Story
Patches is 6 years old, I got her from a friend in high school to be an outdoor cat, however here recently that has had to change due to her being diagnosed as a pre-diabetic earlier this year. She keeps to herself a lot but will let you know when she wants attention she has always been this way. Patches does have to be on a lower carb food. She is allowed to have treats but only a few per day. She is not on a prescription for insulin as long as her blood sugar is under control. I am looking for someone who has had experience with cats and knows when something is up and can take her to the vet when needed. Patches is very timid and shy but she will voice when it’s time to eat.

Story
MAY is a special cat that needs a special adopter. Found in the Ingles’ parking lot and brought to the SCHS when she was only about two weeks old, she was very sick. Her left eye remains cloudy and she sometimes has a bout of URI that's cleared with antibiotics. We wish we knew what May had experienced before coming to us. She is an energetic girl that plays rough (and when you least expect it); she cannot go to a home with small children for this reason. She wants affection only when she initiates it. She really could use other cats in the home, but they have to be able to tolerate her outbursts. She is currently in foster care and her very-experienced foster mom can share even more information about her. The standard adoption fee is $120 cash or $125 debit/credit. This includes feline testing, vaccines, spaying/neutering, micro-chipping and de-worming. Please submit an adoption application through stanlycountyhumanesociety.org for consideration. Like us on facebook at Stanly County Humane Society Cats. Thanks for considering adopting a rescue pet! Adoption fees for pets with Stanly County Humane Society are to cover the following: *Spay/Neuter *Heartworm/Feline Testing *All standard vaccinations *Rabies Vaccination *Microchip  January 5, 2026, 5:56 pm

Story
We found her on the street as a kitten, covered in flees and eyes bulging out of her head, so we took her to the vet, got her dewormed vaccinated, and cleaned her from flees. After we made a date to get her eyes removed since they weren’t able to be fixed, her surgery was successful and she is now blind, but she is so lively and fun and can find her way around a home, she is litter trained and we are looking for someone who is dedicated and very serious about her and can give her the attention she deserves, she is funny, smart, and very playful. She doesnt let being blind stop her from being any less than other cats! She is around 6-8 months and we are more than willing to get her spayed if needed. But she does need to be strictly indoors. Owners will be chosen wisely.

Story
Kitty found us on her own terms. She wandered through our backyard in summer 2024, disappeared for a bit, then came back in the fall like she knew this was home. She is roughly 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccines. We adore her, but allergies in our household mean we can't give her the full indoor life she's ready for. She's friendly and affectionate; she may take a little time to warm up, but once she does, she's yours. She's lived alongside dogs without issue (she just asks they keep the barking down). She's been primarily outdoors but comes inside in the cold, and we think she's ready to settle into a true indoor/outdoor home. What she comes with: Full health history, microchip registration info, and a lot of love from a family that will be so sad to say goodbye but knows it's best for her.

Story
Snickers has been in my family for 10 years. I believe she is 12. She was my grandmas cat and sooo loyal to her. When my grandma passed away I was the age of 16. I took Snickers because nobody else would. I tried to stick to my grandmas routine with her which was 6-7am breakfast, outside gardening time, 12-1pm lunch , more outside time, and then always a good homemade dinner. (She is very loyal and will not run away, she likes to hang outside with you). I got pregnant at 19 and since I have had my son (almost 3 years now) she has not been the same. She is utterly depressed when he is around, stays under furniture, won’t even finish a meal because if she even hears him walking around she runs. He won’t even bother her and she will attack if he gets too close. She is the most loveable cat ever and needs an owner that has no children and a warm welcoming home. Someone who can accept her being up your butt 24/7 lol. I hate to do this. It feels like i’m giving a way a piece of my grandma.

Story
Neytiri is a stunning young calico whose beauty runs far deeper than her brilliant patchwork coat. Weighing just 7 pounds, she carries herself with the grace of a feline queen and the quiet wisdom of an old soul. Her gentle nature has a way of soothing those around her—be they human or fellow feline. Recently, Neytiri stepped into motherhood for the very first time, embracing it with extraordinary love and grace. She’s been a fiercely attentive mama: calm, nurturing, and endlessly patient. Watching her care for her kittens is a moving testament to the strength and tenderness that defines her. But motherhood hasn’t dulled her playful spirit. Neytiri still delights in the simple joys of life—chasing after a ribbon, curling up in a sunbeam, or gently nudging her favorite toy across the floor. She’s affectionate without being demanding, wise yet curious, and always quietly attuned to the world around her.   Whether she’s snuggled beside you or softly purring from across the room, Neytiri has a way of bringing peace, comfort, and a little extra magic wherever she goes. She’s not just a cat—she’s a companion, a nurturer, and a soulful presence ready to make a house feel like home. ccrnewengland@gmail.com Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 2, 2025, 12:55 pm
