Meet Paxton! Paxton has an incredible temperament — calm, balanced, and happy to go with the flow. He has a neutral energy level and is just as content playing as he is hanging out quietly by your side. He absolutely adores children and is very gentle and patient with them. He’s about 8 months old and 55 pounds, and we expect him to finish filling out around 65 pounds. With his sturdy build and expressive face, he looks like a lovable bull terrier mix. Paxton is potty trained, knows sit, and is great with kids, cats, and other dogs. He’s a funny, stocky guy with a big heart and an even bigger charm — the kind of dog who will keep you smiling every single day. If you’re looking for an easygoing, affectionate companion, Paxton is your guy! 🐾

Story
Meet Petunia, the 3 year old Bull Terrier/Cane Corso mix whose infectious happiness lights up every room. This spirited canine is looking for her forever home and is overjoyed to be surrounded by her loving foster family. Petunia's perpetual joy is most evident when she sees her family, her tail wagging with boundless enthusiasm. One remarkable aspect of Petunia's story is her remarkable compatibility with other dogs. She effortlessly forges friendships with fellow canines, creating a harmonious atmosphere wherever she goes. Not just limited to her furry companions, Petunia is a natural around children of all ages, displaying a gentle and playful demeanor that makes her an ideal family pet. Despite a challenging start in life, Petunia's indomitable spirit shines through. Discovered in a field as a stray, she bore the scars of past hardships - two dislocated hips and a shattered left back ankle. Remarkably, these injuries had already healed, and Petunia now navigates her world with grace. Although surgery is deemed too risky, her resilience allows her to walk and even run, proving that love and care can overcome adversity. Beyond her physical strength, Petunia is a model of good behavior. House trained and affectionate, she revels in pets, cuddles, and the pure bliss of tummy rubs. Petunia's journey from a field to a loving home is a testament to her resilience, and she serves as an inspiration to all who cross her path. She is house trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated, & spayed. She is being fostered in Seguin, TX and is ready for her new home. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Jupiter Breed: Carolina Dog Sex/Age/Weight: Female/ estimated DOB 10/2018 /40lbs Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on preventatives. House trained/Crate trained: Yes and Yes. Her first experience with a crate was when she was with animal control, so she doesn't love being in one. Dogs/Cats: She has done well with male dogs, but has had personality issues with other females. She hasn't been cat tested, but can upon request. Energy Level: Her high energy side comes out when she wants to play. She will run and play tug-a-war with a maximum energy level, and she needs to play like this at least twice a day. But when she's done playing, she would love to just relax in the sunshine. Things that make me happy: Food and scratches, specifically butt scratches, and being with her human man. She loves her foster mom and is very protective of her, but she will always want to be a daddy’s girl. She is a terrible flirt and waits all day for an evening of snuggles with her foster dad. She loves her treats of raw carrots and green beans. She even knows the difference when given a choice and she will tell you which one she would prefer at that moment. And if you take the time to scratch her bum she will reward you by loudly purring. Things that make my humans happy: She is so smart. She knows how to give a high five, a regular five, and a double five aka a ten. She also knows No, Sit, and Speak and is working on lying down. She sticks to her schedule of eating and going to the bathroom outside, so as long as her human is consistent all will be well. Working on: Jupiter is still a bit wild when playing. She is not aggressive, but she doesn't always understand that humans don’t play the same way as dogs. She needs someone who can handle a dog who uses her mouth when playing. She won't bite hard, but there could be the occasional nip when your hand is too close to her end of her tug rope. She is also built like a furry little tank and she may jump on you when playing (she doesn't jump otherwise) and you’ll feel her compact weight and her nails. Before FAR: Jupiter lived her first two years on her own as a stray until she was picked up by animal services and was rescued by Furever After Rescue just in time to avoid being euthanized. She was likely never a domestic dog before she was rescued. She doesn't show any signs of having been mistreated by humans, but she will always be skittish around and wary of people. Special Notes: Jupiter is slightly skittish from having been on her own originally. She prefers the flight instead of fight reaction as her first instinct and will need her own special place to retreat to when she gets scared. She wants someone who will be patient with her and let her explore and understand what is expected of her. Ideal Family/Home: Because of her size and background, she wouldn’t be right in a household with younger children. She really needs a family that will be able to give her the love and attention she needs. She will want to sleep in the bed with you where she's not shy about being a bed hog, but she repays with sweet cuddles. She's good on a leash and