Hey, There-my name is Watson but my nickname should be Mr. Playful. I LOVE everyone I meet. Person-dog-cat- whatever…I’m going to follow you around and ask for all the pets! My favorite activities include chasing a ball around the backyard and going for walks with my foster dad. I’m one of the friendliest dogs in the rescue so I always get invited to all their fun events. I’m not only a master on a leash but also do great on car rides & in my kennel. I may be playful but I know how to read a room and when to chill. We asked my foster dad for a list of things about me- he did a pretty good job! He loves to share your pillow at night (or try to take it all) He chases his tail like a tornado. Gives you little love sniffs to the face. Rolls over on top of you for belly rubs. Like to lay against your legs while napping. Peeks his head in the shower and wants to lick your wet legs. Follows you everywhere. At ALL TIMES. He gives good hugs. I can’t think of one reason that would make you not fill an application out for me unless you hate fun.

LOKI !!!. Wow HOW could you get any cuter? This guy has the biggest personality to be so small. He is just adored in the foster home he is currently in right now. He has no issue with his fosters adult dogs and tries to imitate and learn from them. He really wants to be a big dog, big enough to hop up in the car and take car rides with foster mom. Loki seems to be a quick learner and very reactive to correction. This guy is everything puppy. He loves to eat, sleep and play and then rewind and do it all over again. You won’t go wrong with this adorable fella. He is going to be a wonderful forever friend. Once adopted he will travel via RescueVet private transport (transport cost is $185.00) to a location closest to you. If you would like to make sweet Loki part of your family and home please follow the link below to our application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

LOOK AT THIS PUPPY!!!!! SERIOUSLY😳 true most dreamy eyes on this planet. And do they get any more beautiful than this ????!!!!!! You're probably still mesmerized by those eyes, and we wouldn't blame you!Precious! The only way to describe this little girl. You can imagine as a very young puppy there's not a lot of history to share. We can tell you that he was born in our care, along with her siblings, and that her mom is a stunning black lab. We have named her Raven and she's very sweet. They have been separated from mom and are ready to find their new forever families. They are currently being fostered by Michele in Memphis, Tn. She has a has full of activity, comings and goings so the puppies are super well socialized and used to just about anything. Once an application has been submitted and approved, she would be happy to speak with you about him. Once adopted, she will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to his new forever family. They travel each weekend, leaving Memphis, Tennessee, Friday mornings around 6 AM and traveling as far north as west Greenwich, Rhode Island, making steps along the way delivering newly adopted pets. Transport is an additional $185. Once they get on the road, they start a group chat with the two drivers and everyone who has A Pet on board. If you would like to make this adorable ball of cuteness part of your family. Please follow the link below to our adoption application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
**HUGH HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!** Hugh, our resident cool dude, is currently accepting applications for his forever home. This guy is an absolute gem, and we encourage anyone looking for a practically perfect dog to submit their application today! Hugh found his way to Pal's Place from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. His breed and past are unknown but we suspect he's a combination of many breeds, a true super mutt! Cur, Shepherd, Boxer, Lab, Shar-Pei, and more all possible ancestors in his lineage. His exact age is also a mystery; there's some mileage on him, as evidenced by his distinguished gray beard and a wiseness in his demeanor and eyes usually reserved for dogs that have been around for several years. At the same time, he is still playful and spry without being hyper or wild and maintains a bit of a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Our best estimate for age is somewhere between 7-9 years. Hugh is the kind of dog we think will fit in most households easily and will make a great companion for a family looking for a dog that is still active, playful, and fun-loving but one that is past the puppy shenanigans, has some training, and also knows when and how to hang out and relax. An added bonus to his stellar personality is his size; just under 50 pounds; he's a medium-sized pooch, ideal for urban dwellings. Hugh is a confident, friendly dog who loves people and greets everyone with a smile on his face and abundant tail wags. He's got great house manners as well. Quiet, housebroken, crate-trained, not destructive or anxious when alone, walks nicely on leash, friendly with other dogs. What more could you possibly want in a dog?! You've probably noticed the cloudiness in his eyes and may be thinking of cataracts, but most clouding is scarring from ulcers left untreated until Hugh found his way to us. A veterinary ophthalmologist in Chicago diagnosed Hugh with indolent ulcers in both eyes, and they suspected he had been dealing with them for many months without treatment, causing some damage and scarring to the lenses of his eyes. He had a dremel debridement procedure when he first came to the rescue and completed a month-long course of eye medications to facilitate the healing of the ulcers. The ophthalmologist also noted nuclear sclerosis in both eyes, which is clouding or haziness often seen in the eyes of middle-aged to senior dogs resulting from the normal aging process of the eye. The doctor also noted a small insipient cataract in his right eye in the lower corner. Despite these three different diagnoses, the doctor was confident that his vision had not been impacted in a significant way and did not expect any progression to cause a significant loss of vision later in life. Hugh's behavior also shows no signs of vision impairment, but despite the ulcers now being healed, the scars will remain, and his eyes will always appear very cloudy. Hugh was recently neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative) and microchipped. With his clean bill of health, he's ready for his next chapter: a forever home of his own! Hugh's adoption fee to the rescue is $375. He is in a foster home on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. • Hugh's adoption fee is $375. This fee covers any necessary medical care to prepare him for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Hugh from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and put the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there! We are a volunteer-run organization and do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. To receive more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. Unfortunately, we cannot hold our adoptable dogs for any reason. Please do not apply until you are ready to adopt.

