Itzy Bitzy — Foster Dog extraordinaire!! Itzy Bitzy is a very sweet, loving Bull Terrier who absolutely adores her humans. She is generally a very quiet, well-mannered girl, although recently she has found her bark and has started using it a bit more than before. She is not reliably house or kennel trained, as she does not signal when she needs to go outside. While she does know how to use a doggy door, she will still have accidents in the home. It also appears she may have been previously trained to use puppy pads, as she often seeks out soft surfaces such as towels, blankets, and dog beds to urinate on. Because of this, she will need continued guidance and supervision in a home environment. Itzy is very food motivated and has mastered the art of sitting politely for snacks. In fact, if you have food in your hand, she may decide to sit before you even ask! She loves attention and is playful when you engage with her, but she isn’t overly energetic or demanding. She does best as the only dog in the home. Itzy is dog-selective and can become extremely reactive around other dogs, so a home without other pets would be the safest and happiest environment for her. Aside from her occasional new interest in barking, she is still generally a quiet girl in the home. Itzy does have some eye conditions that will likely require lifelong medication, but she doesn’t let that stop her from being her sweet, playful self. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, affectionate dog who enjoys being close to her people and appreciates a good snack! But Donna's story is about more than her adorable personality. 💔 🏡 A PROMISE THAT FELL THROUGH Donna and her siblings were taken in by a kind facility when they were tiny babies because a rescue had promised to take them all. Unfortunately, that rescue never followed through on taking every puppy, leaving the facility to care for the little ones. One by one, Donna's siblings found homes. But Donna was left behind. She's now been at the sanctuary for approximately EIGHT MONTHS, watching other dogs get their chance while she continues to wait for someone to choose her. Neeka's life has been a bit of a roller coaster and she is looking to coast into the station and take it easy for the rest of her time. She has lived with other dogs but is ready for her own space, she met and played well with another dog but once out of TJO the play style of both dogs escalated. Neeka came back to TJO having decided that she is done with non-human roommates and is looking forward to someone who will enjoy her pretending to be a lap dog.OTHER PETS: Neeka needs her own space and will only be adopted out as a single pet. [Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn will be an ideal fit. Neeka is a playful girl who is working on keeping all paws on the floor, and loose-leash walking with high value treats and patience as she learns while having fun. [Some Experience] KIDS: Neeka is playful with humans but uncomfortable with some handling; she will solicit attention but still drops to the ground if she is startled by a movement, touch (especially of her back legs,) or noise.
