doggie door for potty breaks, isn't destructive around the house, and enjoys her growing collection of plush toys, chews, and food puzzles. She shares her treasures without fuss and settles nicely in a crate when someone's home. A few things she's still working on:  resisting the urge to attempt a crate escape when left alone, and accepting that snacks left on counters are not, in fact, generous offerings from the universe. Counter surfing is her sport of choice, so kitchen vigilance is a must. Kiwi is a reliable alert barker, letting you know about doors and footsteps like a small furry doorbell. Out in the world, she's friendly with people and other dogs, loves her car rides, and is wonderful on beach and trail adventures. If you're looking for a loving, playful companion who's eager to learn new and useful life skills through force-free and positive reinforcement training methods, then she's ready to give you her whole heart.  if you're interested to meet Kiwi,  please help us learn more about you and your household by filling out our online application www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNow .. Story
Rodolfo is a very sweet, affectionate and playful dog that loves attention. He loves to give hugs to people and play outside with other dogs. He is full of energy with a happy-go-lucky personality. He is also very smart and loyal. Rodolfo does not have any health issues and all of vaccines are current. He is also neutered, microchipped, and crate-trained. The ideal home for Rodolfo would be a place where there is lots of room to run and play. He would be also great on a farm as a herding dog.