Story
Popeye is an eight-year-old, 60-pound, boxer/lab mix looking for a loving guardian. He has always lived with other dogs and cats. He gets along with everyone: dogs, cats, and people of all ages … even toddlers. He loves a fenced in yard to romp. He’s fine sleeping in your bed, or sleeping in a dog bed. He’s an easy and gentle companion. He doesn’t even beg at the dinner table. He’s a healthy middle-aged dog, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested negative and on monthly heartworm preventative. He recently had a dental and had most of his teeth pulled. To meet and possibly adopt Popeye, fill out the application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/dog-adoption-application/ Once you’ve completed the application, follow up at friendsofpetraits@gmail.com to meet him. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits Rescue. He’s being fostered in Chicagoland.

** Kahlua is currently in a foster home! She is available for adoption. Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **Cute as a button, happy as a clam, and busy as a bee - that's our Kahlua! She's an adorable 30 something pound mixed breed who looks like she's a Boxer but shrunk down! What a great little underbite she has! Kahlua is a busy gal with a spunky streak! In the home, she spends a lot of time close to her human. Kahlua can be a little mouthy when she's excited, so she does best with teenagers and adults.Kahlua was adopted in 2021, but with the death of her past owner, she made her way back to CCR. We always stick by our pups when they need us! Kahlua is petite, adoptable as heck and also gorgeous!!!** Submit your foster or adoption application at ChicagoCanineRescue.org! **

Hi there! I'm Charlie. I have a heart full of love and a spirit bursting with curiosity. I'm known around here for my sweet nature and friendly demeanor. I'm gentle, yet playful, and smart too. I've figured out all the puzzles they've given me so far. Walks? Oh, I love them! The smells, the sounds, the sights - they all make my tail wag with joy. I can't wait to explore new paths with you. I'm not just looking for a home, I'm looking for a best friend, a companion, someone who appreciates the simple joy of a wagging tail and a wet nose. Could that be you? Adopt me and let's make beautiful memories together.

Story
Say hello to Enzo! This 2 year old terrier mix came to us from a rescue partner and is ready to find his forever home! He does great with other dogs and cats and has lots of love to give a lucky family! The NAWS Dog Adoption Program operates as a rescue versus a shelter. We believe in matching the right dog with the appropriate family based on each specific dog and family’s needs. To achieve this, we believe in spending the appropriate amount of time with each family to allow for enough interaction time with potential adopters. This cannot be achieved if people stop by unexpectedly to meet our dogs. Please submit an application at www.NawsUS.org under the Pet Adoption tab to set up and day and time to meet with one of our adoption counselors and our potential adoptees. Thank you!

Duke is a Boxer Mix who came to us in August as a stray. Poor Duke seems to have had a rough time of things before coming into our care; he was underweight with some skin and paw infections. He hasn't let that get him down though! Duke is one of the sweetest, goofiest, dog-and-people friendly dogs you'll ever meet. After three months of TLC in our shelter facility, Duke is looking healthier and happier than ever. If you would like to meet Duke, what are you waiting for? Submit an Application for adoption today!

My Requirements:-Must be only petHi, I'm Pickles and I love everybody! I really appreciate any time people spend with me, whether it's walking, playing or just sitting nearby. I just want to belong to someone. Whether you're a family, a couple, or an individual, I would love to be your gal! I'm not a big fan of kennel life; it can be noisy and overwhelming sometimes. I'm a low to medium energy dog and would be amazingly comfortable living almost anywhere. I dream about the simple joys of a dog's life - a couple of walks, a little playtime and some affection.I recently had a sleepover at a volunteer's house, and they said I was a wonderful guest - 5 stars! Please apply to meet me today - you won't be sorry. Whether you choose to foster or adopt me, I'll be overjoyed to come home with you!

Someone who was assisting the owners contacted SPOT to see if we could help - and SPOT agreed. This dog is currently located in Wharton County, Texas, but can be transported to Chicago via a licensed, reputable transport company. The transport fee is included in the adoption fee.

Billy boy is a handsome vintage fella looking to settle down and enjoy life. Doon't be fooled by his age, he has a playful spirit and lots of energy for a new start. Billy is currently living with a volunteer foster, however, they'll only be able to house him for a couple more weeks so he's hoping to be adopted ASAP so he doesn't have to go back to the shelter!
