Salsa has survived a traumatic past with an unknown amount of abuse, and because of that, she takes trust very seriously. She is not a lap cat, not a cuddle bug, and not here for unsolicited affection. And honestly? Same, girl. Salsa is a good cat. She enjoys her space, her routine, and being admired from a respectful distance. She can show affection in her own subtle ways once she feels safe, but on her terms only. Think quiet companionship, not constant hands-on love. Her ideal home is a calm, adult-only environment with no small children and no other pets. Hiding at any given opportunity, protective of her space, and preferring to recieve zero attention, we were worried she might never come around. However, space to breathe, the adoption of all her kiddos, and most importantly, lots and lots of time, transformed this dainty tuxedo beauty. Once the cat that would hiss at a stranger's approach and refuse to leave her kitty condo, Rainbow now boldly enjoys all the fun the cat room has to offfer her. She weaves amongst the cat trees, purring and rubbing all over the furniture. She can still be easily startled, but Rainbow is able to make friends with visitors now. She is fantastic with the other cats and has never started a fight or been rude to another cat. Rainbow's ideal home would be a quiet, patient family that allows her to get comfortable at her own pace. She is fully capable of being a beloved and confident house cat that basks in human attention, but more than likely, she will need some time and space to decompress and get comfy once she arrives home. We adopted Steve last year in Springfield, MO after a tornado. He has been with us ever since. We also have a 3 year old Great Dane and he is not very fond of her. We are looking to re-home him due to aggression towards our other dog. He is a typical orange cat that needs to be in a home with no other dogs.

Figgy Pudding is an adorable dilute orange mama cat! This petite girl is still figuring out how to outgrow her shy nature, but she is getting friendlier every day. She approaches gingerly to receive attention, squints her eyes closed when your hand comes forward to pet her, and when it all gets too much for her, she bats you with her paw - nails politely sheathed. The way to this rare orange girl's heart is definitely with toys - she can be seen carrying around her mouse toys, rolling around on the floor with them, and of course, smacking them around the room. A spunky and hilarious side comes out when she gets silly like this, and it's so nice to see this once quiet and serious cat relax and enjoy her time out. Figgy Pudding is social with other cats and avoids fights while scoping out the best places to snooze and observe everything going on around her.