loves a good walk, but not a long one, so she will need daily exercise through lots of playing. She would not be good in a home where her parents are gone 40+ hours a week. She is a special dog and needs a family that can appreciate her uniqueness. House trained/Crate trained: Yes Dogs/Cats/Children: Dogs- I prefer to be the only dog. I love my humans! Cats - I tend to chase cats, so I would need to be in a home without any. Kids - I have been around small kids and done well, but I would do best with older kids. Energy Level: Medium to low. I love walks with my foster mom and I also love when it's time to eat. I get excited for both! Most of the time, though, I like relaxing, taking naps or snuggling with humans. Before FAR/My History: I was found as a pregnant stray when I came into Furever After. I had my puppies in the rescue and they all found their furever homes. I've been waiting for 4 1/2 years to find mine and I just know it's out there! Training Status/Commands I know: sit, stay, shake, down and high-five. Things that makes me happy: cuddles with humans, walks, food of any kind and sunbathing. I'm an expert at finding any spot of sun and soaking up all the warmth. Things that make humans happy: how loyal and affectionate I am, how quick I am to respond and listen and my sweet and sassy personality that can charm anyone. Ideal Family/Home: I would love a family that could give me lots of love and affection and is willing to meet my needs. I really am the goodest girl and if you give me a chance I can show you! Story
Meet Atticus, a SUPER sweet and lovable ~3 year old neutered male terrier/Boxer/lab mix (see pic of Embark DNA results), weighing about 54 lbs! This special boy was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN. He spent some time in a shelter before being taken into rescue and transported up north, where he has been with his foster family for 7 months now. His foster family absolutely ADORES him and they don’t understand how he hasn’t been adopted yet.  Atticus is a friendly, goofy lovebug who just wants to love and be loved He also thinks he is a lap dog and he dares you to tell him otherwise! He has a zest for life and you can tell by the way he looks at you with such love in his eyes that he is DEEPLY thankful for being given a second chance. He will make you laugh every single day with his silly antics, and then he will happily be your little spoon when you're ready for bed. He is also very smart and knows many commands, he is food motivated and a fast learner!  This handsome guy is a true social butterfly! He absolutely LOVES people, and he is excellent with kids. He loves vigorous pets and butt scratches, and he will happily wiggle his WHOLE body with excitement when you give him attention! He gives the best hugs and kisses and makes the cutest like piggy noises when he is happy   Atticus does well with the resident dogs in his foster home, but he is dog selective and is typically not a fan of large fluffy dogs or dominant dogs. He tends to do better with dogs who are smaller than him. He does have some resource guarding tendencies when it comes to other dogs and food/treats (we always recommend feeding dogs separately regardless). He has not shown any resource guarding tendencies with people, only with other dogs. He has not been cat treated, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  Atticus came to us with some reactivity to other dogs, which has unfortunately caused him to not "show" well at adoption events. His foster family has been working hard with him on this, with the help of K9 Rehab in Watertown, CT. He is now e-collar trained and walks beautifully on leash, even surrounded by other dogs. We are SO proud of the amazing progress he has made! As part of their Underdog program, K9 Rehab has generously offered continued training classes to Atticus’s adopter for FREE!  Atticus’s ideal home is one where he will be a cherished family member and given the love and attention that he so deserves. He is happiest when he is with his people, so it is important that he goes to a home where he will be welcomed on the couch and in his human’s bed - he is the perfect snuggle buddy! Additionally, we would like to see Atticus go to someone who is willing to keep up with his training to help him be the best version of himself. He is a truly wonderful dog who will absolutely thrive in the right home, and we just know that home is out there. Atticus is medically up to date and housebroken. Apply to meet this special boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2553222##

Story
Here is aces story. (as far as I know) Ace was dumped by someone who could care less about him. My friend took care of him for a few months. Those few months ace was sleeping in a mechanic shop alone at night. I ended up taking him hoping that he would get along with my other dogs. Ace is very sweet and never attacked my other dogs, but unfortunately I have large male coonhound that will now attack ace on sight. This has been very upsetting. Ace is obedient, loving, loyal, playful, energetic, but he calms down whenever you do. He takes to training extremely well and just wants to please his owner. He has a very high prey drive but I have trained him to not be as reactive while on a leash, so he wont be running towards squirrels every second. Ace is also very protective of his people. Ace is all around an amazing dog and it hurts to write this. I will only accept the perfect applicant because that is what ace deserves.
