Story
Meet Heidi This beautiful calico kitty was brought to us because her mama could no longer take care of her. Heidi was quite frightened to find herself in the shelter, but has responded so well to love and caring. She is very playful and feisty, full of confidence! We believe she would do well in a home with another kitty so that she has someone to run and play with. Heidi is quick to come to her humans for a quick scratch, then she’s off to her next game! Heidi is anxious to find her new home, and will definitely keep her family entertained. If you would like to welcome Heidi to your home and can offer her an indoor life, please submit a cat application online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to let us know to be on the lookout. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Bella was part of a litter of 4. At present time, I have her and her mother. Both are really sweet cats but unfortunately, I recently acquired my son’s sheepadoodle and because of this, the two cats are spending most of their time in a bedroom. They need a home where they can be loved on and allowed to roam about freely.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet, Renee was surrendered by her family when she was no longer convenient.  She's a sweet, chunky and loving girl.   She has a great personality and wants the love of a new human. Renee will jump right in your lap if you come to visit her at the Adoption Center.   She is now looking for her new forever family and is waiting on your call.  She's been at the Cat Rangers Center for a while and dreams of having her own home soon. Renee would do best as an only kitty.        Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please note: All CatRangers cats and kittens are spayed or neutered as a part of their adoption package, which also includes testing for feline aids (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (Felv), age appropriate vaccines, flea and other parasite treatments and a microchip. If you adopt a young kitten that is not old enough for surgery, we will schedule a surgery appointment after the adoption. Special breed descriptions listed in our kitty¹s profiles are based on information we have about their other family members when available, as well as traits that match those breeds. Most of our cats and kittens are mixed breeds unless specified otherwise. How our Adoption Process Works: We take loving care to help match the right kitty with the right family.  1. Ideally identify a couple of kitty candidates on our website, use the advanced search capability to find what you need.  You can also tell our team what you are looking for and they will help with suggestions.  If you are seeing our kitties on an adoption website you may want to pop on over to www.catrangers.org where we often have even more pictures. 2. Fill out an application online at catrangers.org. Once we have an application our adoption team can work with you to arrange appointments for either virtual or in person meetings with candidate kitties.  Kittens are kept in foster homes to make sure they are being properly socialized.  Visits may be virtual, at foster's home or at the CatRangers Center in Buford. 3. Our adoption team conducts a brief phone call with you and later, a virtual home visit, to make sure you are fully prepared for your new kitty. Our team also checks with your vet and personal references.   (We really want to you and our kitty to have the very best chance for a lifetime of loving success.) 4. Once application is approved and adoption fee is paid, we reserve the kitty you have selected. The adoption fee includes all vaccines up to the time of adoption. Kitties have been Felv/FIV tested, treated for fleas and parasites, and have been microchipped. Your adoption fee includes a spay/neuter if your selected kitty has not already been altered. Some kitties are very popular and you need to move quickly to select those you are interested in and get through the process for your first choice as a furever friend. However, please do be patient with our volunteer team. And while you are on our website, if you are interested in volunteering or fostering, please fill out applications! About CatRangers CatRangers rescues kitties that are facing imminent danger such as euthanasia in animal control facilities or risk of abandonment.
