Story
We are looking to rehome our two loving dogs, Thor (9) and Bella (5). Thor has been with us since he was a pup, and Bella joined our family a few years later. They’re both sweet, affectionate, and very bonded. Ideally, we would love to rehome them together and not separate them. They enjoy being outside, going on walks, and relaxing near their humans. Both dogs are great with kids and would thrive in a home with a yard and a family who can give them plenty of love and attention. Our lifestyle has changed drastically over the past few years with two young children and a demanding schedule, and we are no longer able to give Thor and Bella the time and care they deserve. Our family is heartbroken, but hopeful to find them a home where they will be just as loved and cherished.

Story
Proud recipient of the Most Smooshable, Kissable, Squeezable, Outrageously Cute Face in the World award and puppy dog eye perfector, Mardi, is currently accepting applications and scheduling interviews to determine which home will have the great privilege and honor of being her family. Her appearance suggests Boxer, Bulldog, and Terrier breeds in her lineage, but Mardi's beautiful, expressive, award-winning pouty punum has a mysterious past. A young teenager of a pup, estimated only to be 10-12 months old, she was running the busy streets of Chicago alone. Found as a stray and taken in by a good samaritan on Mardi Gras and never claimed, this lovely puppy exudes a vibrant, joyful, live life to the fullest energy that embodies the spirit of the festival and celebration that commenced the day of her rescue. There was no name for this girl other than Miss Mardi Gras, the absolute life of the puppy party. Mardi is a highly affectionate, social, playful, cheerful, and sweet dog who wants nothing more than her own family. An active, engaging, and fun-loving household looking to welcome a new member into the family will find no better friend and sidekick than Mardi. She is housebroken and seemingly had some minimal training in the past and came to us knowing a few simple commands. She has a solid foundation, however, she is still a very young, high-energy, occasionally mischevious adolescent dog who is best matched with humans who are prepared, equipped, and committed to continuing Mardi's training and providing the exercise, guidance, structure, consistency, and boundaries all young dogs need to develop into mature canine good citizens. Mardi is extremely intelligent, and her curious, inquisitive, eager to learn and please nature make training sessions a breeze and working with her a lot of fun. She is being fostered with several other dogs and enjoys the company of her fellow canines. She'll make an excellent playmate for an existing dog with a similar energy level and full-contact play style. She craves an abundant amount of exercise and playtime throughout the day, but once she's had a chance to burn off some energy, Mardi loves nothing more than a good snuggle cuddle party on the couch with her humans. Miss Mardi is eagerly waiting to meet her new best friend and would love to meet you today! Mardi is being fostered in Chicago and can be visited by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. Her adoption donation to the rescue is $375. This fee helps to cover her spay, initial vaccines, fecal test, and microchip. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. For more information or to receive an application, email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly. • Mardi's adoption fee is $375. This fee helps to cover any necessary medical care to prepare her for adoption. Story
Meet Draco, one of the most handsome guys around who has mastered the art of the `puppy dog face`. Take one look at Draco and you`ll be in love. Despite his namesake being a villain, Draco has a heart of gold and will happily cuddle with you (as well as insist on plenty of butt scratches). He absolutely adores toys and treats, but he isn`t a big fan of sharing them, so he should not go to a home with children under the age of 6 that may try to steal his special items! Our beloved buddy has had a tough time adjusting to life in a shelter. Draco has a fear of loud noises and also struggles with overarousal. In his previous home, he had similar issues, as well as some mild separation anxiety, so he will need to be on long term behavior medication (which we`re happy to teach you about!). Although Draco has struggled, he`s also shown us so many areas in which he excels! This brainiac has mastered his basic tricks, potty training, and even crate training! He also is friendly with other dogs and incredibly outgoing with people. Come by to visit our dapper Draco and see why we have all fallen in love with him.

*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. *** Ambrosia was adopted from the CACC in Chicago appx 5 years ago and she was about 3-4 then. She was playing with this huge dog bigger than her having a great day and I just saw her and fell in love. Ambrosia comes from a previously abusive environment. When I adopted her it took a lot of trust. To pet her she needs to see your hand first and maybe let her come to you for the first few weeks. She doesn`t like walking through tight spaces or walkways/hallways that she cant see a straight path down. She doesn`t like things like brooms or anything blocking her path. She is house potty trained with a new home she may need some basic training again for new routine. She likes being outside, laying in the sun and she enjoys her alone time. She`s older so play time is not a long, long time with her compared to BabyBoy. She is extremely loving just remember she has come from an abusive past so yelling loud noises sometimes scare her especially fireworks. She does not like being left alone in a car for any long period of time like past 5-10 mins. She is ok with road trips for hours. She does not really get along with dogs that are smaller than her because of the sound of their bark. She gets along with most other dogs as long as she feels comfortable . Show her your hand and sit with her for a while and you will earn her love and respect very fast. She likes treats. Her teeth I`m working on getting cleaned. She does not like showers but she will deal with them. I take her to Pet`smart for nail grinding NOT cut. Her nails are clear and most groomers cut her too close to her blood vessels so just a normal grind and she may need to be muzzled for that part so please inform the groomer and inform them of the hand first before petting. She doesn`t like cats. She knows how to play and lick hands and not bite she does sometimes have to be told no biting and she will know to look for your hand to

Introducing Marley! Is there anything cuter than a puppy? Before you decide to take the plunge into raising a puppy keep in mind the amount of commitment it takes raising a puppy. Puppies are not housetrained, they don`t know that shoes are not chew toys, and they won`t know any of the cool tricks adults dogs know like how to sit or walk on a leash. Puppies need lots of patience, love, supervision, and proper socialization. A great way to bond with a new puppy would be to take a positive reinforcement based puppy class together. If you are up for the adventure of raising a puppy, come down to our same-day adoption center and meet Marley today!
