Peahen is a four-year-old kitty cat that came to us when her people moved away and said they were not taking her with them. Had we not jumped into action she would have had to live her life outside. We were just not going to let that happen! She is your typical calico that loves you on her own terms, and is very independent. With that being said, she is as sweet as honey! Tamala is a good Samaritan surrender to a local vet hospital. She is sweet and shy. They asked us to help her and we agreed. She is a gentle girl that enjoys snuggling with other cats so will do best in a multiple cat household. She can take a bit of time to feel settled in. Umeika was surrendered to a local vet hospital with a broken leg that needed an amputated. We aren’t quite sure exactly what happened, but it’s suspected that she was hit by a car. She is extremely lucky and did not have any other internal issues from the trauma. She is one of the sweetest cats that you will ever meet. She just loves to be held and snuggled, and she will purr, purr, purr! She gets along with other kitty cats as well. We aren’t sure about any dog experience! Bella is a breathtaking calico girl with a story that stays with you long after you hear it. She is only three years old, yet she has already endured more than most cats ever should. Bella is a true rescue — a survivor through every struggle she has faced. She was rescued in the middle of a thunderstorm, her small body curled over her one and only kitten, shielding her baby from the rain as she lay in the leaves. Even in fear and exhaustion, Bella chose protection over herself. Shortly after coming into rescue, Bella’s body stopped producing milk. Her kitten had to be rushed to a tube feeder to survive. Though her baby lived, Bella’s heart quietly broke. She became withdrawn and sad — yet something beautiful emerged from her pain. Bella became fiercely protective of every kitten and young cat that entered the rescue, as if vowing no baby would ever feel unsafe again. Bella wants love. She truly does. She enjoys being petted and seeks affection, but when she becomes overstimulated, she may shy away or gently bat a hand — not out of meanness, but out of fear and uncertainty. Bella speaks “cat language” fluently, and she needs a human who understands it too. She is perfect with the litter box, using any kind of litter without issue. Bella also has a soft spot for dogs and absolutely adores the rescue’s mini poodle, showing us that she has room in her heart for gentle animal companions.
