Story
This is Harper and she is a green flag of good decisions! Her slightly pouty little overbite, bright, thoughtful eyes and amazingly upbeat, well-balanced nature has us all collectively smitten. She’s estimated to be about 6 months old, currently weighs 35 lbs, and looks like she may have a sprinkle of bull terrier in her genes, mostly in that darling nose and the tiniest toothy smirk. As always, rescue rules apply so breed and birthday are our best guess. What isn’t a guess? Harper is the kind of puppy people quietly hope for. The easy one. The golden one. The “how did we get so lucky?” one. Want to see this honey-hearted girl in motion? Head to YouTube and then come right back to read about the sweetness behind the smile. https://youtu.be/uLqqWBKFy0o Harper lives by a simple philosophy: be joyful, be gentle, be ready. And she nails it. She has been fostered in a home where she was described as “perfect” and “such an easy addition.” House trained, crate trained, calm in routine, and she knows when it’s playtime and when it’s couch-time. That kind of off-switch at six months old? Unicorn of a chef’s kiss. In play groups, Harper shines! She’s so even-tempered and socially savvy that she has yet to meet a set of dogs or social scene she cannot navigate perfectly. She greets with that classic puppy bounce, a little slappy-happy enthusiasm on leash and off, but she’s never overwhelming. Other dogs tolerate her beautifully, and when they correct her, she takes it with grace and adjusts. No drama. No ego. Just, “Got it, friend.” We were especially impressed with her confidence and ability to be respected when she met our very playful, large great dane who plays physically and doesn’t waste a moment of time. She met him with a playful confidence he immediately respected and she help her own beautifully! When she had her fill and needed a break she was perfectly happy to pull away to go lay down in the shade for a break. Needless to say, we are all impressed with everything about her! She doesn’t pester. She doesn’t obsess. She can wander off to sniff, explore, and then circle back in like a polite little social butterfly. Inside the home, she coexists beautifully, like she’s been doing it forever. She shared space with our house cat Biggie, played when he was interested, and when he decided he was done and hopped up to nap, she respected it immediately. No chasing. No pestering. Just settled down and hung out with her people instead. Apartment? She’d do fine. Busy home with kids? Absolutely. Older couple looking for a companion? Perfect match. First-time dog owners? She’s the confidence booster you didn’t know you needed.Though she may convince you dogs are easy and you need more. We take no blame if this happens but we will be here to help. Harper Honeybee Halo is that rare puppy who feels solid already. Playful without being wild. Sweet without being clingy. Confident without being pushy. She’s ready. If you’ve been waiting for a puppy who feels less like chaos and more like calm sunshine with a bounce… this is your girl! Apply today and welcome Harper hope! She’s going to make someone’s life very, very lovely, hopefully it is you! Apply here! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/691b3fc266288ed5930775c8 Questions? Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation FREE if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Mei is the kind of dog who bounces into your day with pure joy and a big smile that makes everything feel lighter. She is a happy-go-lucky sweetheart with a playful spark, the perfect mix of medium-high energy when the toys come out and soft cuddles when she’s ready to settle in. She is a natural comedian. Mei gives full body hugs, showers you with kisses and chases her toys with so much enthusiasm that she sometimes tosses them for herself. At about 2 years old and 45 pounds, she is a charming mystery mix with perky ears, a chocolate and tan coat and a stocky little frame that only adds to her character. She might have a hint of Doberman, maybe some Australian Kelpie and some Pit Bull Terrier. Mei already knows how to sit for a treat and she learns quickly. She is doing well with housetraining when kept on a routine and she trots happily into her crate for a treat, settling after a little whine. She loves to zoom around the yard and will play fetch for as long as you want. If you love watching a dog light up with pure joy, she is your girl. Mei does have food allergies and needs to stay on a hydrolyzed protein prescription diet. When she arrived she had no fur and was miserable, but with proper care she has blossomed into a shiny, happy pup. She will need to stay on her special diet to keep feeling her best. She gets along well with friendly, submissive dogs, seems neutral with cats and enjoys every person she meets. She rides well in the car and would benefit from a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy her zoomies. After a tough start in life, Mei is more than ready for the fairy tale ending she deserves. If you think you might be her match, reach out to us for more information.  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. February 7, 2026, 10:49 pm

Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Sheba Breed: Bull Terrier Mix Sex/Age/Weight: Female; estimated DOB 06/2018; 35lbs Vetting: Up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, spayed, and microchipped. House trained/Crate trained: Yes Dogs/Cats/Children: Dogs- I prefer to be the only dog. I love my humans! Cats - I tend to chase cats, so I would need to be in a home without any. Kids - I have been around small kids and done well, but I would do best with older kids. Energy Level: Medium to low. I love walks with my foster mom and I also love when it's time to eat. I get excited for both! Most of the time, though, I like relaxing, taking naps or snuggling with humans. Before FAR/My History: I was found as a pregnant stray when I came into Furever After. I had my puppies in the rescue and they all found their furever homes. I've been waiting for 4 1/2 years to find mine and I just know it's out there! Training Status/Commands I know: sit, stay, shake, down and high-five. Things that makes me happy: cuddles with humans, walks, food of any kind and sunbathing. I'm an expert at finding any spot of sun and soaking up all the warmth. Things that make humans happy: how loyal and affectionate I am, how quick I am to respond and listen and my sweet and sassy personality that can charm anyone. Ideal Family/Home: I would love a family that could give me lots of love and affection and is willing to meet my needs. I really am the goodest girl and if you give me a chance I can show you! Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Jupiter Breed: Carolina Dog Sex/Age/Weight: Female/ estimated DOB 10/2018 /40lbs Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on preventatives. House trained/Crate trained: Yes and Yes. Her first experience with a crate was when she was with animal control, so she doesn't love being in one. Dogs/Cats: She has done well with male dogs, but has had personality issues with other females. She hasn't been cat tested, but can upon request. Energy Level: Her high energy side comes out when she wants to play. She will run and play tug-a-war with a maximum energy level, and she needs to play like this at least twice a day. But when she's done playing, she would love to just relax in the sunshine. Things that make me happy: Food and scratches, specifically butt scratches, and being with her human man. She loves her foster mom and is very protective of her, but she will always want to be a daddy’s girl. She is a terrible flirt and waits all day for an evening of snuggles with her foster dad. She loves her treats of raw carrots and green beans. She even knows the difference when given a choice and she will tell you which one she would prefer at that moment. And if you take the time to scratch her bum she will reward you by loudly purring. Things that make my humans happy: She is so smart. She knows how to give a high five, a regular five, and a double five aka a ten. She also knows No, Sit, and Speak and is working on lying down. She sticks to her schedule of eating and going to the bathroom outside, so as long as her human is consistent all will be well. Working on: Jupiter is still a bit wild when playing. She is not aggressive, but she doesn't always understand that humans don’t play the same way as dogs. She needs someone who can handle a dog who uses her mouth when playing. She won't bite hard, but there could be the occasional nip when your hand is too close to her end of her tug rope. She is also built like a furry little tank and she may jump on you when playing (she doesn't jump otherwise) and you’ll feel her compact weight and her nails. Before FAR: Jupiter lived her first two years on her own as a stray until she was picked up by animal services and was rescued by Furever After Rescue just in time to avoid being euthanized. She was likely never a domestic dog before she was rescued. She doesn't show any signs of having been mistreated by humans, but she will always be skittish around and wary of people. Special Notes: Jupiter is slightly skittish from having been on her own originally. She prefers the flight instead of fight reaction as her first instinct and will need her own special place to retreat to when she gets scared. She wants someone who will be patient with her and let her explore and understand what is expected of her. Ideal Family/Home: Because of her size and background, she wouldn’t be right in a household with younger children. She really needs a family that will be able to give her the love and attention she needs. She will want to sleep in the bed with you where she's not shy about being a bed hog, but she repays with sweet cuddles. She's good on a leash and loves a good walk, but not a long one, so she will need daily exercise through lots of playing. She would not be good in a home where her parents are gone 40+ hours a week. She is a special dog and needs a family that can appreciate her uniqueness.
